Amazing views from any seat, an amazing backdrop as our daughter played. While we were there, two toddlers and a young boy joined the playground. Not many children were present. Our daughter had fun exploring the different parts of play on the structure along with climbing up the wall to the rail of the street. She lasted for almost an hour before she was ready to go. We saw two boys on the full basketball court. There was a water fountain with a refill station, oversized wooden lounge chairs, picnic tables, grassy areas along with trash, recycling and compost bins. We did not see restrooms, but we also did not wonder further than the extra to the playground. Parking is on the street on flat ground or on a slanted slope. Down the road from this area is a water front, lots of shops, eateries, some hotels and spas, grassy areas, coffee shops and more. The Bay Area Discovery Museum is less than a ten minute drive away. Lots to do and see before or after a visit here.

Unusual little neighborhood park with stunning views of the city…read more This is a neighborhood park - not for tourists... but it doesn't stop a tourist from coming here a few blocks off the main road to imagine life in such a serine area. Most of SF and the bay area is so much hustle and bustle and car break INS and crazy - its almost hard to believe that people just a few miles more away enjoy peace and quiet and serenity. Life in the bay doesn't have to be all gun shots and barbed wire and security cameras. Maybe if you live in one of those situations its important you come here to see how the other half lives. Show your kids the world is big - and you don't have to have some extravagant vacation to Japan to teach your kids this. The park is mostly flat but the surrounding street where you might park is very steep - if your diving a manual transmission car you might test your skills.

Absolutely gorgeous area with trails along the Tiburon waterfront…read more I came midday, midweek, and found plenty of free parking. I love that there is a statue of Blackie, so sweet and special! The flowers were beautiful, being mid spring it was California iconic with all the poppies abloom! Twinkle and I enjoyed a very nice stroll, and she met some friendly dogs along the way as well. I cannot wait to come back here many, many times! Bring a jacket, it is chilly with the breeze coming off the water!

We were having a lazy Sunday morning watching TV and decided we should get outside for some fresh air. We didn't feel like walking a lot since the weather was warm, so we happily found 2 Adirondack chairs in the shade at the park. The views of the Bay were gorgeous and it was the perfect spot to read our books. There was plenty of space for neighboring groups to spread out, so we liked the chill, non touristy, and quiet environment. We are already planning to picnic there with a friend and her little one.

I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Do I recommend, No.

The Tiburon Uplands preserve is a short 1-mile loop through a heavily wooded area with nice views…read moreon the top of the bay. There is even a little bench at the top of the trailhead where you can sit and look out to the bay. The area is very canopied and looks like no one else is around. Some parts of the trail get very narrow, I would not do this hike alone as it's very remote and easier to fall off the trail. At the top there is a trail going to Old St. Hilary's Preserve which adds another mile to the hike. I think it makes more sense to add this since the views are amazing and there is no point to go down long windy Paradise drive for just a short 1-mile loop. I think it's actually better to park on Lyford or Heathcliff drive which dead end to fire roads that go to the St. Hilary's Preserve and go to the Uplands Preserve from there.

Lo and behold I looked it up and saw that it was connected to Old St. Hilary's Open Space Preserve. It has one official trail - The Loop Trail. It's less than a mile and somewhat steep and entirely wooded.Take a left at the park bench at the top of the trail and take the unmarked trail to get to Old St. Hilary's. Its pretty cool, but not very scenic. I would just go to Old St. Hilary's and call it a day. I'm not surprised that this the trail looks pretty overgrown. Tiburon Uplands is a nature preserve, rather than a developed park. Its 24 wooded acres are tucked into a canyon along a quiet stretch of Paradise Drive near Tiburon, about one mile south of Paradise Beach Park. A short but strenuous one mile loop trail winds through mature woodlands and allows visitors to enjoy a variety of native plants and animals, as well as excellent bay views from higher elevations. The property adjoins the Old St. Hilary's Open Space Preserve near the ridgeline. The preserve provides a secluded natural experience with few recreational facilities, and is not easily accessible. Dogs are allowed on leash. Directions: From Hwy 101 in Mill Valley, take exit 447 for Tiburon Blvd (Hwy 131) east 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Trestle Glen Blvd, right onto Paradise Dr, and follow for 1.5 miles. The park is on the left.

Although we can't play social sports for the time-being, we can still go outside for a little R & R. Thanks God for Brickyard Park. This property (which is owned by the Strawberry Rec. Dept.) is a hidden beach, children's playground, picnic ground, all rolled into one. For me and my dog, it's our own private oasis. We'll walk here, sit on a bench, and soak in the sun and serene bayside views. It's a great spot to watch seals playing in the water and paddle boarders doing their thing with glorious Mt. Tam in the background. It's picture perfect. In challenging times like these, beautiful spots like Brickyard Park give me solace and hope. This place doesn't draw tons of visitors, nor does it exist to make money off admission or parking fees. It's just a lovely park whose sole purpose is to bring joy and peace to folks in the area. What's not to love about that? So if you're looking to commune with nature, type Brickyard Park into your GPS and reward yourself with some much needed moments of zen. You'll thank for me it later.

The playground is well-kept with two slides and a fun boat motif. There are two swings for children under 5. No dogs allowed. There is a surprisingly clean handicap accessible port-o-let (easy for a parent & child to go into together). The only real downside i can see is that the park is open to the waterway, with just a mini stone wall separating the playground with the beach. The kiddos listened and didn't go past the wall... but the wall certainly wouldn't have stopped them. Logistics: when driving to the park, you have to keep your eye out for a small walkway that heads down a cement path to the park. Not a far walk from the car!
