My car was trashed and the issue wasn't even resolved! I took my vehicle in because the engine light was on. I explained the issue and they had me drop my vehicle off. The shop had it for a few days. There was a miscommunication with my warranty information so when I finally was able to pick up my vehicle they attempted to charge me almost 1K. I informed them that it's under warranty and I was told when I dropped it off that my payment would be no more than $100, and had signed a form stating so. The employee apologized and contacted the employee that they were filling-in for. After everything got situated, the entirety of the work completed on my vehicle was covered under warranty. When getting into my vehicle, I noticed that the glove compartment was all dirty and scuffed. Which I knew was new dirt considering I had just got the vehicle detailed. It was a significant amount and almost looked like mud and grease. There was also no plastic protection covering over the seat and no paper placed down on the floor mats; which is common for mechanics to place to keep client vehicles clean while working, and I've had this done on a prior visit at this location. I also had small items hanging in the rear window, decor for the holiday, and it had been broken. After picking up my vehicle, I had it less than a week and had only driven small trips around town. The engine light came back on. I called the shop and they stated that I could bring the vehicle back for it to be reassessed. Since this had been my third time at this shop and given the mistreatment of my vehicle, I decided to get mechanic work done elsewhere. This is 2 stars instead of 1 merely for the front desk employee, who is very polite, understanding, and provided updates when they could. read more

I had written a post before about my ac and someone replied. I just want to make something clear. My ac compressor is NOT leaking. Not had is ever been leaking. I went somewhere else and They put dye in the system and reassured me that the compressor was fine. Then they did a recharge and magically my ac was cold again. I understand you want to back your mechanics but when they are constantly wrong maybe it's time to get new ones. Just like my sons "shattered rotors" that were perfectly intact. Don't try to make yourself look better when you company is not doing their jobs. I thought I could trust you guys and obviously I was wrong. read more

I feel so lucky to have found this place, even though a took a bit of "luck" along the way. Let me explain: A friend had referred me to a highly YELP rated auto repair shop for my 30,000 mile service. With a road trip planned during some of the hottest temps (July 2021), I felt it important enough to squeeze the service in before the trip. When trying to book an appointment at the "other" place, they weren't able to get my car serviced in an appropriate amount of time, so I asked who they might suggest instead of themselves - without a moments delay the guy said "I've heard several good things about Christensen on Sunset". I phoned and when John answered I was greeted by an enthusiastic, informative, and questioning person. When I dropped the car off we discussed my needs. Was assured they'd get my service done in time. A few hours later I was called and advised the service was done. When I picked it up the price was exactly what I had been quoted. There was no "B.S. Fast Talking Sales Pitch" about what else I should have done. This was a huge, and refreshing surprise! They did advise that in the next fifteen to thirty thousand miles that I'd probably be needing a brake job and they were there when I was ready for it. I don't do many reviews, but when you find someone or place that is exceptional - it's worth sharing with others. read more

My Audi had an oil leak so I took it to a mechanic who told me everything I wanted to hear and over charged me only to give me my car back a month later worse than how I took it in. They offered to fix it and keep it longer, but I was so upset I didn't want them to touch my car anymore. I chose Christensen because it was the closet auto shop and my car wasn't drivable so I had it towed to them. They gave me a diagnosis and it was a reasonable price. They had my car in the shop about a day or two. And I drove her out with no issues. That was last year in November, still haven't had any issues with my car. I'm very grateful to the mechanic's and the manager for everything. Most of all peace of mind, I rely on my car daily as I'm sure most of us do. A good and trustworthy mechanic is a must. Had fuel pump replaced at Desert Inn, not happy w/them. Went to Sunset because my fuel gauge wasn't working after 1st repair. 2 fuel pumps, a blown fuel line while driving, and a car that now won't accept fuel (pukes it out like it senses it's full) and Joe, the mgr, tells me today they're not going to do anything about it AND that he didn't think the fuel pump(s) didn't need to be replaced! Done to 'satisfy customer' & make me happy. What a nightmare. No integrity, apparently no skills or sense either. NIGHTMARE COMPANY! First time customer who had to return a dozen times for 'diag & replacement' of original problem for new problems. Won't go back, will go to BBB & CC company for resolution. Very disappointed in this business. Took my car in because a screw fell out of my steering wheel and it was loose. Great news is they fixed that perfectly. Bad news is in the process they disconnected my horn. Which I didn't notice until I was almost ran off the road the following day going to work. Called them told them about the horn they were great said bring it in and we'll fix it the guy working on ur car unplugged the horn because it kept going off while he was fixing it. I was so grateful, still really thought I'd found a great mechanic. They messed up but hey they were willing to fix it right! Great so they fix the horn. We go to leave and as soon as we pull on the street my Airbag light goes off saying I now have NO AIRBAG. Turn immediately around go back. And they proceed to tell me they "hooked me up twice" already (I was charged $150 to replace the screw or pin or whatever they called it for the steering wheel. And when I came back for the horn they didn't charge me even though they apparently had to use a $7 part to fix it, I'm not sure why because it was working before I brought it in) and to fix my airbag will be $1000+. I'm sorry but my horn and airbag were Both working properly before I took my car in to you. I will not be paying $1000+ to fix something Your mechanic broke while fixing another issue. That is not my fault. So disappointed this is how you treat your customers when this issue is no fault of mine. So for now myself and my 6 year old are driving around in a car with no airbags. And I have no clue if it's just the steering wheel airbag or if all the airbags are undone. Thanks to Christensen Automotive I now feel so unsafe. read more

