So while walking around near Ross Landing checking out Ironman course. Saw the famous Ben & Jerry's sign. Not that we don't have them in Vegas but all the ones think of are part of the food court in major hotel. So seeing true definition of ice cream shop one that free standing and the name Ben & Jerry got excited. Plus not often go for dessert more less just go out for ice cream. When you see chunky monkey, cherry gracia, and on and on. The choice was almost overwhelming to just pick one flavor or two or three. I ended up going with two scoop both strawberry one regular and the other strawberry cheesecake. They were awesome!!! It was nice hot and humid. So the ice cream hit the spot besides just finish doing practice run on the course. Nothing better then recovery food ended with some dessert!!! It small ice cream shop so not that many seats. It close to Ross landing or outside play area or tons of places that can sit down with your ice cream. Inside love the art work with the iconic pastors and cow see on the labels. One display all the different waffle cones, sugar cones, and more choose have ice cream in. They also serve smoothies. Really just about something for everybody on the menu. No doubt. Picture a 95 degree day with no cloud cover and barely a cool breeze. That would be today. We were thrilled to find a Ben & Jerry's so close to the aquarium. We weren't surprised by how much of a mad house it was, but it was surprising how quickly and easily we got through the line. It took us barely 5 minutes to get our orders taken, receive our food, and pay. We're also not difficult customers and tend to know exactly what we want (strawberry shake, vanilla cup, butter pecan in a chocolate waffle cone). Seating was an issue as there wasn't enough of it. We were lucky that a group were leaving as we paid. Expanding to have a larger sitting area would be a smart plan, but the service and the taste made our visit a 5-star experience. read more

I had 2 scoops of the butter pecan on a sugar cone and it was perfect the way I like it with enough pecans and everything! They even opened a new container after I asked! My man had one scoop of the mint chocolate chip on a sugar cone and he said it was very good. We always visit this Ben & Jerry's store after trips to the aquarium and discovery museum since it's walking distance from both. The staff is pretty friendly considering the high volume. They are also very efficient. The line typically moves quickly, but it can be difficult to score a table on a hot day. During our most recent visit, I was surprised by the amount of political material blatantly posted throughout the store... particularly a large poster right at eye level on the door. I might expect it more at a coffee shop or college bar, but this business caters to families. I respect Ben & Jerry's for having a stance on important social issues, but maybe tone it down a little. Regardless of political affiliation, I can't imagine parents wanting to explain the concepts of "uprising" and "resistance" to an inquisitive child over ice cream. read more

Very disappointed. Space not in the ice cream, it was delicious. But in their Lack of following the Covid mask mandate for Hamilton county. Also I felt like I was walking into a teenage party. I was so impressed with the staff when my family and I stopped in today. I asked if a particular flavor was safe for my son, who has a peanut allergy. Not only did the staff know the answer, but they went to get a fresh batch to avoid any cross contamination. It took more time and effort- just for a small scoop. When I thanked him, noting how he'd gone well out of his way, he said "Of course! It's well worth it to make sure he's safe." I don't think I've ever been to an actual Ben & Jerry's store, and this was as much fun as I thought it would be. They had a plethora of flavors, including many I hadn't ever seen in a grocery store so I tried lots of samples. They give you samples on a popsicle stick, and give you a very generous portion. So much so it was hard to keep it from falling off the popsicle stick! I ended up with the toffee flavor ice cream, but am still kicking myself that I didn't try the margarita sorbet! They have a lot of people working, many of them just milling about not doing much, but we were still promptly served, if a little absentmindedly. The store has a few tables set up inside to enjoy your scoop in house and there is plenty of parking in the area, but most of it is in paid lots or paid street parking. I would definitely go back when in the area as a fun stop in downtown Chattanooga. read more
