Recently I was traveling and when the bill came through, (REPS wants COD payments, unlike my other vendors which offer 30 day terms) and REPS had a problem with my credit card on file, so they did the most unprofessional thing possible; Instead of waiting one week for me to return from my trip, they billed my customer directly at my cost. In my 40 years of running an agency, I have never had a vendor charge my customer directly. At this point I am not sure I will continue working with them since their attitude on this major break in client-vendor relationship was: We tried to bill your card and since it didn't go through we billed your customer. We were then denied because all applicants were required to individually meet the qualifications. That is the exact information we were trying to clarify BEFORE applying. Had we been given accurate information from the beginning, we would not have submitted the applications, paid the fees, taken the credit inquiries, or spent our time visiting the property. I understand that properties have qualification requirements, and I have no issue with a company enforcing them. My issue is being given information by an employee that directly influenced our decision to apply, only to later be denied based on a requirement that contradicted what we were told.
