Taking the trailer for a check out trip. Came to our favorite place. Lots of shade, nice hosts and near the wineries. Weather was great. Not many people in the park but was during the week. Good for us. We sat outside a couple of evenings to watch the sun set. Lots of birds. Lots of cats. We even got our trailer washed and waxed. Bending Oaks gave us the name of a rv service. Extreme RV. Great job. Saw trailers from all over. A huge one with Alaska plates. As it gets closer to super summer, you are going to want some shade. read more

From the moment you hit the resort, you are greeted by amazing staff! They drive you to your spot, give you a Welcome information packet, and help in any way. The grounds are wonderfully maintained and the sites are very shaded. Walking around the area is so peaceful and there is a lot to see. We had 3 pups with us (there are a lot of cats) so that might create a issue with dogs. Just a note, the cats are all over and plentiful, but not once did they ever bother us or create an issue. We camp at Bending Oaks every Fall and have an enjoyable time with our group of friends in Fredericksburg and surrounding areas. The campground and dog park are well maintained and staff are super friendly and helpful. The restrooms and laundry room are clean and functional. They can accommodate large groups with advance notice. A special kudos to Stacy, who checked on us regularly and helped our elderly friend have an enjoyable and relaxing time, as well. read more

We had an excellent stay at Bending Oaks. They used to be a KOA site and continue to run everything smoothly. They communicated well through the whole process and gave very clear instructions. The site was very well-maintained. Some of the sides do not have trees, but we were fortunate to have some shade. The pool was a welcoming respite after checking out the wineries (so many very close by!). The public restrooms/showers were clean and well-maintained. We really enjoyed our stay at Bending Oaks and plan to return! read more

Had a really nice stay at Bending Oaks. We were looking for a spot with 50 amp hookups and wanted some trees and didn't want to be close to the road. We were calling around Fredericksburg last minute but they said they had just the spot for us so we reserved it. The check-in was smooth and they guided us to our spot. The park hosts were super friendly and nice. The spot was secluded, level, had lots of shade, convenient hookups, and we got a kick out of the numerous cats and kittens in the park. The longhorns were cool too. Made new friends as we happened to go at the same time as an Airstream rally and we are first time Airstreamers. Would recommend Bending Oaks. read more

We stayed for four days at this KOA in Fredericksburg Texas and it didn't disappoint. The campgrounds were very clean and tidy. The KOA team was pleasant and helpful. The trees are trimmed and kept beautiful. There is a short horn and a huge Texas longhorn that reside next to the property and are fun to look at. This KOA has a nice fenced in dog park and also wide open spaces for the dog to walk on the leash. We look forward to returning. I have to admit I did miss the smell and the glow of the campfires in the evenings but There are so many beautiful trees in the campground and there always seems to be a bit of a wind in the hill country so I understand their no fire policy. read more

We wanted to go somewhere fairly close by for our first RV trip. We started looking around & called Bending Oaks. Bruce was so friendly that we decided to book immediately. We were sent directions, rules & all the info we could possibly need for our stay there. The morning of our stay Sharon called to make sure we knew how to get there & to give us directions on what to do when we arrived. As we arrived a nice man walked right up to our window & led us on a golf cart to our spot. We didn't even wait at the gate for him for a full minute! He led us to our pull thru lot. The property is well maintained & clean. There are also cute little cabins that you can rent. Our spot was great & right next to a tree. There was also a picnic table on our spot. Our connections were all located very conveniently & everything was clean & easy to set up. After we got everything connected, we went to the pool. It is summer time & of course, there are kids everywhere you go...... You can't go to a pool during the summer & relax without kids yelling, screaming & jumping all over you BUT AT Bending Oaks you CAN because it is only for ADULTS 21 & over. We really enjoyed relaxing in the pool. We met a lot of great people & had great conversations. Stacy came by the pool on her golf cart about 15 mins before she was going to close it so she could warn us that she was going to come back soon & close everything up. She was great! I chatted w her again later that evening before we went into the RV for the night. We had talked about going into Fredericksburg for dinner or to hang out w the new friends that we had made at the pool (they'd invited us to go to the Velvet Lounge for karaoke) but we decided to just shower & stay in for the night bc the area was just so nice & serene. There wasn't any highway noise or loud guests. We spent the next day enjoying downtown Fredericksburg & the surrounding vineyards. Our last morning we packed up, disconnected & then walked over to see the Longhorns before we left. Yes, there are longhorns on the property that were cool to go so see & take pics with. I'm a Texan so they aren't that uncommon for me but I still think they are photo worthy. There are also a lot of cats on the property BUT they didn't bother us at all (& we are dog lovers). There are also chickens on the property. You are even able to buy fresh eggs here. I highly recommend buying a dozen (or 3 ). There is nothing like fresh eggs! The morning we checked out we stopped by the office just to say bye & thank the staff for a great first RV experience. We met Corinne & Rick. (I hope I have their names right) They were both so kind! We really enjoyed talking to them about the world of RV'g. To be honest, we loved this place so much that part of me didn't want to leave a review bc I wanted to keep it our little secret BUT this place really was too great not to share. (& as an Elite reviewer, it wouldn't be very nice or "Elite" of me not to share this amazing experience!) The staff is 5 stars. The property is 5 stars. The area is perfect. There is a Shell gas station right next door & you are surrounded by vineyards/wineries & only 10 mins from main street Fredericksburg. So, the location is 5 stars. I guess if you are looking for an RV park w a ton of amenities then you might not be as pleased as we were but we didn't book here to play shuffleboard or float in a lazy river. We came to relax in a safe, quiet, clean place where we could take a dip in the pool (even though we have one at home) & be close to a few wineries. (Also, so we could try out the RV & not be too far fr home in case something went wrong). Thank you to the amazing staff! This is one of the least welcoming RV parks we've been to. We've never really encountered rude camp hosts so we were pretty shocked. And when we saw all the cats at our site we asked for another spot..nope. We were treated quite rudely when we arrived (5:15) and the place was absolutely empty. Other than the camp staff I think there was one or two other RVs. So...If you love lots of cats then this is your place. But If you have a dog, it's not a great choice. There are tons of free roaming cats, on your chairs, table, and in your stuff if it's left open. And no one cleans up after them. They are fed and cared for by the camp hosts so they are not going away. They even have a printout they give you at check in explaining that they care for them.."The Cat RV Park" Drove our dog crazy barking nonstop. . Otherwise it's close to Fredericksburg and has nice shade trees. If it wasn't for the cat spray, cat poop smell and cat prints all over the table etc it would be fairly nice. I'm sure there are better choices:) with nicer staff. Doubtful we will be returning. read more

