I had one scoop of the Soflo Swamp (Belgian chocolate with crushed Oreos and chocolate chips), and it was very good. The small cup was larger than I anticipated so I wasn't able to finish it. The shop is spotless, the old-fashioned decor is cute, and everyone was genuinely so friendly. The ice cream is made in small batches using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They serve vegan, gluten-free, and no-sugar-added options, and everything is kosher certified. Prices are a little high, but you are paying for quality, and it's worth it. I ordered Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches and love that they're made to order... those done right were excellent. Consistency is needed. My order was made by two different employees... one made perfect sandwiches with the right amount of ice cream, while the other made noticeably skimpy ones that didn't match the quality or the look of their advertised product. After a nice dinner, we were looking for a dessert place. I saw the handmade ice cream and was intrigued. The place has got the old time feel of a soda shop from the past. They have some interesting flavors and everything is kosher (even the gummies are, which is unusual). They have some vegan ice creams, too, though none were available for a scoop when we visited. First, I love that we were greeted with a smile when we came in. I was not disappointed with the original flavor mixes they have here. They ran out of sampling spoons, though, and we couldn't try the Ube before we ordered. Seems like they could easily have used the regular sized spoons, but apparently that's not allowed. The two people working were super nice and helped us quickly. I'm sure they are doing the best they can under the circumstances. When I wanted a dopio, she said they're out of cream. Came here for their famous sundaes. I ordered the OG Sundae but wanted to change the flavor of the ice cream. He said no changes allowed and had to get the create your own for $12. So he simply made the same sundae with the 2 different flavor ice creams and did not even ask me what toppings I wanted. To top it off they ran out of whipped cream which makes the whole sundae when you add the sprinkles. I was aggravated that an ice cream shop such as this one would run out of a staple item like whipped cream. Sort of like Starbucks running out of coffee. The best ice cream I have had in South Florida, so far. And I know a thing or two about ice cream. The vegan flavors are good too. Ice cream is based on quality ingredients, of course. But it has a lot to do with the amount of air blown in, the fat content, and the sugar. Too much air or too little fat, and the mouth feel is wrong. Too much sugar and it is too sweet. Lilly's gets it absolutely right. Rich flavor from the fat content, not too airy and just the right level of sweetness. It does not taste like the kiddie stuff in those big places with clown faces.
