The scoops at this scoop shop were way too small. Even the sugar cone (not waffle cone) cost extra. Felt like they were really trying to squeeze their customers for every penny. The ice cream started melting on my hands 5 seconds after I left the store. Save your money. Instead of paying $10 for like half a pint at this store, go buy a whole pint of Ben & Jerry's at the grocery store for $3 on sale. read more

The service itself was pretty quick but the quality of it just wasn't good. Maybe it was simply because I went an hour before closing but the store was messy, the workers simply weren't in the mood for good customer service, and they weren't wearing gloves. My main problem with it all though that led me to making this review is that the man who served me my LARGE icecream couldn't scoop the ice-cream and literally told me "that's all you're getting out of me" giving me about a smalls worth of ice cream and digging his bare knuckles into the ice-cream. read more

This was a small location with plenty of seating inside and out. They had a number of their well known flavors and other options available too. The prices are a little steep for what was being received. I had a small milk and cookies (Around $7). It was vanilla ice cream with a chocolate cookie swirl, chocolate chips, and chocolate chip cookies. This was pretty good. It was creamy and the cookie pieces were not too big. The price was just not really ideal. I also tried the cannoli flavor, very odd. It did not really have a cannoli taste to it I thought, more minty. Will I go back? Possibly. read more

Been here so many times! I absolutely love getting ice cream and sitting on the swings! There's often a line out the door and no seating. There's no indoor seating and only 3 benches of outdoor seating...nothing covered. They definitely need more seating. It seems massively overpriced (like more than I remember other Ben and Jerry's locations), BUT, there's a Groupon! I have bought the Groupon (it's like $7 for $14 worth of ice cream) every time I've been there. read more

[Coronavirus review] The closure of the local Dolcezza brought me to a less DC-ish brand (though this store is apparently locally owned). It's right on the Wharf and very open and airy, which is a good thing in these days of airborne pathogens. I used the opportunity to evaluate the company's entry into the non-dairy world, something that seems to make so much sense for the company but also changes their whole identity. Thus, I sampled a dairy-free cream alongside a frozen yogurt and a regular ice cream for comparison. The almond-based cookie dough cream I tried had a bit of an off, bitter taste that was too much like dry almonds for my liking; the cookie dough was good and the flavor was enjoyable overall. The froyo tasted fruity and light, while the clear winner in terms of flavor indulgence was my old favorite mint chocolate chunk ice cream. Is it unrealistic to expect non-dairy to compete? Increasingly, some really delicious products are out there, and while B&J's effort was good, it wasn't great. I imagine they'll keep working. Outside of the special consideration, it was a very expensive ice cream in a prime location; not bad, but once everything reopens you can do better. read more

Durant's customer service was good, super friendly and quick, which made everything easy. The cookie dough ice cream totally hit the spot. It was creamy, sweet but not too much, and packed with big chunks of cookie dough in every bite. You can tell they use good ingredients, and the flavor was on point. I wasn't expecting it to be that good, but I'm really glad I tried it. Definitely coming back soon--this might be my new favorite dessert spot. read more