Very nice place to stay. They meet you at the gate and guide you to your spot. Lots of shade, which is not the norm for RV parks. The place is nice and clean, and very quiet. The park host/ security lady on the golf cart was very friendly and stopped by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves a couple of times. Everything about this park is just about perfect. We have stayed several times and will continue to as long as the current owners and management remain the same. This place is so very well run::maintenance is well done. Reservations are handled in a most efficient manner. The day of travel you receive a confirmation call that is an extraordinary service. Sites are level and all connections work. Security is beyond other parks we have visited. Check in and site "situating "--putting your rv in the best spot for hooking up to water and power are aided by a welcoming host. We love to visit this area and our friends do as well. Herein lies the biggest problem- no buddy sites nor parking "backwards "to face each other. Not a terrible problem. Our last stay- this past weekend- it rained the entire time. While not able to grill or cook outdoors, we managed 3 wonderfully shared meals with our friends inside our trailers. The local HEB even cooperated by selling cooked Seafood which made for a great feast. We are all empty nesters and love children. However the no one under 21 rule makes for a much quieter and calmer stay. We have come to love this RV park and will continue to visit at every opportunity Thanks again for a lovely weekend and see you soon. read more

We are on our second decade of rving and have stayed in 100s of parks. We've never been to a park that is run like this one. The park is pretty rule heavy, so if you want a place to just relax and not have to interact with the hosts a ton this isn't the place. The manager escorts you to your site and cruises around on a golf cart and visits the site every hour or so, she was very nice though. The pool is decent but closes at dusk and was closed due to cleaning on the last day. In all fairness there was a heavy storm the night before, but If it was my park I would be up early addressing it (owners live in a house onsite I'm told). It's a clean park and the spots we were in where level. They do not allow you to buddy park (face the other way in your site to face your fellow rver in the next site) They have a key card entrance and gate arm to block any unwanted vehicles from coming In. read more

If you like cats then this is the place for you. Seriously 100's of stray cats that they feed and trap. Unfortunately we were at a site RIGHT NEXT to the feeding station. I can't express how many cats there are. Laying on our vehicles, the steps to our rv, in our chairs, on our picnic tables, under the rv's. Cat shit every where. We stepped in cat shit and tracked it in our RV. GROSS!! These people should let their visitors know that there are cats everywhere but then again bad for business. Could not open our windows due to my apparent cat allergy kicking in. So instead of cooling the rv with the cool air outside we had to use the a/c. So frustrating. I booked this stay when this RV Resort was listed as a KOA. A week before my trip, I was called and told the Resort was no longer a KOA. I was told everything was the same, it was not. I enjoy KOA's for the family atmosphere, the energy, the fun as I am on vacation. This Resort now Bending Oaks RV Resort is BORING. I am 51 yrs old, so I am not young and not traveling with children. BUT there is NOTHING going on at this Resort. Save your money and park at a Rest Stop, that is about equal excitement. This Resort advertises it is fun? There was zero FUN. The Resort was 80% empty. They parked us directly next to someone who is a resident of the park. There were rows of empty spaces, but they put us directly next to this resident. Literally with the pop outs on both RV's there was about 12 inches between us. There is no entertainment, no bingo, no office, no gift shop. Basically it was like camping in someone's backyard. I asked about shuttle service to the wineries or downtown and was told to call a cab. But cab cannot come into the resort, so you have to walk out of the resort. The owners/hosts are not friendly or welcoming. It was definitely people over 50 only, so if you are young and want to talk outside, laugh, cook, campfire or anything outside your unit, it us frowned upon. Basically it is a 55+ retirement RV park with mostly permanent residents. I do not recommend if your coming to Fredericksburg to have a fun good time to stay here because once you come back from the fun in Fredericksburg, it ends. read more