if I had a choice to leave no stars I would this place is very dishonest...I went to get an oil change in my truck and was told my truck needed 7 quarts of synthetic oil @ $90.00 when my truck only holds 5 quarts.. I week later I hear knocking in my engine I go and check the oil and it was never done.. Dark Dirty oil, Now I might need a new engine! I used to go to the car dealership for all my auto care but after hitting 120k miles I started taking it to another mechanic. From day one this place has been consistent with its service. I recall bringing in thinking I needed new brakes to only be told that they were fine and do not need any attention to for awhile. In my experience most mechanics would have fixed them regardless and take advantage of the situation. Not here. And for that reason I come back. The prices are great, the staff is nice and everything is consistent. I will be back. read more

my car was heating up on the hwy. I took it in to get thermostat changed they charged 1.5 hours to change a thermostat that takes 15 minutes but didn't put it in with the groves so it jammed open and caused more problems on the trip home. Also the so called rad cleaner they used totally plugged the rad and I had to put in a new one ! thank you very much !they did give an estamate for shocks on rear that they said were leaking. funny how they must have got healed on the trip home cause they both are totally dry and working very well. My brake pads were worn out on rear also they said, but they were put in new 2 months before , and have almost no wear on them. All in all, I for 1 am very disappointed in a shop that says they are there to help , but, really only want the money. Because no one else knows about the mechanics of their car. Sorry guys but I know my car !! I spent $500 dollars on a repair that was not repaired .I do NOT recomend these guys !! read more

This place is amazing from start to finish they really are top notch. My car started having all kinds of signals going off and when I called around everyone said they could see my in 1-2 weeks I needed it fixed same day. They were able to provide me with a ride to my house then within a couple hours diagnose the issue and were honest in saying it may take until the next day but has already confirmed with my insurance that we had rental coverage and had the rental already set up. From there they were able to fix it and found other things covered under the warrant that they could fix. Just amazing!! The entire staff was amazing. Will be going here from here on out. read more

Thanks to the whole team for being responsive, caring, and genuine! But let me you why Mike at the front desk is the real MVP in my situation. My serpentine belt broke loose as I was literally pulling into their parking lot on a late Friday afternoon. The head mechanic and office personnel all rushed out to my vehicle and immediately were able to diagnose the problem. However, they informed me they wouldn't be able to do any repairs for another 3 days because they were extremely busy. I then thanked them for their genuine concern and immediate care. I offered to pay them for the minor work they did out in the parking lot of untangling my serpentine belt that had wrapped around the pullies and ripped off a coolant hose, but they refused to take any money. I thanked their head mechanic, TJ, and Mike at the front desk and told them I was just going to have the truck towed to my home. At that time, Mike said something that I won't forget. He said, "I don't ever want to have a customer leave this shop unsatisfied." He told me he wanted to take a second look at my vehicle that was still stranded in the parking lot. With his energetic, ingenuitive attitude, he had me fixed up and car running in about 20 minutes. These guys have definitely earned my business. I'll be coming in to have my routine truck maintenance done by them as well as any other work needed from now on. read more

Stay AWAY from this place! This place is a SCAM!All they do is take your money, and never resolve any issues! Constantly have to keep going back to fix the same issues or something else they discovered & that's not how it should be! I told them in person & over the phone like "wow I've seen you guys a lot lately" they always respond & say "well that's not the goal, we're here to help" that's a lie! I have seen them multiple times in the last month, picked up my car yesterday, 1 day later, the same issue occurred again! Unresolved! It seems like they turn off the code & give the car back to you, so the check engine light can turn back on again a week later, & they did a temporary fix on my AC by putting in Freon, just so it could go out again 1 week later, but this time my AC went out after this pick up just 1 day later! They have to do this, they have to replace that, it's one big money Pitt, and the issues with my car is still not resolved, my check engine light is back on, my AC doesn't work! What a headache this place has caused me. I will never take my car back here! I don't understand how they can do this to people, unacceptable! Shame on you! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! They completely take advantage of women not knowing a lot about cars. My car was in limp mode when I got there 9/26 and they said I might need a new motor but they have to open it up first.. they called the next day saying they just had to replace camshaft follower and fix the sensor.. $1400 and 8 days later I go to pick up my car and 2 minutes after I leave the parking lot it goes right back into limp mode. I then called back Christensen automotive and asked "Do I need a new motor??" He finally admitted I needed a new motor.. why they didn't tell me this before doing POINTLESS work is beyond me. I got very lucky by calling the dealership and finding out there is a recall on my motor. When I got to the dealership 2 mechanics looked over the work Christensen Automotive did and they both said I was screwed over and that the work they did was never going to fix the problem and once they heard the sound my engine was making they should have KNOWN it needed a motor!! These people/business are terrible I will NEVER go back to any Christensen and I will continue to share my experience so people are aware! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! read more
