I'm only giving this place 4/5 stars because of their hours. I just learned that this shop in Jack London Square serves coffee, but it opens at 12pm 7 days a week. So when I'm in the area and its 7am, I cannot find a nearby place that sells coffee. Yes, there's buttercup around the corner, but sometimes I just want to walk downstairs, grab some coffee only and go. It's warm today. It's a beautiful day in Oakland today. The sun is shining and it's getting warm. As I'm walking, I smell something sweet like dessert. Sweet like the county fair. Next thing you know, I want ice cream, something of a Pistachio flavor. I see Ben & Jerry's sign as I'm leaving the gallery and I see i have time to grab some ice cream before I head out. She's making waffle cones, that's why is smells so sweet outside the front door. Menu items: What?! No pistachio. Awwww what to do, what to do? after studying the menu I see they offer alot at this corner shop. I opted for a smoothie. A pineapple/strawberry with a lemonade base. Not bad. It's satisfying, it's cooling me down. $11. Oh Sh!t, GotDamn. Well that's the Bay area for you. Everything is a few dollars more here. S-O-C-K-S. It is, what it is. See what i did right there? LOL Next time I stop by, I'll get a real dessert like a frozen bannana or a sundae on Sunday Funday. See you some more on Yelp 2026. read more

I love Ben & Jerry's since I was in High School. Our organization bought stacks of their small cone certificates to give away to kids in the neighborhood and volunteers. There is no expiration date on them. But parents came told me the store no longer honors these certificates. The store has no advice for us what we can do. read more

This review is for catering. I hired Ben & Jerry's Jack London Square for an employee event for about 75 people. I emailed through their website & got a prompt reply and set everything up via email. I think the price was appropriate for one scoop per person & we were able to have 4 flavor options plus there were add-ons for additional scoops or toppings. There is a minimum $$ on the catering but with that many people it was going to be more than the minimum. I already knew their ice cream is first rate! And then the staff was on time & set up quickly and was very courteous to our team. They brought a table for the spoons, napkins, etc., a list of the flavor options and then the B & J ice cream cart. This is review for their Free Scoop Day 2025. Quite impressed as it is one of the best "free" days organized by any organization that I attended, especially by a decently large company. They had a set menu so it limited the options and the line moved quite fast compared to what it seemed like (from the corner to receiving my scoop took 17 minutes total). My scoop was generous and I enjoyed the staff's recommendation for a flavor (Half Baked over Marshmallow Days). SUPER overpriced ice cream and lack luster customer service give this place a 2 for me. I came here when it was pretty empty. No hello or smile from the cashier. I ordered a double scoop which came out in a small cup that was barely one full scoop at other ice cream places. When I asked about that he told me it was as small cup for two scoops and to get the bigger cup was 3 scoops - it was not worth the price. I ate it in like 3-4 bites. I would rather go to Safeway and get a pint for $6 than come here again. read more

We stopped by this corner shop at Jack London Square. There were a lot of flavors & menu items to choose from. They even offer coffee drinks. The place is small & narrow, but bright from all the windows. There are 2 small tables that seat 2 or 4 & some small benches just inside & outside one of the doors. Two freezers held cakes & prepackaged ice cream. The shop was generally clean, & I saw a worker wiping & dusting, but our table still had some ice cream drips that I cleaned up. The noise level was quite loud from an oscillating stand fan & trains that sound their horns as they rumble & pass by directly outside. Customer service was friendly & helpful once workers appeared from the back. We asked for a sample & were given the tiniest taste that didn't include any of the flavor's mix-ins. We ordered a scoop of "Marshmallow Sky" in a cup & a "Coffee, Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz!" milkshake with whipped cream. I like that the sample & eating spoons were wooden. I appreciated that the ice cream for the shake was weighed & that the consistency was thick, but still instantly drinkable. Both items happily satisfied our sweets cravings. read more
