Very dishonest dealership. I spoke to a salesperson several times about a vehicle and then traveled from out of state to go look at it. The vehicle was misrepresented, we finally settled on a price and then they completely jammed me on financing. I have fantastic credit but they locked me into financing with a ridiculous interest rate. When I chased down the bank I found out that the dealership gets a huge Kickback on the financing and they told the bank what the interest rate would be. Like I said very dishonest dealership. I can't even get them to leave me alone they call me all the time, they email me all the time trying to get me to purchase again. So sick of this dealer. read more

Don't be fooled! Pre-owned means used, as is! I bought what they call a pre-owned Cadillac CTS. Before taking off the lot there was a check engine light on and the dealer informed me that there was also a slow leak in one of the tires that they would fix. I brought the car back, there was a problem with the high pressure fuel pump and the tire did have a leak. They refuse to fix both issues. I was also informed by their service department that the car needed a tune-up just days after purchase. Got a flat tire on the way home one night, went to change the tire, and the part to remove the bolt was the wrong size. They wouldn't replace it. Had the spare tire put on and that was damaged and unusable. The battery has died after only one year. Watch out for OnStar! Called OnStar for assistance with the flat tire, and waited 4 hours they sent no one I was on my own! I can't wait to get rid of this car! read more

We bought our GMC Acadia Denali from this place last November. The vehicle has been great and received excellent service from the sales member. Part of our purchase came with two "free" maintenance services. Well, we dropped our car off for the "free" service a couple days ago and our car was driving great, never had any issues. They were suppose to just do an oil change and rotate the tires...well, when we got our car back, it was pulling way to the right and got knocked out of alignment. We took the vehicle back to the service department and they said we had to pay $150 for an alignment.They would not just fix what they broke in the first place. This business practice is unethical. We have a growing family with multiple kids, we had to wait multiple hours on the "not so free" service and got our car back in worse condition. They made our vehicle unsafe to drive, then wanted to charge us to fix their mistake. No way I'm giving these people $150 or even one penny just so they can make a profit on messing up our vehicle during a "free" service. It's sad because we had such a great experience with Stuart and have a growing family and actually are currently looking to upgrade to a Yukon Denali XL. We were going to go back to this place for that purchase but now we are not because of the terrible service experience. We can not trust the service department here. read more

Its said that when someone decides that they REALLY REALLY want a new vehicle, they often do within 30-45 days. Also, the average dealerships visited is 1z2. Welllllll let's just say those may be correct. This was my second or third and about 4 weeks in. Tony S. was (or should I say is? Whatever, you catch my drift) phenomenal. I didn't expect less considering all of his awards and even a WWF belt (The Champ Is Here) lining a wall and a half of his office. Very dine to earth & accommodating. Look, they are car salesmen. Was advised I have no warranty on the previous job and they refuse to diagnose the issue to repair.you're better off with a backyard mechanic or even YouTube. read more

And came back and said he's letting Richard get by with it. I never have been - but it was like I was thrown out of a bar.  I felt like Ron White. Avoid this service center, as a consistent customer.  They do not feel it's their job to get your car RIGHT - Rather they feel it's you make sure you don't `annoy` them.  Yes, a couple of the best alignment techs around. ... But they all get really butthurt when the service center's called out on an oversight, or just something with your car they are mistaken about. Went in with hesitation because I absolutely dread dealing with dealerships....but this one by far has impressed me the most! Most dealers will ask you to leave them a review and the guys here didn't even have to because their service speaks for itself. Jeff Johnston was our salesman and he was AMAZING and patient with our skepticism with buying a vehicle. They reserved our new Buick Encore GX for us so we could drive from out of state with a peace of mind knowing it would be there waiting for us to check it out. Absolute garbage dealership. If you take your car to their service dept you will regret it. They took 7 count them 7 weeks to repair my vehicle. They lied to me on more than one occasion and every time I asked to speak to the manager he was mysteriously unavailable. Their tech managed to break my windshield washer fluid line and didn't say anything or fix it. I brought my car in for an oil change and a cabin filter replacement (which Ben Mynatt notified me of). I brought the car in when the service department opened, I was the first one there with an appointment. I waited nearly three hours for my car to be ready. Several people were in and out before me and this made me very upset. I am not sure why I had to wait so long for my car with the services I was getting done. I prefer to have my car serviced at the dealership where I purchased it. However, based on my last experience, I think I may have to consider going elsewhere. read more

