I love B&J's because they have unique flavors, their ice cream is good, AND they are a corporation that does GOOD in the community. My favorite flavors are: -chocolate chip cookie dough: An absolute classic (they claim they invented it!!) They also have a non dairy version which isn't bad at all! -marshmallow sky: don't be scared away by the blue color... the ice cream is sweet and delicious and packed with cookie dough -phish food: I normally don't like chocolate ice cream because I don't think it tasted enough like chocolate but they just do this one right!! It's full of fish shaped chocolate pieces that add texture and it is perfection for a chocoholic like me! The ice cream here is great but the prices make it maybe not so worth it. First off, it's such a cute shop decorated in blue with lots of sweet treats everywhere and cute signs. The ambiance is inviting and youthful and the service was friendly and patient with me as I sampled a few flavors and asked questions. I got a small salted caramel blondie in a cup and so did my friend with a whipped cream topping. Mine cost $6.72 not including tip. Just a pint of that flavor at the grocery store would've been cheaper. I love the flavor variety and this place is great for an ice cream craving, but being right next to a college campus must influence their prices. Who doesn't love free Ice Cream?! My Partner and I came for free cone day at Ben and Jerry's and we enjoyed our ice cream. We have come in the past for free cone day and to just get a scoop but this time the experience felt different. Everything was very organized and the line moved very quickly. There was a select set of flavors to choose from, there was a person leading the crowd and organizing the line and there was more than one scooper. With all of those things in mind, it let to a very smooth and enjoyable experience. I really loved how patient the staff was with all the people coming in and out as that plays into the whole eating experience as well. THE ABSOLUTE WORST and AVOID AT ALLL COST! I stopped in this ice cream store on 9/21/2024 between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. There were three young ladies there working and not really being very helpful. One was sitting on a counter while she was speaking to her coworker. The third employee decided to start dipping ice cream out of one of the buckets while we were standing there making a decision. My friend and I looked at each other and said, "OH NO". We walked out in total disbelief and went to Jeny's. I'd almost forgotten that Ben & Jerry's existed outside the frozen aisle at the grocery store. This location is right outside of Vanderbilt campus, which was convenient for one of the girls in our group. Parking here is rough - there's a parking deck around the corner, not sure if it's free, but we thankfully scored the last available free street parking spot. The store is tiny. There were only three tables in the shop and all three were taken over by middle or high school girls (I can't tell anymore these days) and we ended up taking over some outdoor seating at Panera. I found it funny that some of the college girls at Ben and Jerry's were having their pints packed up to go fresh, even though there were some perfectly good ones in the freezer. Even one of her friends was like "why are you doing that? There's some in that freezer," to which she rebutted "I want it fresh!". Honey, nothing about that ice cream you're having packed up is "fresh." I ordered the mango sorbet, which was exactly what it was - mango sorbet. Nothing to be impressed about, especially not by the price. There are plenty of places to get Ben and Jerry's, but maybe the actual shop may not be the most cost effective for the average college student. read more

This is a typical Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream parlor near Vanderbuilt College. If you don't know of B & J's ice cream, you need to get out more. This is a relatively small parlor with seating for about 3 groups. The ice cream is typically good and the prices are slightly higher than the less boutiquey parlors. It was convenient to our hotel and we enjoyed the convenience. Ben and Jerry's is alway good. This is no exception. read more

Until now, I had only had Ben & Jerry's from the freezer section of the grocery store even though I used to work in the area where this Ben & Jerry's is located. The problem with the location is parking, as is the problem with most of the restaurants in the area. Good luck finding a free parking spot! My most favorite thing with Ben & Jerry's in the freezer section of the grocery store is reading the names and descriptions of the flavors. While the store offers all the awesomely named flavors, only a few include the description of the ingredients on the sign. I'm sure if I had asked the nice guy behind the counter what all was in each, he would have gladly answered, but it took the fun out of it for me not to be able to read them myself. Besides, who wants to be the one to bug the guy behind the counter with a bunch of different questions? The service was very friendly, and the atmopshere is nice. Points lost for location and lack of descriptions. I think I'll stick with the freezer section next time unless I am already parked in the area. read more

Regardless, I figured I might as well chime in on the Vanderbilt B&J location if only to let you know it is up to par with these ice cream gurus' standards. It offers all of your favorite organic and low fat frozen yogurts, ice creams and sorbets. They also offer sundaes, shakes, cakes and myriad other tasty frozen concoctions. This Ben and Jerry's location is pretty prime. It's walking distance from Vandy's campus and just up the road from Hillsboro Village. It's relatively inexpensive (same prices you'll find in any of the other locations), and the staff has been as kind and helpful as you'd expect. I can't say a cross word about Ben or Jerry, and I'll bet you can't either. read more

I wanted to like this place more than I did. The service was alright (though they didn't know how to work their credit card machine and it took about five minutes for them the charge my card) and it was clean enough inside... ice cream was mediocre at best and a little freezer burnt I think. Not a fan. Pricing though, now that was terrible!!! I was really surprised when I got to the register to discover that two small scoops of ice cream in cups (they charge extra for cones, lol) was $12 and some change. Seriously? Wanted to check it out because we were thinking that maybe we spend a little more than necessary on our evening ice cream dates to Jenni's.... but it was more expensive at Ben and Jerry's! I Love Ben and Jerry's ice cream, it's probably my favorite ice cream of all time I even used to work at a store couple years ago. The ice cream was obviously not the disappointment, but the stale a** waffle cone they served it to me in, I literally took the ice cream out of the waffle cone and was able to bend and mold in the waffle cone even, crush it in my hand and it would not break...
