I was reading a lot of the negative reviews before coming here and i have to say i have no freakin clue what any of you are talking about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I walked in and i said hi to the woman behind the counter. This is an italian spot! It has italian feel, up north attitude (not a bad thing, it means they are real people and do not hide their feelings like a lot of other people) and its a mom and pop place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a tiramisu, S cookies, and a handful of cannoli's. They were absolutely incredible. You can tell all of it was home made. I told my step dad who is a sicilian and New Yorker that we need to go back.

It's always a pleasure going to Palermo's. I can smell the confections in the air. I needed fresh baked Italian bread to complete our supper. Semolina bread. Wow. So flavorful and fresh. Also can't go wrong with picking up some pastries while I'm there. The owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the bread and bakery items they make. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are some tables and chairs where you can enjoy some pastries and cup of espresso.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They really made you feel comfortable and appreciated.

Cute bakery open early in town. As you park, music is playing on the outside of the building. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun space out on the patio to sit and enjoy coffee and baked goods.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside looks very Italian.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A few tables to sit and enjoy the morning or afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A whole wall filled with baked goods for you to try. Lovely service. Thanks for an easy choice for snack time and coffee. Hot coffee Italian Wedding cookies Italian butter cookies Chocolate Chip cookies Sandwich cookies Nutella cookies

Always pleasant and delicious. Had an almond honey croissant, coffee and took some soup home for later. Servers were helpful, setting me in a wheelchair offered to carry my items to the outside table I wanted to sit at with a friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Many sunny and shaded places to sit and enjoy the food, beverage, conversation, and breeze.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

When you say authentic Italian bakery. Go ahead and think of this place. Actually, don't think. Drive here. I came here for a mid day sweet snack. Ended up getting cannoli, tiramisu cake and a fruit tart. My lawd... so so good. One more time: so so good. Best cannoli I've had. Rich and full serving of the tiramisu cake. The tart was the healthy snack I needed lol. Very empty place with not many workers. But I was greeted and helped quickly. I ate there, outside. They have some outdoor seating. Quiet area despite the nearby busy intersection. Great selections.

My girlfriend and I were hanging out craving cannoli's as we sometimes do and we got on a discussion on who makes the best. She ended up taking me to the amazing Italian bakery, Palermo's. Palermo's was established in 1961 but it has it roots in the owners grandfather who was a baker in 1920's Sicily. As soon as I walked in I knew I was in a real deal Italian bakery. It feels like the kind you find in New York. The walls are covered with pictures of some of their famous clients like Mother Theresa and Barbara Streisand. They appear on local TV segments are involved with local organizations such as the Italian American Club, Susan G. Komen, the Boca Raton Hotel, the Boynton Beach Woman's Club. My eyes were glued to the cases filled with beautiful Italian desserts including cakes, cookies, bread, and Italian pastries. In other refrigerated cases are enticing soups and take and go meals. The cannoli is their signature item and it was wonderful. I also took a piece of crumb cake which was the best I've had since I lived up north. They offered us a great deal on a whole cake but my scale wouldn't allow me to take it. If I had a function to go to I would definitely come here to pick up a cake or a box of cookies. I hope to make it back to Boynton to get some of the pignoli cookies for the holidays.

Not bad not amazing. Sausage bread hmm salty but what did I expect ha ha Almond cookie with cannoli cream was very good! Sausage bread was fine just didn't wow me. Would be nice if the sausage and cheese was throughout. We havent visited Palermo's since Christmas quite a few years ago so it was nice to be back. The cookies look terrific. Tomorrow we have a Tony Soprano waiting in our fridge for us to try

We make a stop every time we are in town. My father-in-law loves the 1/2 lb eclairs. He divides it eats 1 all week only. We love the Italian cookies, biscotti and all of the pastries. The fruit tarts are delicious.

Outstanding delightful ambiance with scrumptious pastries and cakes. The women behind the counter go out-of-their way to please their customers. Donna helped me choose a strawberry cream cake, a chocolate boat and another delectable chocolate mousse small cake to please all members of my family! And since it was my birthday, she created a frosting card dedicated to Gigi (me!) Everyone is thoughtful and kind!! I even bought an eggplant small pizza, meatballs and sauce so I didn't have to cook dinner I can't believe it took me 20 years in Palm Beach county to find this treasure!!!

Thank you Sugar Chef for the amazing job you did on the cookies for my daughter's Baby Shower…read more With short notice on a holiday weekend .. after my order was cancelled by another vendor .. you really came through for me! My guest raved about how delicious the cookies were. Thank you for your prompt professional courteous service!! I would highly recommend Sugar Chef for all your culinary baking needs !

I needed a special birthday cake for my mother-in-law's 88th birthday. After reading Yelp reviews,…read moreI chose Sugar Chef. I cannot agree with the other reviewers, and am posting this negative review in hopes of helping others. The whole reason I picked Sugar Chef was how they had decorated the cake I offered for inspiration. What they gave me was NOTHING like the inspiration. The only things they got right were the fondant color and chocolate cake. When I pointed this out to the rude person who brought out the cake, she took no responsibility for the errors, and no offer to try to fix the decoration. She only offered to refund the cost and I could leave without a cake...right before we were to bring it for the birthday dinner. This woman had the nerve to place blame on me, saying I wasn't specific in my order. Not only did I discuss what I wanted with Marie, but I put in an email exactly what I wanted, AND provided previous Sugar Chef photos I found online, as to how to decorate and another showing the ganache color. I even discussed dietary concern with buttercream icing as my reason for choosing jam filling. The cake decoration was so pedestrian and could have been done by any reasonably talented grocery store. It had a bunch of same sized roses ringing the bottom of the cake, not around the middle of the cake (as in the inspiration photo). To add insult to injury, there was a lot of buttercream icing in between the layers and very little jam flavor, and although the chocolate cake had a nice flavor, the crumb was very dry. Here is my original email specifying what I was ordering (edited for brevity): 6" chocolate cake Seedless raspberry or strawberry filling Fondant - the pretty blue color, as shown. Due to father-in-laws digestion, he needs to limit his dairy intake, so a lot of buttercream icing would be bad for him. Please use the Sugar Chef image as a reference for putting a decorated band of flowers around the perimeter of the cake, in colors that go with the fondant. Decorate the top with or without additional flowers, with or without "Happy 88th Birthday," or a combo. Most of all, the cake must be delicious. I was so upset, I ended up sending two emails during the celebratory dinner, sharing my dissatisfaction regarding the ordinary decoration that wasn't even placed where I requested, and again when we cut into the cake and I saw the large amount of buttercream. I felt in my rights to ask for compensation on such an expensive cake, solely on those order details not being followed. I didn't even let them know the cake was dry. It's been a week and I've not received an email reply, a call, or simply a credit card refund. Their lack of following specific order details, execution, and taking responsibility has forced this poor review. Shame on them.
