I was recommended this place from a mom friend of mine. it's a really nice and friendly place! I met steve and his son. They got me an oil change and replaced a headlight. I told him that he forgot to charge me for a headlight and he said it was okay! My two kids hung out in the waiting room and my oil change was sooooo quick! ALSO they did not ask me to do any more work to my car. I know so many places will try to upsell you on other things but they didn't do that here! I'll definitely be going back! read more

Could not fix the problem on my car. I had brought my car multiple times from engine start problems. I have followed every recommendations from changing spark plugs, cleaning the engine, engine air filter, and doing seafoam gas tank cleaning. My car is still having the same issue just as I brought the car to Mr. Steve the first time. Would not recommend. read more

I am fairly new to N.C., so I'm building my list of pro's I use. I base it on recommendations, Yelp, people, and guessing. lol. Needed vehicle inspection and saw that Steve's was right next door to a DMV/motor vehicle site in K-Town. Bingo ! Went there, no appointment, and it was done in a timely manner. I thought Steve and the other people were nice and involved in working hard. Haven't needed mechanical work, but I would go there as needed, see how that went. Honesty is a hard quality to find in someone especially in a mechanic. I've been going to Steve for years, three cars later and a move to Charlotte I'm still going to him and wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I started going to Steve just because I needed my car inspected. After that breif interaction with Steve I knew he was a mechanic that was on the up and up. It's a small shop with just two spots to work on cars. Steve is the owner and his son is also a mechanic that works at the shop with him. He can get pretty busy so I like to make a appointment before driving to Kannapolis from Charlotte, I suggest you do the same. For some reason I have terrible luck with cars, all I wanna do is get the oil changed and put gas in it. Anything above those two things I'm a topical girl and know nothing about it. The first car that Steve worked on was a 1995 Nissan Sentra (still running might I add), from oil changes to brake replacements he did it all. Always at very reasonable prices telling me exactly what I was paying for and how much the parts were. After what I thouhgt was a up grade to a 2010 Chevy Malibu Steve continued to work on that. Unfortunately that car had MORE then a few problems! Steve did fix a few things on it, but he finally said enough is enough telling me I shouldn't keep putting money in that car. Now I've got a 2012 Chevy Sonic and I trust Steve to work on that too. Everyone needs a trustworthy mechanic, Steve is definitely that! read more

My car over heated on the drive from Raleigh to Atlanta and luckily for me I was only 4 miles from Steve's, which had a couple of good reviews so I gave them a shot. I was not disappointed. One of the coolant hoses had developed a leak so they replaced it and had me back on the road in less than 2 hours for $80. Can't ask for more than that. read more

I have been going to Steves for several years now, I had a 2003 Ford Windstar Van when I started going there and he always made me feel very confident that I was getting great service every time I came in there, now I traded my Windstar for a 2009 Toyota Sienna Van and I have just gotten back from Steves, I just wanted him to check my engine fluid levels and I had a couple of fuses that needed to be checked so I could use my GPS through the cigarette lighter well I like always got great service at a fair price so if you have problems with your vehicle or you need a routine fluid change please don't hesitate just Go see Steve or his son Mat they wont let you down they will get the job right the first time and you can stake my name on it ( John Ritchie ) from Concord read more

Steve personally is a great guy. My issue is he so busy things get missed at certain times. For example I had a window that fell off the track on the driver side. I paid $40 three specific times over a two-week period to have it fixed. Only to find out that they were using the wrong glue and it never solidified. Because of that I ended up having to buy a regulator and then paying an additional hundred $40 to have the regulator installed. But it wasn't put on properly because my window doesn't roll all the way up and down. At one point it was stuck in the up position and I was told you to leave it like that like I don't need to ever roll my window down. Then they were so busy one day I paid $68 for an oil change only to come home and find out there was no oil in my truck has it overheated on the way home. When I call him to let him know I was told that my truck's probably leaking which is not the case because we had previously check for leaks and to prove otherwise I put five quarts in later on that day. So unless my Expedition can fit 11 quarts of oil one of us is mistaken. Like I said Steve is a great guy it's just that it's so busy at times things get missed. But when it costs me for the mistakes on behalf of the shop. And it adds up to in the hundreds of dollars. I decided to look elsewhere for another mechanic. read more

We took our car to Steves to fix a broken motor mount. The work was performed and we left, but the engine vibrations started happening again a few days later. So we took it back, and they looked at it, and one of the mechanics said that the mount had slipped and needed to be replaced. He said to bring the car back when they werent so busy and they would fix it. So we did, but when we brought it back, the owner told us he didnt know what was wrong with it and that we should "Take it somewhere else" . I have never heard a garage say take your car somewhere else. So, it seems to me that despite the glowing reviews of this place (and we had the car here a few times before with no problems) that Steve does not stand behind his work. The car was brought in to diagnose the problem, it was diagnosed, but not fixed, and then the owner tells us to take it somewhere else. Well, we will, from now on. We will never go back. read more
