WOW - I'm so glad my wedding planner introduced us to him during our search for a live musician to play at our wedding. Ben Hoyt was the violinist at our recent wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades, CA. Ben was an absolute pleasure to work with! My wedding planner had encountered him before at other weddings and she had nothing but positive things to say about him, so we were really excited to meet with him virtually a few weeks before our wedding day. He walked us through all the different songs he could play on his violin, which was a huge range of genres from hip hop to classic oldies. He was also willing to experiment and play new violin renditions of songs if they weren't on his playlist. We ended up choosing a bunch of our favorite songs from his list and requesting a few of our other favorites, mostly EDM, and he delivered! He was super kind and accommodating towards us the entire time. He played the entire time during our pre-ceremony and cocktail hour and our guests LOVED him. He performed with lots of energy and his talent really shows through his music. As the bride, I was busy running around, but I wish that I had more time to listen to him play LOL - I definitely missed out! I don't think 5 stars is enough for Ben. He was absolutely killer at our wedding!! We are beyond thrilled and at a lost for words at how amazing Ben was during our wedding, he went above and beyond. From the beginning he was so easy to work with, he was able to learn a new song for our ceremony that really meant something to me and my wife. Really made our ceremony. He was able to walk us thru a list of songs he could play and asked us which ones we wanted to played as well as maybe learning one or two new songs. The variety of songs available was truly remarkable During the wedding he played with such passion and professionalism that all of our guests were so impressed and happy with the music. Ben was able to add his violin to any song our DJ was playing and mix both together into something incredible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any occasion. Im an October 2023 bride and people still talk about how Ben was the highlight of our reception to this day! So i found Ben through a friend of mine who is in the wedding planning business. She highly recommended Ben and said he's one of the easiest vendor to work with. At that time I was brainstorming for ideas I can surprise my husband with at the reception. Im pretty sure i stalked Ben's instagram for at least 2 months. Even searched him on youtube to see whether i can find a video of him playing! Lol I contacted Ben via instagram a year before my wedding and we quickly exchanged emails. Communication- Ben was so easy to communicate with and kept everything simple. I had a full planner but i requested that all communications with Ben throughout the planning would be with me since it was meant to be a surprise for my husband. Once i turn him over to my planning and coordination team, they agree that Ben was such an easy vendor to communicate and work with! According to my planner, Ben arrived early to the venue to meet the dj and the host- even had some time to practice with our wedding host. Picking the songs- this was no doubt the hardest part of the planning because Ben provided a long, impressive amount of songs he knows how to play. I ended up picking 5 songs: A Thousand Years (for our first dance) and 4 songs during dinner (Young and Beautiful, Night Changes, Viva La Vida, Feel Good). And let me tell you.... Our guests were blown away! Ben was playing wirelessly and our guests were singing and rocking out to his music. You can tell that he brought so much energy up in the room. My husband and I barely touched our food as we were also vibing to his music. Just writing this review get me teary-eyed as i recall back to the best night of my life.
