A printed sheet of paper to describe the ice cream flavors that was as boring as could be and NOT kid friendly at all. No music was playing. No friendly staff. I brought two young girls here expecting to have a wonderful time for a birthday celebration but was extremely let down. It almost reminded me of a gas station with extremely overpriced items. Popped in for a couple small cups of ice cream and sorbet while walking Delray on Atlantic Avenue to enjoy a weekend afternoon. The Coffee flavor that son got was delicious and had some dark chocolate chips. This would also make one great shake for mocha / coffee lovers. Wife and our second son got Sorbets / Sherbert type flavors. Both had berries and sweet and refreshing. Our sons flavor was a Lemon Berry Mix and had some choco chips and lemon was tart too and played well against the dark berries. The employee was nice and very accommodating with a fair size portion for small cups. Under twenty bucks for all three cups and tip too. I found it very interesting the location is next to two-three ice cream shops too. My friend and I found that very weird to have so many ice cream shops on the same block and one or two doors down from each other. Like I said interesting.... However, medium size and clean location. The staff members were friendly. Crazy cool and different flavors. Go in and go try to taste some cool and new flavors!! They have waffle cones and bowls. After spending a day on the beach in Delray, we were looking for something cold & refreshing. Just a short walk from the beach, Ben & Jerry's was beckoning us with their delightful assortment of unique & tasty ice cream flavors. The shop was very crowded because it was Prez Day weekend. No problem. The line moved quickly because the owners (husband and wife) anticipated the crowds and were working alongside the lone employee. The wait gave us time to read about the ice cream options and make our selection. We chose a milkshake made with Chocolate Peanut Buttery Swirl. We were nearly drooling thinking about the thick, creamy milkshake coming our way. Want whipped cream on top? Sure! We even asked for spoons in addition to straws, expecting that we'd have more success scooping the milkshake from the cup rather than sipping it through a straw. Unfortunately, the milkshake was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. It was very thin & liquidy. It seemed as though the ratio of milk to ice cream was way off. No need for those spoons :( Although there were a few small pieces of chocolate ice cream in the mix, it really didn't have the chocolate-peanut butter taste we were expecting. The wife owner waited on us. She was very pleasant, as were all of the people working that day despite the crowd of eager customers. Perhaps she was not experienced in milkshake preparation. I hope this was simply a case of a lack of training as opposed to the normal method of preparing milkshakes at Ben & Jerry's. We would have questioned the owner about the milkshake at the time, but we didn't want to disrupt the already busy operation. So we drank our shake and vowed to stick with scoops of ice cream in the future. read more

This was my very first time at a Ben and Jerry's, I wanted to pick a flavor that I couldn't buy at the store. I ended up getting the Coconut Seven Layer! Basically an almond joy flavor it was soo good! I was between coconut and Oatmeal, they let us taste them and I went with the coconut. Although there was only one worker, he was speedy. He served a large family, and made a milkshake for the person ahead of me and I felt I didn't wait long to get my order taken care of. It's a clean, quick, and friendly location. I would imagine that at peak times there could be a fairly good line on hot days as it's close to the beach. I've heard it can be busy but it wasn't while we were there. We did a scoop together of each, half Phish Food and Triple Caramel Chunk. Totally awesome. The chocolate, caramel, and marshmallow blended great. It was good for 2 of us to share. Otherwise I think it would have been too rich. But we are older and don't eat sweets that much. I would only get a small scoop if alone, but a scoop of each for us in a small cup worked great. Never been to a Ben & Jerry's shop before so it was a nice treat. Ben & Jerry's has the best ice cream in the world. I love it so much I dream about it at night. The Butter Pecan is the best dessert I've ever tasted. They used to sell it in grocery stores, but those great times are gone for some reason. I was totally crushed when Ben& Jerry's closed their Boca location. So I drive to Delray Beach to get it. I get a gallon of Butter Pecan hand-packed (4 quarts). I take it home with my heart beating quickly, knowing I'll be having fantastic times. I get up in the middle of the night and eat a pint of my favorite ice cream. The creaminess and flavor of Butter Pecan is just indescribable. If Delray Beach Ben & Jerry's ever closes, I'll be in tears. If you haven't experienced this you are missing the experience of a lifetime. I went back inside to purchase a drink and when I was done checking out the man behind the counter asked if I was going to leave a tip since the man in my party didn't leave him one. I was really taken back by the question and felt it was really audacious of him. I told him no and said people don't typically tip at an ice cream shop (it's not standard as it's not a high level of service and they don't work off tips. He also did not go above and beyond nor was he super friendly). He also shouldn't be asking for one...if people tip employees where yipping is not standard, it's of their own free will. What he did instead is make me not want to tip him. The tip I should've left is tell him not to ask for one or do something deserving of one! read more

What I appreciated about our visit is that when my son asked for a clean ice cream scoop due to a gluten allergy (he is actually Celiac) he took great care in getting a clean scoop & opened a fresh ice cream container so there was no chance of cross contamination. We ordered a couple of hand-packed pints.... and he was more than happy to put two or three flavors in each pint. NEVER AGAIN! We are local residents and we took our family to get ice cream. My 10 year old niece forgot her mask. LONG STORY SHORT.....When we entered the guy behind the counter refused to serve us because she did not have a mask on. I had a mask on and the rest of the family was outside. I explained to him that she forgot it and that it's not a big deal, we don't believe in masking children anyways, it's fine she just wants ice cream. He refused to serve us, was completely nasty and basically we left. When I was leaving I could NOT stop myself so , I reminded him that his front door was disgusting and maybe he should spend more time wiping down and cleaning the surfaces that a 100 people are touching instead of worrying about the mask. I also explained to him that the American Flag that hangs above his door was a bit of a joke because he was being completely un-American and disrespectful to situations during crazy times. We will not go back. I have shared this with friends and family. And unfortunately they will lose our business. This is how I protest. At this point as a small business you have a choice and being compassionate to all situations is one of those traits you should have as a small biz owner and as an American. read more

I went to this ice cream store after a day at the beach to cool down with some ice cream. For one, the prices are ridiculous. $6 for two scoops of ice cream? I ordered the Chocolate Fudge Brownie. One, we could not see what we were getting before we bought it. So, I payed for my cup and it was just plain chocolate ice cream with no brownie in it. I continued to eat it thinking maybe the brownie chunks sank to the bottom, but nothing. There used to be a Ben & Jerry's in Boca Raton and one in Deerfield Beach. Sadly they both closed a few years ago. I hope the one in Delray Beach stays open for a long time. My husband's favorite flavor is Ben & Jerry's butter pecan. It isn't sold in the grocery stores any more. You have to go to a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop to get it. My husband and I were in the area last night so we stopped by for ice cream cones. The server behind the counter was very nice. My husband had butter pecan. I enjoyed my berry berry extraordinary sorbet. We each left the shop with an ice cream cone in one hand and a quart of butter pecan ice cream in the other. read more