The customer service here needs a big upgrade! Having to wait 1 1/2 hours to sign paperwork for a car you are paying cash for is very annoying and lacks aggravating. The car was not detailed, could not locate other key, didn't have convertible top cleaned of mildew stains all the had been promised when we signed paperwork after waiting for 1 1/2 hours. This is the first "four star" review I have ever given to an auto dealership. In my experience, the general rule in the dealership service universe is long wait, massive list of possible issues (many of which have nothing to do with the problem at hand) and an astronomical bill to match. This experience with Ben Mynatt GMC was the antithesis of the norm!! I called Mynatt with an electical challenge in my 2008 truck. They quickly processed me, zeroed in on the stated problem, kept me well informed, and when I trudged to the paycage, there was an exceptionally pleasant $0.00 as the bill. The problem was covered under warranty and even though I am 427 miles over warrantied mileage.... Wow..they allowed the expense. I (and anyone else I can convince) will forever more use these folks for my GMCs, Chevys and any other vehicles I can round up. Well done!!! read more

Do NOT come to Ben Mynatt's to buy a car or get service. Ben Mynatt has tried twice to fix my new 2015 Camaro which intermittently dies (3 times in a month), but they can't duplicate the problem. Chevy has released a technical bulletin about this issue but the patch didn't work. While I know it's hard to fix a car if the problem can't be duplicated, what I don't understand is how the district manager (who also oversees Everett Chevy of Hickory, where I purchased the vehicle) refused to discuss a refund. The car has a known issue which GM tried to fix, failed, almost killed my wife when it died merging onto I-85, and yet I'm left with no remedy but to take back this car and pray it doesn't kill me or sell it for a huge loss. Ben Mynatt is refusing to even look at the car anymore. If you get a lemon like I did they will screw you over. Do not buy a car here. Do not let them service it for you. Edit: I took the Camaro to McKinney Chevrolet in Gastonia for a second opinion. I spoke with Cliff and told him what happened at Ben Mynatt and he agreed to look the car over. The first thing Cliff did was attempt to install the technical bulletin, and to his surprise the car accepted it. According to Cliff, the only way this could happen was if the bulletin had never been previously installed. So I assume someone at Ben Mynatt tried to install the bulletin but they were so incompetent they didn't realize it had failed, then gave me back a dangerous car, didn't believe me when it died again and paid so little attention to it when I brought it back for a week that they never realized the bulletin hadn't been installed. I literally cannot imagine more ineptitude or worse customer service than what I found at Ben Mynatt. I have told everyone I know how terrible they are and I will never, ever be going back there. read more

I called on a van but didn't leave a message. The night before I had also sent an email about the van. About 20 minutes after I made the phone call I received a voicemail, texts, and email. I texted a few times making sure the van was on the lot. I was asked when I could come in for an apt, that evening or the day after. We live 3 hours away. I tried to make the drive before they closed but wouldn't make it so we drove down, got a hotel, and the next morning called to verify the vehicle was still on the lot. An apt was made, because we were told the van was there, and when we got to the dealership 1 hour later the van was no longer on the lot. It had been sold but we were assured they could put us in another vehicle they they just needed to know what we wanted our payments to be. We were very specific in wanting a van. "How about a Dodge Journey?" Not professional and they will do what it takes to get you in the dealership. Please save yourself a headache and time and shop with a different dealer. read more