Such a nice place to "hang your hat" when in a very popular tourist destination. Convenient location, friendly, helpful staff. Many nice upgrades since leaving the KOA franchise. This was my husband and my second stay at this great RV Park. We first came in October 2021 with friends and even then had a great stay. All the rules the park has makes for a excellent stay. Like everything in life there are rules but if you follow them it makes for a great time. Plus the rules aren't any big deal - unless you go over 5 mph - which my husband had a tendency to do, since my reminding him didn't work, Stacy's did! But I can understand because I want others to not go fast by my site so ..... Regardless the rules, come and stay or not, you will miss out and others will enjoy a better time - it's a gem in the rough, growing into a great park, now only if we had rain for green grass! I would not recommend this park to anyone! They were rude, condescending , treating us like street thugs . First let me address the RV park itself. There were no paved lots for RV . There is gravel that has large areas missing gravel. We were placed with 2 adjoined picnic areas' absolutely no trees for shade or umbrellas. The only tree shade was inundated with red fire ants . There picnic area had HUGE rocks so you could even walk without twisting your ankle and that is with your shoes on . It advertised live music, food , and all different activities. THERE WAS NOT ONE THING TO DO AT THIS PARK . Not kidding , not even an office . This was NOT a resort. More like a cemetery. We have 16 people in our traveling group , all 50 and older . We go on MANY vacations together and this by far the worst ! The MOMENT we arrived; security staff preceded to circle us to watch every move we made. Downright yelled at one of us for speeding. In which he revved the engine in NEUTRAL to get another member's attention on where to park . We were told over and over again not to speed. In which NOONE was! Then kept coming back and harassing us as to what time it was, not to speed, and we needed to start to simmer down. This is RIDUCULIOUS! We were inundated by her the first 5 min we were there. She would not even let us set our RV up . She made a point of speaking to all 16 people that were there and saying at least 20 times to each NO SPEEDING and QUITE TIME 10 pm. Then we got charged for visitors !!! Why ! they were visiting us , not you. She charged them money to visit us! I cannot believe that . We had to pay security right there at that moment. We all came together traveling 6 hours . They were staying at a hotel because your RV facility did not have any more cabins available . Then you charge us for them! Then the breakers for both RV's kept blowing and was told that if they blew , we were not to run our generators. We had a choice to either sleep in 100+ degree rv (90 degrees outside temp) or leave !!! We requested the owner. She was not any better at all. She did not care at all. We argued with her. She did not value us as costumers, her attitude was condescending and cocky and specifically stated , "you don't like it , leave, we do not need you here". We continued to reason with her that we rented these spots because we needed 50 amp breakers. If they could not accommodate, that is not our fault. She started to accuse us of going over 50 amp with all the fans we had . There were 2 window fans that do not even accumulate to 2 amps. She , the owner named LISA, also pointed out our Gas grill ? ??????????????? Let me repeat , GAS GRILL , NO ELECTRIC INVOLVED ! We checked the gauges on each RV , one was pulling 37 amps the other 42 amps. 20 min into this she said that only in an emergency could we runs our generators . We made it clear that she stated if the breakers went out , that was considered an emergency . Thankfully, the breakers did not blow again . Every night we were told by security guard 15 min before quit time and were warned. That was only after they circled RV site every 30 minutes in their golf carts. We were not the only tenants ; however , they never went through the entire rv park. There was a street behind our site where they lived or stayed , not sure. They would come up the street behind us come to the back side of camp and shut their lights off and sit ! REALLY! Let it be known again, we did not break one rule! We gave them no reason to be treated like this. We were quite at 10 pm , we kept the site clean , did not speed. We followed every rule that we were given. And yet we were harassed the entire 4 days we were there . We are a group of well-educated and respectful 50 + adults and do not deserve to be treated this way . read more

