Even though I grew up in the county, I never had the infamous Tucker's. I was expecting a bit more pizazz with the flavors, but the samples and scoop I had didn't seem much different than a grocery-bought one. The service was great and I really appreciated the enthusiasm of the young gentleman helping me. There was a sign saying the temperature of the freezers was quite high, which is why their ice creams are so creamy, but I guess creamy means they'll melt as soon as your handed your treat. Overall, it was quite messy and felt like the ice cream was minutes away from becoming a milkshake. For $7, I'll pass and go buy a pint.

I got the sugar cone with a "baby scoop" of Pralines & Cream: Praline nuts with a caramel swirl in their creamy base for $3. My bf got a single scoop in a cup of Chocolate Chip: Vanilla ice cream with large chocolate chunks folded in for $5.25 Tucker's Ice Cream is a classic Alameda, California, ice cream shop, operating since 1941 and known for its "Super Creamed" ice cream, fudge, and other treats like sorbets, sherbets, and ice cream cakes. It's a local tradition, famous for its rich, old-fashioned flavors and has won local awards, with a current location on Park Street that moved from its original spot. The business is family-owned and continues to support the community, offering a variety of options for different dietary needs, including dairy-free and vegan choices. | December 28, 2025 |

We have been coming to tuckers for a long time. Back lot parking if you can find a spot, you can walk into the back door from the lot. I haven't been in a while. I used to get a large sundae and share. So many flavors and has been around forever. Today I decided to go with young coconut, macapuno. They let you sample and decide on a flavor. Small bites of coconut and it was fine and creamy just the way I like it. I love coming here during a warm spring evening after dinner.

Nostalgic drive by to this place - during my early years living in alameda many decades ago. Had some time dropping off my son at Oakland airport..visited my old Spanish casa.

Plenty of seating and really delicious ice cream! I got a junior double scoop and was super satisfied by the portions. I got cookie dough and chocolate fantasy and really enjoyed both flavors. Will definitely come back!

First time visiting Tucker's Ice Cream! I went on a Wednesday night. The place was packed. There were a lot of ice cream flavors! The interior was unique. They offer ice cream, dipped bananas, milkshakes, and ice cream to go too. Pricing is reasonable. There is seating inside. Parking can be tough. This is a good post-dinner spot.

Incredible! So smooth and creamy, and the waffle cone was bomb. I would totally pay extra for that.

1349 Park St Alameda, CA 94501 Tucker's Ice Cream has been in business since 1941. I've lived in Alameda for most of my life. Whenever you discuss ice cream, someone will always say "Tucker's is better!" Maybe that was true years ago, but not today. They have competition in town from Baskin-Robbins, Loards, CookieBar, and soon.....Cold Stone Creamery. The last time I was at Tucker's it was a slow day. I peeked inside, saw a few people, so I decided to go in. Having ice cream at Tucker's is a hometown tradition. But FYI, it's not the original location. That's why it doesn't look like an ice cream shop. The current Tucker's Ice Cream shop used to be a restaurant. The old location is down Park Street, at the corner of Webb Ave. Service was great! Four people were working behind the counter. I asked for 2 scoops in a cup.....chocolate fantasy and mint chip. Price $8.00. I sat down at a small table to enjoy my ice cream. Hmm, I didn't experience any "super creamed" ice cream. It's not super dense and creamy. It does have a sweeter taste, but not much else. I'm not sure if the new owners of Tucker's changed anything. I heard that some old flavors are gone, and new ones were added. BTW, you have to bus your table. ------------------------------------------------------- So if you're at Park Street Downtown Alameda, go try Tucker's Ice Cream. Located between Central Ave & Alameda Ave. Street parking. I like to park over at Chochenyo Park and walk over.

We went to Bubble Planet. Th kids specifically asked to go to Tuckers, for their mango ice cream. Sooooo good. They also realized the burgundy cherry is amazing as well. Both are super nostalgic from my childhood. I don't think you can go wrong with any flavors here. Also, it was good timing because they also had Zinfandel flavor. I'm not sure it's the same but years back we went to a Rosenblum winery event and they served a Zinfandel ice cream from Tuckers. My husband says it tastes the same so I'm gonna stick with that story! Hurry! Run, don't walk!

We had a milkshake and 2 cups of ice cream. I can only speak for my 2 junior scoops of ice cream - Hot Tin Roof and Spumoni. Spumoni is cherry, chocolate and pistachio flavors and Hot Tin Roof was chocolatey. The junior scoops were perfect for me as I wanted to try different flavors. I think Tuckers has been around since the 1940s. Variety of ice cream flavors in a vintage looking malt shop.

    Good sundae selection.

This place is a very nostalgic ice cream parlor in Alameda. It has a very "lived-in" feel. They also have an extensive selection of ice cream cakes by the slice, which you don't often see. 3/5: I tasted a bunch of flavors. Most of the flavors are very muted, as if the high fat level or high egg yolk contact, was muffling the flavor. Most of the flavors are too sweet for me. The high sweetness level is great for families with small children.

Very nice staff! They encouraged us to try flavors and I ended up loving all of the ones that I sampled. We ended up sharing a banana split among 6 people, and we got ube, apple pie, and salted butter caramel. The salted butter caramel was my favorite, and I loved the crunch of the nut bits that they sprinkled on top. The banana was unfinished though, since it tasted too artificially sweet

I always enjoy any reason to come to Tucker's - old school decor, good ice cream, waffle cones & friendly service.

Came in on a Sunday night with a big group. The employee would forget which flavors we wanted and rudely asked for all of us (who already got our ice cream) to leave the space as it was getting too crowded. Fair ask, yes. The way it was delivered? Just rudely said with a bad tone too. I also got charged for my ice cream when one of my friends had already paid for mine in front of me. I went to have it reversed, and he was saying how my friend paid for 6 singles and I got a junior size then there was nothing to be reversed. If anything we paid twice and for the wrong size. I get that it may have been confusing especially with big groups and long lines but it could have been handled more professionally.
