I travelled from New Orleans to Arkansas to treat some friends to a Louisiana crawfish boil and stopped here, on a recommendation, to purchase live crawfish. They loaded the sacks in my truck before telling me they only accept cash. They actually trusted me to run to the ATM to get some cash with the $250 worth of crawfish!! Up until 2 days ago, I didn't think I liked crawfish. Well, now I've been here two days in a row and I can say that this is my FAVORITE restaurant I've ever eaten at. Mr. Ben is great, the servers are all super nice and attentive. If you're looking for white table cloths, this ain't it. If you're looking for an experience and GREAT crawfish, this is it. WOW! We were in town for a kids baseball tournament and searched online for crawfish, so we gave it a shot. Crawfish was AMAZING, along with the steak and fried items for the kiddos. When you find this place tucked behind a couple buildings, it's deceiving at first. But as soon as you walk in, it's exactly what I expected. Nothing flashy, just great service, super friendly staff and awesome food. The live entertainment was a bonus!!! That dude KILLED it!!! Will not revisit. Period. No menu given, no prices until asked. My family and I visited this place from Texas and I must say, the experience was not great. My family member purchased a medium well steak and the steak was rare. Red as all get out! The waitress offered to get the stake recooked. It was recooked and and the steak turned out to be even more bloody. Additionally the establishment isn't the cleanest. At all. On a rainy day, the seats were wet and mosquitos were flying everywhere! Now I must say, the crawfish wasn't bad but that shrimp had no seasoning. Just boiled in water! Management did not offer for the steak to be removed from the ticket. Instead, the waitress charged us $12 for 1 potato, 1 corn (untouched), bloody steak (untouched) and 1 piece of sausage. Smh. We ate here tonight after eating at all other types of restaurants this week in Ruston. They are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. we arrived a little after 7 p.m. on Thursday and it was their first Thursday open on the new season as they are only open from mid-January to Mid June. The restaurant is unique and interesting. The food and Hospitality were excellent and our visit could not have went better. The Crawfish, boiled shrimp, and ribeye steaks were all delicious. The owner even came and spent several minutes with us showing us the best way to open and eat a crawfish. Even sat with us for well over 15 minutes talking with us after our meal. I highly recommend Ben Christmas crawfish to anyone that likes this style of food. The Crawfish and the shrimp as well as the sausage, potatoes, and corn are on the spicy side, but the ribeye steak is not spicy, but well-seasoned. He also had Great Northern beans with ham hock chunks which was good and a slice of garlic bread if you order steak. Pricing is reasonable hand ranges from about $26 for a ribeye meal to $16 a pound for the boiled shrimp. I can't remember how much a pound of crawfish was as our table ate several pounds and we lost count. But overall it is a great value for great food and with a great atmosphere and a visit you won't forget. I highly recommend this place if you like this type of food. read more

I have purchased crawfish here during a visit home before. Nothing special about the place, other than it being local to the area I grew up in. I do my best, when I am home to shop local, and support local businesses, because the culture we all share is one of the things I am most proud of in life, but the guy who runs this place has lost my business for sure. He is just a snowflake who whines and cries on social media about his political views. He seems to think that others owe him their business, and completely disregards any feedback that isn't praising him. Considering you can get good crawfish at any number of places around Ruston, I would hope others would refrain from buying with this petulant loser also. We bought boiled crawfish from there yesterday. Some were under cooked, some were mushy, and others looked like they had been beat to death. I threw many away, easily a pound maybe more. We got a couple of potatoes and corn neither tasted like they had not been cooked in any seasoning. Not impressed at all. It looks like whoever cooked them didn't take any pride in what they were doing. Seems like customer service is a lost art for many businesses.
