I am giving 5 stars for the 2004 Porsche Boxster they hooked me up with, and 3 stars for the buying…read moreexperience. Here are the details...I inquired about my car online and received a quick reply from the owner, Robert, inviting me to come in for a test drive. When I arrived the next day, Robert was out, so a salesman named Milton helped me out. He was very friendly but didn't know a lot about Porsche (which he was very honest and upfront about, I respect that). He did that car salesman thing I hate-whenever I had a question, concern, or counter offer, he had to step away to the mysterious "head office" to get an answer. All dealerships do this and it drives me crazy- either empower your staff to make decisions or send me to the decision maker. When I asked if the price had any wiggle room, the response was, "that may help your pocketbook but it will hurt our bottom line." Weird comment, but he then showed me the Blue Book value which made me feel better. How about convince me that it's worth it and not guilt me about "bottom lines"- after all, that's not my concern. lol When I decided to take the leap, and stated I had to dash to the bank for a cashier's check, he replied that he could not promise it would be there if I left for 30 minutes!! Um, really? You can't give a cash customer a short holding period? I took my chances, it was there when I returned. ;) I asked for a full tank of gas (I test drove it with the fuel warning light on) and Milton said, "I can try and see what the boss says." He said yes, of course- that's pretty basic customer service 101. Milton also volunteered to have the scratches buffed out and to deliver it to me that evening, but when I finally called to inquire at 6pm, he stated he was busy until 7, and could only do it if I then gave him a ride back! Just tell me that upfront, I could have made arrangements for help on my own. Which I then did. And the scratches were still there when I arrived to take possession- he told me about a "guy in the neighborhood" who may do it "for $25." No thanks, I guess I'll figure it out. Disappointing. On a positive note, the co-owner was able to review my sales contract and explain my registration info quickly and professionally so a shout out to her! Again, I love my car...but the buying experience could stand to improve.

My experience with R/T Motorsports has been anything but positive. I was looking for a reliable…read moreused car that was bigger than the car I owned. The salesperson that I dealt with was extremely nice and I felt comfortable buying an 03 Infiniti M45 after having my dad (who manages a major vehicle repair shop in the city) check the car out and do a test drive. No major problems had presented themselves, so I went ahead on financing the car. (At this time the salesperson also told me that they would fix the drivers seat, which did not move forward, and this was never done. I also told him that my dad said the tires were unsafe but he tried to feed my a line about it-even after my dad pointed out the radial.) After two weeks of bending over backwards to provide R/T and the financing company with all of the paperwork they needed (which in the opinion of my boss, who used to be a finance manager for a BIG car sales company in town, was a ridiculous and unnecessary amount of paperwork) the car began to have problems. It would shut off in the middle of driving and the RPM's would rage out of control. I called the sales person at R/T and he had me bring the car down for his mechanic to look at. I was called the next day and told that the problem was fixed. Long story short, I took my car back to them 3 times and every time the problem was "fixed", but after completing the drive cycles the problem would start again. After a month of this runaround (I live on the opposite side of town and just the gas money to try to get the problem "fixed" was outrageous) and after my first payment to the financing company, the problem was now so bad that I couldn't drive my car without all the warning lights flashing and engine shutting off. I finally took my car to my dad's shop and the mechanic immediately upon hooking it up to the diagnostic machine told me that there was no way that they could have fixed the problem, because the codes were only such that the dealer could read them! Now, my estimate from the dealer (who said that they have previous experience with this car, and it's always had problems) is $5,000. This on top of the $10,000 that I financed. I feel very taken advantage of. If R/T Motorsports couldn't figure out what the problem was then they shouldn't have outright LIED that the problem was fixed. The dealer also mentioned that the odds of R/T getting a legitimate Smog were little to none. I would never recommend anyone to this dealer. I am now in such debt and without a car, it has turned my life upside down. I don't believe that R/T has a knowledgeable or competent mechanic team or staff. BEWARE!

My car was trashed and the issue wasn't even resolved!…read more I took my vehicle in because the engine light was on. I explained the issue and they had me drop my vehicle off. The shop had it for a few days. There was a miscommunication with my warranty information so when I finally was able to pick up my vehicle they attempted to charge me almost 1K. I informed them that it's under warranty and I was told when I dropped it off that my payment would be no more than $100, and had signed a form stating so. The employee apologized and contacted the employee that they were filling-in for. After everything got situated, the entirety of the work completed on my vehicle was covered under warranty. When getting into my vehicle, I noticed that the glove compartment was all dirty and scuffed. Which I knew was new dirt considering I had just got the vehicle detailed. It was a significant amount and almost looked like mud and grease. There was also no plastic protection covering over the seat and no paper placed down on the floor mats; which is common for mechanics to place to keep client vehicles clean while working, and I've had this done on a prior visit at this location. I also had small items hanging in the rear window, decor for the holiday, and it had been broken. After picking up my vehicle, I had it less than a week and had only driven small trips around town. The engine light came back on. I called the shop and they stated that I could bring the vehicle back for it to be reassessed. Since this had been my third time at this shop and given the mistreatment of my vehicle, I decided to get mechanic work done elsewhere. This is 2 stars instead of 1 merely for the front desk employee, who is very polite, understanding, and provided updates when they could.
