I moved to Nevada 2 years ago. I have been to The Muffler Shop twice since then to get my annual smog check. Everytime I have been here, Crystal has demonstrated terrible customer service, which is disappointing given she's the owner and not even one of the technicians. I stayed in the shop my entire appointment, and I witnessed everytime a customer left the desk (no matter how pleasant and kind they were) Crystal would make a face or a snide comment to one of her coworkers. Being in customer service myself as well as a manager, I would be appalled if one of my subordinates conducted themselves this way. From my understanding, Crystal's father was the previous owner of the shop - I see where she gets her entitled attitude, she's more than likely never had looked underneath the hood of car, she's just there to delegate and keep track of appointments. read more

I initially removed my review regarding the negative feedback on the Muffler Shop doing poor work on a simple oil change. The Tech broke the Housing on my wife's 2021 Toyota Four Runner, the service advisor informed me he couldn't get a replacement. He informed me he could get a metal upgrade for 75.00 that was his cost. I told him to fix what they broke. He informed me he couldn't eat the cost of the metal one just the plastic replacement he was unable to acquire. In the end I later learned the metal replacement run approx 35 dollars. Not 75.00 but hey if this is how you now do business overcharge the customer for a part the Tech broke, you will lose more loyal customers. Upon arriving Home I observed a huge oil stain on my driveway. The vehicle was returned to the shop and the leak that they caused was fixed. No offer to have the driveway cleaned, not a big deal but poor business. Move ahead two months later , I took my Truck in to have another oil change performed at a different shop . The mechanic was almost unable to remove my oil filter indicating it was over tightened. Another poor job on my personal truck done at the Muffler Shop. At this point I have found a new shop and don't expect anything from the Muffler Shop not even an apology . Beware this is under new ownership. I'm sure if the service writer was Crystal on the day this took place this little up-charge wouldn't have taken place. 195 for an oil change that took almost 4 hours is ridiculous. Hey Yelpers! It was time to renew the registration on my truck and needed a smog check. It's a diesel so finding someplace in Henderson is tricky as there are like two spots. Found The Muffler Shop here in Yelp but there wasn't a recent Elite review. Came in anyway on a Monday after work. So glad that I did. The guys were great. Got the truck checked in quickly and was told it would be about 15 minutes. Couldn't have been more than ten and cost less than expected. More than a typical vehicle, but VERY reasonable. I don't want to put a price on here because things can change. I will say that if you pay $80 somewhere, you paid too much! I will be back here next year for sure. If I needed muffler work, I would also look here first. Keep them on your radar!!! read more

Had motor mount and transmission mounts done on jeep wrangler but when I it it back the motor mount on passenger side had a bolt so loose that I could spin it with fingers went and said something to them all the said was sorry didn't offer to do anything not even a torque on the loose bolt Did I do something to somebody wrong to receive such service I know my money is green and yall got paid handsomely for the job what's the problem Don't go here they don't really care they just want your hard earned money for half the service read more

Had my exhaust replaced as had a decent size hole. They said could weld it but couldn't be certain another issue wouldn't happen later on. I decided to have them just replace the exhaust. After doing business with this shop since it opened it pains me to stop going there . The original owner sold the place and it moved to a different location but the same people working there. Just had my oil change on my truck and the kid at the desk advised me to change my air filter and I said yeah go ahead but then he told me it would cost ,,,,,,, $150.00 for a filter . I can't even imagine why he would try to pull that on me , if that's what this place has become I guess I'll start doing my own changes again. read more

Overall this shop did great work, I dropped my truck off for a resonator fix and to straighten the tips. The truck was returned with a leaking exhaust due to a clamp not being fully tightened which should have been caught when the vehicle was started. read more

I have a dually diesel I need to get a smog on every year. I used to go to a place on American Pacific and Stephanie. They were reasonable and offered a $20 coupon. This year, a few days ago like a creature of habit I drove back to the same place I've been going for the last 3 years and when I arrived, there was a huge wooden sign saying their machine was broken and the place looked deserted. I talked to some people who work next door and they said this place has been closed for several months now. I asked if they knew who did smogs on diesel and they referred me to a place on Charleston & Jones. I called them and the price they charge is OUTRAGEOUS for a smog but they did say they would give me $20 off. The Muffler Shop was still cheaper and way closer. I then remembered that after getting a smog last year, a fellow Yelper sent me a message to check The Muffler Shop near Water street saying they have very reasonable prices. I called The Muffler shop and the girl said they were open until 4:30 and the price for a dually diesel smog was $45. I shot right over there, checked in and the mechanic who did the smog was so professional and friendly. The shop is a nice shop and they seem to be very busy, so the fact they got me in right away and took care of my needs was so greatly appreciated. I can't really comment on the other mechanical work as I did not have anything done here other then a smog, but everyone seemed happy and friendly, even the customers coming and going. I recommend you try this place and leave your own review. I like them and if I need work done, I will go here first and will definitely be back next year for another smog. NOT THE MUFFLER SHOP IT USED TO BE!!!! Ownership changed and apparently so did the smog equipment. They used to be my go to place for Diesel Smog. They're cheap, I'll give them that. If you're on a budget and don't mind rude, inconsiderate and incompetent people, this is your place. If you don't mind paying more, Jiffy Smog (Hot Rod Hill) on American Pacific will get the job done quickly, professionally and with some actual customer service. read more

