The H street location for Dolcezza was not my favorite. It's embedded in what is now an apartment building; the gelato shop itself has limited seating and no real facilities. The quality is there, and I enjoyed my hazelnut and cookie flavors, but even though it was scooped generously, the price for a cup was a bit much for a place that you can't really use as a place to sit and enjoy. You can probably get the same gelato at the Whole Foods next door. For an ice cream shop experience, I prefer the city center location or probably others as well.

This was my first visit to Dolcezza. I stopped in right before closing and was afraid the staff would be annoyed (because let's be honest, if I were them, I probably would be) but they were not at all. They were so kind and welcoming. They closed at 10 and it was about 9:40 when I dropped by. They let me try the flavors I wanted and I ended up getting a scoop of pistachio and dark chocolate brownie crumble (I think) and it was delicious. 10/10 highly recommend. I ended up hanging out for a few minutes enjoying my gelato and reading a book before they closed and it was a great experience. Can't wait to return!

This Dolcezza had recently opened up on H Street, and, as their other locations, the selections are pretty much the same where flavors of their sorbettos and gelato rotate on a whim. I ordered the Honeycrisp Apple and the Roasted Strawberry gelato, both super creamy and thick with a distinct flavor. There are pints of gelato that you can purchase to go, located in a slim refrigerator to your right. Staff were friendly and were trying their best in making the ordering process efficient to keep the line moving - there's not much of a seating area, but there is some counter space. Metered and restricted street parking can be found in the area. +efficient service +metered and restricted street parking in the area

Dolcezza is an institution in Washington, D.C. and their newest location is in the old Wydown space inside The Apollo along H Street NE. Walk inside the slickly designed space and order sweet treats and coffee. Popping in with my eight-year-old daughter, here's our experience. 1) Gelato: Owned by a husband-wife team, Dolcezza sources premium ingredients for their gelato. Try as many as you like before ordering a small (two scoops) or large (three scoops). With fourteen flavors, there's something for everyone from Black Sesame to Roasted Strawberry. My favorite combo is the Black Sesame and Hazelnut Crackle. Enjoying berry flavored gelato, my daughter loves the Mascarpone & Berries and Roasted Strawberry. They also sell two kinds of soft serve- Pistachio and Chocolate. Both are creamy and rich, but the Pistachio is phenomenal. Sorbet and an affogato are on the menu too. Pinks of gelato can be purchased from the fridge by the register. 2) Drinks: They have a full coffee menu and the coffee comes with the best latte art I've seen. My Black Sesame Latte had a well done seahorse on it. 3) Service: It's kind and efficient. 4) Space: There's bar seating and a few other places to sit. There are restrooms and water at the condiment bar for all.

Dolcezza is probably my favorite ice cream spot in DC. I really love their black sesame gelato and their mascarpone and berries. This location has soft serve, and I came by to try their 2-werk collab with yellow for pistachio soft serve with preserved lemon drizzle and phyllo toppings. The soft serve was 10/10, perfect texture and flavor, and I loved the crunchy phyllo on it. The only downside is they MAJORLY skimp on the preserved lemon drizzle - basically an eye topper's worth, and I didn't get to taste it at all. The price was also eye-popping at $13.20. You shouldn't be skimping on anything at that price. Service is fast and there's plenty of seating, and I enjoyed the experience overall, but it was disappointing that they essentially removed a component of the dish. Still, consistently delicious gelato and soft serve; just wish the prices and promised toppings matched that.

Absolutely love dolcezza, they are the best gelato in the area. This is my favorite location of theirs because parking is pretty easy and it's pretty easy to get to. I love their unique flavors and the manager John was so friendly. He made really great latte art and the rest of the staff looked like they actually enjoyed being there. Love their gelato and their coffee is actually a hidden gem. I feel like not many people know about it!

Service was great the lady made the peach matcha perfectly. First time actually liking matcha. It was sweet and still grassy so if you a real matcha lover you will still like it but if you not, like me this will be a nice drink. Place is cute nice size. Real pretty space and nice sitting

Decided to stop by to get dessert and was not disappointed! I tried the coffee and cookies, as well as the hazelnut crackle. The coffee and cookies was amazing-- sweet, creamy and the cookies add a great crackle. The hazelnut crackle taste almost exactly like a Ferrero Rocher! For a small you get two flavors, and I believe three flavors with the medium. The workers were great-- fast and friendly! It is a little bit on the pricier side ($9 for a small), I would say it is worth it!

I'm glad H Street now has a Dolcezza, giving the neighborhood a gelato spot. There's about a dozen or two flavors to choose from about a few seats for those that want to dine in. I ordered the Dulce de leche and Thai coconut milk flavors, which came in large scoops, providing a fairly filling dessert.

I'm so so glad Dolcezza is in this space now!!! I was utterly heartbroken when the Wydown closed because I loved getting a coffee and working in the gorgeous Apollo lobby, and I missed having a coffee shop just around the corner! I've been a fan of Dolcezza for years, visiting its other locations in DC and buying their gelato at the store, and now they're just around the corner! Welcome to H st, we're so happy to have you!!

I paired this with ROASTED STRAWBERRY. They literally roast the strawberries before adding to the gelato. It tastes like real strawberries! It was phenominal, and my favorite of the two if I had to pick. My daughter ordered the PISTACHIO falvor, a traditional gelato offering. It was extra dense while creamy delicious. I sampled the OLIVE OIL soft serve. It tasted predominantly like vanilla. I wouldn't order this one. Expect a long line coming out of the storefront. It moves reasonably quick and is worth the wait! The staff made it a fun experience, and were not frazzled over the long line (at least didn't show it).

They have an array of non-dairy sorbets on hand as well with fun flavors like lemon lavender. I'm a sucker for hard to find and clever flavor combinations. The cherry on top? A freezer held a wide selection of gelato pints, including some flavors not available in the display case. I appreciated that even the small cup could be split into two flavors. The gelato, vegan options, and sorbetto were all neatly organized, and the staff were generous with portions. Deeper into the shop, there was also a dessert case and a menu for coffee drinks. *Toasted Almond: intensely nutty and very forward in flavor. It tasted almost exactly like almond extract in the best way. One of my favorite nut based gelato flavors I have had. *Vanilla: similarly bold, with a rich and pronounced vanilla flavor. A sweeter take on a classic, but still very satisfying. *Green Tea: well executed with a clear earthiness. It was not overly sweet or milky, making it a solid and above average version. *Cherry Blossom: a seasonal flavor that could have easily felt gimmicky, but was handled well. It reminded me of a lighter lavender honey profile, not overly fragrant or sweet. It tasted natural and paired nicely with creamier flavors. *Espresso: true to its name, though slightly sweeter than expected. It was the least sweet of the group but did not stand out as particularly bold or aromatic. *Honey Mascarpone Fig: my favorite of everything I tried. The mascarpone added a slight tang and depth, while the honey and fig brought a soft, almost jammy sweetness. This was the most balanced flavor and would pair well with many others. While they do not offer as many flavors as some dessert shops, the quality across the board makes up for it. The execution is strong enough that it does not rely on gimmicks, and I would definitely return to try more of their seasonal offerings.

Google search said putting some sand / salt / cat litter under the tires could help and I walked into Amorino hoping to get some salt and try that.
