I've been to The Cheesecake Factory plenty of times, but this visit I decided to try something different and I'm glad I did. The atmosphere was very chill and surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Louisiana Chicken Pasta and added shrimp. The pasta had a nice kick to it and was very flavorful. I did ask for extra sauce on the side since it wasn't as saucy as I personally prefer, but once I added more, it was perfect. My date had the Steak Frites, which was also delicious. Lately, I've been into espresso martinis, so I ordered one but it wasn't quite what I expected. It was more on the bitter side and not as creamy as I usually like. I ended up adding some vanilla syrup to balance it out, which definitely helped. The service was fast, and our waitress was very polite and attentive throughout the night. Overall, I had a great experience. Brings the wrong kind of cheesecake and he brought it on a plate! We are trying to leave. The only downfall with this location is depending on the time of the day parking can be a bit tricky since it's in the heart of DC (walking distance to the White House). Got a table right away at 12:15 pm and I've never been to a Cheesecake Factory before. The decor takes me back to the 90s, with all the amber and geometric aesthetic. The menu was overwhelming, if I were to do it over again, I'd have researched the menu beforehand and given myself at least an hour to sit down for lunch because I'd have loved to try some dessert options. I had a salmon dish with mashed potatoes and corn, and it was very good, my daughter had chicken fettuccini Alfredo and it was really good. The pasta had a really nice chewiness to it. But they didn't have the correct dressing and could not make more. Which is fine if it was communicated prior to receiving the food. Also ordered the Thai Avocado lettuce wraps. Not a let down in anyway. The food was very fresh and it hit the spot. My one and only reason for the four stars is due to customer service. Cheesecake Factory is a pretty solid option to go to and one I keep returning to. I've had pretty bad experiences here but also great experiences. They're one of the few places that do free bread (bless them) but their prices have started getting more expensive. They're known for their large menus so go in with a game plan. I love Cheesecake Factory! Ventured over to the downtown location after a long day and got the crab dip. I believe this is an item only for locations in the DMW area as I've never seen it before at other locations. The crab dip was great!! The dip came with toasted white bread. I didn't remember there was a cheesecake factory downtown. This location is close to the White House. There is hit or miss paid street parking and nearby garages. Metro is nearby too. I mean it's Cheesecake Factory, it's a chain and for 4 of us from all over America visiting for a conference it meant familiarity. This location is huge and clean and it's a high traffic spot with lots of tourists and wait times but we grabbed a bar spot and went right in. Dining here was a good experience overall. Our server was super customer service oriented. We reserved our dining time and the wait when we arrived was less than 7mins. The place was packed and we were seated next to the kitchen in a very nice booth. Immediately we were given the good fresh bread here. Parking can be a challenge so my husband had to park about 2 1/2 blocks away. We recommend using rideshare and being dropped off instead of trying to find parking. Everything we ordered was very good and well prepared. I love that this location seems to be consistent with their service and their food quality. If you are looking for somewhere where there are several options for many different types of diners, this is the place. Everything that they make is done well. The desert is phenomenal, and we all know this. I also like and appreciate that if you are not a fan of cheesecake, there are other options available which are just as delicious. The vodka sauce is perfection and the perfect crispiness of the bread crumb coating. The truffle honey chicken is my favorite entree. What I've experienced here on previous visits is what seems to be unnecessary delay in packaging cheesecake to-go orders. On one occasion, a staff member took my order, informed me that it would take approximately 10 minutes to package my order, and subsequently I watched her and other staff members aimlessly move about the cheesecake display. On this occasion, I respectfully challenged why it would take 10 minutes to package a single slice of cheesecake. To no surprise, right after that conversation she directed a worker to package my cheesecake immediately. I was disappointed that I had to ask the workers to perform basic customer service. Cheesecake Factory restaurants have reduced the amount and size of the crispy fried cheese and cheeseburger spring rolls (which are my and my lady's favorite appetizers) that they give you. Both have significantly shrunk in size and instead of 4 big crispy fried cheese squares you get three little ones. The same thing goes for the spring rolls which were really small. They also scaled back on the amount of bread that they bring to the table. But we all know what remains the same ... THE PRICES !! I almost forgot to mention their signature dessert, (after which the restaurant itself is named) the cheesecake has also gotten significantly smaller ! It used to be the entire length of the container. It is now half the size of the same container !! We were so shocked that we almost sent them back ! Popped in for something familiar. We had been traveling and were super tired so we opted for "comfort" food. The restaurant was very crowded and busy however we were seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and the service was professional. We ordered the mac & cheese balls with the sauce on the side, fried calamari, and we split the hot honey chicken. Everything was delicious, however, we forgot how huge the portions are at cheesecake factory, which is a good thing when you have a large family and when you go hungry. The restaurant was thriving and full of people. They were large parties, but the kitchen and the wait staff were able to keep up so that was nice. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were tidy, which is also nice. The place was a short walk from our hotel down on 14th so it was perfect. Last chance and still disappointed. I drove 30 minutes only to be told brunch had ended at 2:00. My order had already been taken about 10 minutes earlier, meaning it was placed before the 2 PM cutoff, which was acknowledged but still not honored. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I left. I went to Cheesecake Factory with a large group hoping that the menu variety would satisfy a crowd. This location in downtown DC did not disappoint. Our large party included guests from 8 to 80. Our servers were delightful and attentive. There was something on the menu for everyone. I ordered the veggie burger patty melt and loved the crispy bread paired with crisp lettuce and their grain-based veggie patty. Our table gave props to the fish tacos and Cuban sandwich. I came all the way downtown just to buy a slice of cake and it was so worth it. The carrot cake that's done here is a large slice with a perfect touch of cream cheese icing. This restaurant location is a little difficult to access for temporary parking to come and grab quick items. I think it's more suited for dining in but I just wanted cake. It's a complete managerial shitshow and I'm NEVER coming back. Corporate needs to step in and get new managers at this location ASAP. The food was very mid, like genuinely not worth it. And on top of that, I saw what looked like TWO rats during my visit in the BAKING AREA. That is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable for any place serving food. I had the Mac and cheese burger, which I enjoyed! It had the regular components of a burger (meat patty, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles) plus a big Mac and cheese ball. It was tall enough that I worried whether I'd need a fork and knife to eat it. But after a little squishing down, the burger reached a manageable height. The theme of the night seemed to be: average, and not particularly memorable. It continued through to dessert; I was the only one to order, apparently an 1800 calorie meal was insufficient... I had the strawberry cheesecake (my first ever cheesecake!). I did enjoy it, though I probably would've liked if there was a little less whipped cream. So I order Chicken and Artichoke soup and there is not one piece of either in the soup; and since it was ordered through a delivery service there is nothing they can do about it. Not too mention they overloaded it with mushrooms, perhaps to disguise the meat texture and the soup itself is not anything like what it used to be. This restaurant keeps cutting corners, giving lunch size portions for dinner prices and at this point scamming customers. For $25 for two small cups of soup that they don't even fill up, plus tax, tip, and delivery fee i expect to at the very least have resolution and not an excuse that a manager hadn't had time to check the freshly made soup.