I took my Nissan Altima in last week to have the a/c looked at due to blowing out hot air. They said there was a leak in the system and the hose needed to be replaced at a cost of $600 + well as we all know its hotter than hell here in Nv. so I had them complete the work. I picked up my car and the a/c is still blowing out hot air, I spoke to Dave on Friday and he said to bring my car back in at the beginning of the week, so last night 6/18/23 I dropped my car off so they could look at this morning 6/19/23 and see why it is still blowing out hot air. I get a text message from them telling me that I need to replace the compressor and the cost will be $2,112.00!!! My first questions is WHY WASNIT THE COMPRESSOR checked at the same time they checked the hoses etc. had they done this they would have seen that the compressor needed to be REPLACED & then given me the option to say if I wanted to have it done or not!! INSTEAD they made me believe that it was just my hose that had a leak and all would be ok once the new hose was replaced. I have been going to this place for years and have never had any issues with their work or honesty, that was until today. I told them I want to be reimbursed because I feel they replaced my a/c hose and charged me freaking $600 + basically for nothing. Their reply and I quote was "the hose replaced previously is what likely started the failure of the compressor" NO WHAT STARTED THE FAILURE WAS THEM NOT CHECKING THE COMPRESSOR WHEN THEY CHECKED THE HOSES ETC...OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKE & REIMBUSE ME!! There solution to this issue was to say that they would put my $600 + towards the $2,112.00 cost to replace the compressor!!! Sure let me just give you another $1,512.00!! if they are willing to put my cost of $600 + that I already paid them towards the work to put a new compressor in then why aren't they willing to reimburse me?? There is absolutely no context. "...why we have been trying to do this for years". what is "this"? If you want to be understood, provide a little detail, please. There is no reference to anything. Seems it was just an afterthought. No substance.. The third sentence . . . "Karen" told you three times...". The second in-kind-rejoinder to my sarcastic remark. Not as clever, but still good and appreciated. He said/she said is a tangential issue and was meant to support the primary issue, which is simply inappropriate behaviour. This shop is quick, efficient, and very welcoming. On a Monday my vehicle had a "low engine oil pressure" light on. I was referred to this shop by a friend of mine. I called and they were able to squeeze me in on Wednesday. When I showed up to my appointment Wednesday I was greeted with a smile. They retrieved my keys and located the issue. Jeremy ordered the part on the spot and had it delivered within 20 minutes. I was out within the hour and back to work. I will be going back to the Muffler Shop for future work on my vehicle. After going to a Brake shop and being told I needed a complete brake job I got referred to The Muffler Shop. I made an appointment with Christi and when I went in they took the car and inspected my brakes and was told that I needed new pads for the front and rear brakes and that was it. I wanted to get my mufflers deleted so I made an appointment. I said I wanted to delete both mufflers and keep my resonator. I dropped my car off and came back two hours later and they only took one muffler out. I asked if they deleted both or just one and they said oops, didn't realize there were two you're gonna have to come back. I'm going to be going elsewhere to get the job finished properly. How can you not realize there are two mufflers when you're in there deleting the one? Way to do half the job guys. Update. Dave, please forgive the vernacular as I'm not a professional. If you really watched the video with audio you'll know I was told I had to pay another $125 for the next appointment. You'll also see that I complained about not being called while my car was in the air and that I was expecting to at least have an option to pick an exhaust tip out. The tech was out at lunch and I felt like no one wanted to give me the time of day. I was told I had to come back days later to even discuss it. Why should I be patient and give another chance when I was told I'd have to pay again and just got shoved out of the shop? This is a joke. That's why I didn't answer your calls or respond to you, because after my experience I want nothing to do with you or your shop. Made an appointment 5 days in advance when I get there at 2:30pm they say there too busy I need to leave my truck overnight or come in the morning. Sorry no, this is my only vehicle, and how do I know I won't be canceled on again. There reasoning is that a Tech is out due to having a baby the night before. Hey I get it life happens, but Instead of calling me first thing in the morning at 8am when they knew they were short staffed they decided to wait 6.5 hours, have me drive over only to tell me they can't help me. I took a half day at work to do this..... thanks. You'd think a shop that charges a premium vs every other local shop would be more organized. I received a flyer in the mail for smog test for diesel vehicles. I even called ahead of time and ask them if they did it. The lady on the phone didn't ask me the specifics of my car. I drove half an hour to be told that they don't do it for my specific car. Seriously?! Poor customer service, respect peoples time! read more

Mother in law brought her van to have a window regulator and assembly replaced. After 350$ she was on her way. Two years later her window suddenly drops in the door. My husband goes to fix it. Looking at the old one he found a spot where it was drilled out. It appeared to be sabotaged, so it would fail and she would bring it back so she could spend another 350$. read more

Today I brought my 2022 f150 in for an aftermarket exhaust install. 8 o'clock appointment and they had the doors open early. (Good sign) literally installed it within 20-30 min. Great work from the installer. Didn't get his name. Suggested tacking the tips on so nobody could mess with them.