The people were very nice and I loved the shady spot we had. Our spot H2 was kind of close to another spot but not too bad. The pool was nice and clean too. The inly down side was the cats everywhere. They would get on your chairs etc. They need to get rid of them. Seriously there were at least 10. They say some have been dumped but not something I liked. Overall a really nice spot and we would stay again, but I will take the proximity of my spot to the place where the cats are fed in mind. read more

We love this park. I am there every June for a music festival where I am the photographer/videographer. Being a 21-and-over park, it is always quiet and well-maintained. The pool is sparkling and clean all the time and we love having the days before the festival to relax and enjoy our surroundings. The sites are level and they have added paver-stone patio areas to many of the sites. They will pick up your trash in the mornings if you put it out, which is handy when I need trash to go out but have all my gear with me too. They check in with you multiple times before you arrive and call you the day of your check-in. They are prompt with entry and lead you directly to your spot. The huge trees on site make for awesome shade - our RV's a/c units don't have to work so hard since nearly every site has some measure of shade. The sites are wide and the entry roads in are easy to navigate, even with our 42+' 5th wheel. The connections are well-maintained and easy to use as well. The owners are great and will help out in any way they can. The park is controlled-access, so you don't have to worry about random people driving through - you get an access card for the gate when you check in, so it's easy to go in and out. I would definitely recommend visiting this park! read more

This is a decent park but unfortunately the owners, specifically Lisa are not customer centric. We had a group with about 10 sites. We were quiet and fed the workers. One night after leaving an event, we had visitors join us for dinner, which we are allowed one per site and we we were within our limit. I will admit, we didn't realize we needed to check everyone in and the office was closed so we didn't think about stopping . Our visitors were quiet and gone by 8:30 but Lisa came to the site and threatened to throw us out for not checking in. We had reserved the pavilion but they did not have that on the books and told us that was not possible. Our mistake could have gotten us thrown out, but theirs had ZERO apology. Even though our experience was not great, we thought about going back for the annual event. When we recently called, Lisa declined our business with no explanation. As a business owner, this is no way to treat customers. I am happy to say we have found a new campground with people that want to have RVers. Look at the other reviews, you will notice a pattern. Aug 10, 2016 UPDATE: We have one more day on this visit in paradise at this KOA. However, this trip we brought some extended family with us that included one of my grandsons that is very mentally challenged. He and his father bent a lot of rules, broke several The little fella did have a good time though. August 11 Update Last night was horrible. Larry the cop is a joke. He pulled us over 3 different times for going 7 mph. My question is how he can distinguish those 2 mph, between 5 and 7. He was very rude and he even came up to my site at 9:30 pm to continue HIS opinion. He was very rude. When I refused his discussion and offered to meet with owners at the office the next morning he exclaimed " I'm not going to be there unless they are paying me to be there" Hopefully things will change with his attitude before we return ! I was very excited to stay here and enjoy wine country. I got a travel trailer in large part so I could come here cost effectively. After booking online I got a call from the location telling me they were cancelling my stay because of my dog (10 yr old Doberman). I explained that she is a certified support animal and was willing to share the paperwork, cert, etc. I explained that federal law says they cannot refuse service because of this. DISCLAIMER: We rented one of their cabins and also camped in tents. The Good: :: people were super nice and friendly :: facilities were clean :: cabin was cute and very clean! inside is a little desk by the window, a space heater, and a window unit for A/C. :: tent spots have water and electrical connections :: cabin has a very solid wooden swing to enjoy on the porch. very nice! :: cabin comes with a nice sized picnic table in front :: store open til early evening for things you may need or forgot to bring. very convenient. they charge a premium for convenience, though. i picked up 10 plastic cups for $2.50 and my sister picked up a small bag of charcoal for $7. ouch. :: pet-friendly :: 24-hr security and monitored entrance The Bad: :: beds in the cabin weren't the most comfortable :: lots and lots of ants :: picnic tables by tent spots weren't in the best shape (warped wood). the cabin picnic tables are much nicer and in better condition. :: cabin was missing a trash can but the tent spots had them :: not all the electrical outlets had adapters for standard plugs (they were the kinds that RVs use) :: the cabin didn't have its own water and electrical connections...???? not sure why not, when the tent spots have them. definitely not convenient. :: i saw more dog poop sitting around than i'd care to see :: wifi was super super weak The Ugly: :: the proximity to the highway (290) makes for VERY VERY loud and awful road noise 24-7, as well as bright lights from vehicles passing through your tent at all hours of the night. i couldn't sleep all night due to hearing 18-wheelers roar by and motorcycles rumbling past. this isn't a problem in the cabin b/c you have walls and the A/C window unit o help drown out noise Would I go back? Probably not for tent camping but possibly for use of their cabins. The proximity to the highway is just too much of a dealbreaker for tent camping. This place is really set up for RV users, so if you are with an RV, you are in luck and will be very content! This place is IN (but very conditionally). read more
