My first experience with Bendi was with DoorDash and it was less than stellar. My coworker recently catered a lunch with Bendi and everything I had was delicious, so I decided to actually visit the restaurant to see if my feelings about this spot would change. They have a small parking lot which is helpful since parking can be challenging in this area. They have some outside seating and a small but cute dinning room with a bar. It was such a gorgeous day, I sat outside. I ordered the Penang curry with chicken and a couple of egg rolls. This is what I ordered via DoorDash, and it is one of my favorite dishes so I wanted to keep in consistent for my review. The waitress was attentive and friendly. It isn't busy at all. There is only one other couple dining during this lunch hour. The table outside is a mesh-top table, which is concerning, especially when you have a dish with sauce. When places don't provide a placemat, you risk food getting on your lap and pants. This would be a simple suggestion and fix. The egg rolls came out first. The presentation was really nice. They were nice and crisp, not soggy, like some places. The dipping sauce was perfect. I thought they were delicious. We are off to a good start! The Penang curry came out looking delicious. It was nothing like my DoorDash meal. The portions were good. Fair amount of chicken. Loved the flavor and spice. Some of the best flavor I've had in this dish in a long time. This dish came with rice. I don't know what happened with my DoorDash order, so I'm happy I stopped in to give them another chance. I have no reservations recommending you check out this delicious spot in the town. I can't wait to come back and try out some other dishes. I also bring friends! read more

Everything I ate at Bendi Wok N Bar was fantastic! We started with drinks & I ordered a Pink Elephant that has some fragrant citrus notes and gin, it was delicious! For appetizers we got the crab rangoon's, pretty standard, the sauce that came with them had a nice tang. The sticky noodles with pork were so flavorful and I loved the texture of them. The portion was a nice size as well, I had some to take home. As for the environment, the inside of the restaurant was beautiful, the lanterns that hung from the ceiling were fun! They also had anime on the TV, so bonus points for that. The service was quick and the staff was very friendly, and answered any questions I had. This place was a lot of fun. Came in on a Friday evening before going to the garden theater to see Rocky horror picture show, which was an absolute blast. Started off with a crab Rangoon at happy hour prices, was very impressed and pleased with the appetizer. I then had a chicken sandwich of sorts. That was nothing really special, but tasted extremely and surprisingly fresh. Got a Manhattan before dinner and was so pleased with what I was eating that I ordered a sake For after. I have no idea which sake I got, left it to the waiters discretion, and was not disappointed. I expected the chicken to be spicy, and it had a bit of a flare to it, but not over the top. Need to come back and try some other menu items with a little bit more kick. Our server was fast and friendly, and the ambiance in the place was very unique to an Asian restaurant, although there was an anime cartoon on the TVs the whole time which had me captivated. I was on a business trip and craving Thai food, so I came here after seeing all the great reviews. Honestly, I left pretty disappointed. I started with the summer rolls, which came out super cold--almost like they'd been sitting in the fridge for a while. For my main, I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. There were only four shrimp in the whole dish, and the flavor was way too sweet. I've had drunken noodles plenty of times before, and they're definitely not supposed to taste like dessert. This place is AMAZING!! The decore is very beautiful, brilliant red lanterns hanging from the ceiling, pretty decore on the walls and a good selection of seating choices! The menu had a lot of really good looking dishes and I chose 'Sticky Noodles with Pork' each bite was full of flavor and scrumptious texture. From the flopmy noodles and tender egg to the crispy Garlic and crisp fresh carrot garnish; I thoroughly enjoyed each mouthful! The service was good and the wait time to actually get our food was speedy. BUT the food was a miss. The gyoza was the one thing that i did enjoy. However. The steak and peppers dish was so mid. I genuinely counted 6 pieces of steak. Good thing i was not paying the bill bc that was not worth it. All i had on my plate was rice after 6 bites. Then the sticky noodles were so bland... so i had 2 entrees that were a complete miss during my visit... which to me is an indicator that i should not come back. First time back to Bendi Wok in quite awhile! The restaurant was deserted when we showed up for dinner at 5pm, but every table was full when we left after 6:30! Service was slow to start, it was 5 minutes before we even got menus, but another server took over towards the end and checked on us very frequently. They've changed their cocktail menu, I didn't notice low alcohol or higher alcohol drinks like they used to have. They also really don't have any mocktail options that don't have CBD in them. Great little cozy environment, our waiter was phenomenal, drinks were great, and the food was a nine out of 10. If I had to say one thing that I see room for improvement on, it would be the amount of protein in their dishes. The ribs were unbelievably tender and the pickled vegetables beneath were such a great accompaniment. If you enjoy a coconut based curry flavor then I could see you enjoying the Panang Bang Shrimp. We ordered the Singapore noodles, spice level 1 and they were exceptional; full of flavor with crisp vegetables. Our server suggested we try the current house sake which was green apple flavored; very refreshing. He also suggested the HAKUTSURU JUNMAI GINIO sake which we got a full bottle of. It was on the drier side in my opinion but very smooth and had hints of melon; sorta reminded me of a rice wine version of Riesling. We came for dinner on a Monday evening around 6pm. They were pretty busy, the only available spots were outside or at the bar, so we chose the bar. We started with the jungle bird and kodama cocktails. Both were well balanced and hit the tiki spot. For food we got the lettuce wraps, green curry with tofu, and pad Thai with pork. Everything was fantastic, highly recommend. My only complaint was that service was a little bit slow, we ordered our appetizer and then our entree order wasn't taken until about half way through our app. So we waited a bit for the entrees, but we sat right by the kitchen and saw how many to go orders they had lined up. Even though I ordered my noodles with no spice, they still had a little kick, which I appreciated, but some people might need to keep that in mind. The singapore noodles were also very good, I loved how thin they were. The sause that came with the vegetable tempura was so good! Our server was incredibly nice even though he was quite busy! Bendi gets it right on several levels. The vibe of this place is amazing. The decor perfectly fits the diverse pan-Asian cuisine and enhances the experience. The two oversized 'throne' chairs are a great touch if you're lucky enough to get that table. The TV in the main dining room usually plays shows inspired by Asian culture such as anime or movies with predominantly Asian cast members. Then layer on the music which is chill R&B/Pop that fits the vibe, and you're already having a great time. They back it up with the food, too. In my two visits, I've had portions of their Chicken Panang Curry, General Tso's Chicken and Karaage Chicken Banh Mi. All were very flavorful and good, and the bread on the Banh Mi was perfect. The Korean Ribs are very, very good as well. They also low-key have one of the best beer menus from a quality and value standpoint with local crafts ranging from $5-$6 and quality imports for $7-$8. What a gem! We started off with the summer rolls and they were absolutely delicious. The pickled veggies really brighten them up and the shrimp was nice and fresh. Peanut sauce was delicious as well. I had the veggie bahn mi and it was delicious- my only hold up is that the bread was just ok. The tofu was flavorful and the veggies were delicious. Cauliflower Fried Rice with chicken was a great light option- the cauliflower instead of rice was still very flavorful and the chicken was well cooked. And how could I forget the fries- originally i'm thinking "a bahn mi with fries? ehh" but these fries, in the best way possible, are like McDonalds fries on the best day.