Yesterday around 4:30 I attempted on 4 calls to schedule a service appointment for my wife's truck. No matter who I asked for all I got was voice mail. I find it very difficult to believe that I was unable to get anyone on the line to schedule the appointment. The list of people started with the person that normally schedules the service, no answer, voice mail. Called back and asked for the senior service writer (Gary) no answer, voice mail. Called back and asked for the service manager supervisor (Ethan) no answer, voice mail. Called back for the 4th time and asked for Cindy Mynatt, no answer, voice mail. Hell I gave up....... For the past 2 years, I have used Ben Mynatt GMC Service Dept multiple times. Every time I dropped in, I was helped very quickly and professionally by the staff. Neal in particular is definitely "professional grade" and lives the company's slogan in everything he has done for me. This past week my dad was visiting from out of state had some complex unusual issues with his GMC, which really challenged the service department's skills. Although it took a few times to get it right, the staff worked hard to make it right for him. One of the absolute best car buying experiences we have had. My wife HATES buying cars, hates the process, hates the salesmen, hates the managers, financing, EVERYTHING about buying a car. We found her newest truck online and I started the process there. A first for me, but got an immediate response. While not really surprised, I was surprised at the friendly,no pressure approach. Caught me a little off guard. I explained what making a deal would look like with her and our expectations (like we need to be in there less than 2 hours knowing I could likely get 4 out of her) and of course the salesman said that would be no problem. When we got there, the truck was ready and out front, we got a little more for our trade than we had already prepared for, and were out the door in 3 1/2 hours. WOW! While she did get a little feisty, they crushed it. I could mess with a car salesman for days, I think its fun, but the way they catered to her demands lol I would highly recommend Ben Mynatt to anyone shopping for a new ride. I had a 9am appt for tire rotation and oil change. Normally it takes 2 hours for some reason it took 4.5 hours (I own a dually) so I expect 2 hours but never more. When I asked why it is taking so long the response I got was, they went to lunch. Well lunch was 3 hours after I dropped the truck off!! Also, all 4 rims have been damaged due to worn out protection pads. It gouged and deeply scratched all 4 rims. People dont spend 60k on a vehicle to have the dealerships lack of maintenance damage it. Currently waiting on a resolution to this problem!! read more

Part 2 - THIS IS A CONTINUATION FROM MY REVIEW ON THEIR CHEVY DEALERSHIP 3. SOUND BUSINESS PRACTICES - in addition to the price hike in less than 24 hours, the last straw in this comedy of errors was the communication received by what I believe was a member of their Sr. Leadership or ownership team. These are the same folks who actually worked with members of my family over the past few years and profited off of the quarter million in sales. Given the history my family has had with this business, the major cluster exacerbated by their staff, and the poor customer service, one would assume they would do the right thing and at least honor the price negotiated the day before. WRONG!!!! SCOTT, the true sales manager offered a lesser version of the truck in question as well as a truck that had been driven by himself and had over 2,000 miles on it and wasn't the cleanest vehicle. We were looking for a new truck, not a demo truck. The topper was once we declined that offer, he rudely said, "Ok, bye!!!" and hung up the phone. To say the least, this was very disappointing, but perfectly in line with what we experienced the day before. This shows us that this behavior was not a one-time occurrence, but the new norm for Ben Mynatt dealerships. With all that said, it is quite obvious that neither I nor my family will ever do business with this dealership again. Also, if you care about things like TRUST, DIGNITY, and SOUND BUSINESS PRACTICES, I'd highly recommend staying far away from this place. One can always find a car, but one can never get the feeling back of feeling mistreated, abused, and taken advantage of so don't put yourself in that position. I was online looking for a used car and ran across one listed on their website. A family member called to inquire about the car and was told trades were allowed. We drove 40 miles to see the car, which was in the shop for repairs. Had my vehicle "appraised" and was told they would give me $500... My vehicle has 100,000 miles on it and is a 1999... "Fair" trade in value according to kbb.com was over $1800. Needless to say I was very insulted. Another salesman agreed the offer was ridiculous and said he would be in touch. The next day, he said $1200. I know my vehicle is older but I know it is worth more than $1200. After stating he would get try for a better offer, he never called again. When he was called, he stated they were not going to sell the car, they were sending it to auction. Day three another family member went to the dealership just to see if it was there and if he could see it. He was told the car was sold the night before. Three days, three different stories. If you want cash for a car, don't say you will take a trade; advertise it as a cash only deal. Don't lie to the person asking about the car. Telling me the truth would not have hurt my feelings but it might have saved customers. This was the most ridiculous and unnecessary experience I have ever had with a dealership. I come from a family of car enthusiasts and this dealer will certainly never get any business from me or anyone I know. read more
