Extreme RV. Great job. Saw trailers from all over. A huge one with Alaska plates. As it gets closer to super summer, you are going to want some shade.

We took our dogs to the bark park to play and everyone was good about picking up their dog's doody. There are doody trash cans and bags throughout the resort. I also used the laundry room and it was very well kept. They have four washers and four dryers. I was able to get quarters in the office. The washers are $2.50 per load, as well as the dryers. The dryers run for 45 min. They also have a store in case you run out of ice, etc. The resort is just off the highway, close to parks, and grocery stores. We will definitely return!!

The grounds are above & beyond what you'd expect. From the minute you drive in the entrance & see the huge windmill & the flags you will know that you have entered a property that is loved and taken pride in. Jamie & B (Bianca) in the front office are friendly & helpful. They gave us easy directions to our spot & gave us plenty of info on things to do at the resort & in the surrounding area. We enjoyed talking to them so much! They were great! We drove across a small bridge in the resort into the Adults Only section & I swear I heard the birds chirping a happy little song welcoming us...lol We looked into the water & my bf said "I wonder if I can fish?! (He could & he did!) We had an end lot in the center. It was a perfect spot w a nice, sturdy metal table & 4 chairs. The area was quiet & peaceful. At night all we could see were stars...and more stars. This is the place to be for stargazing. At the time we still had our 24 ft RV & it fit perfectly. On the outside of the circle in the Adults only area there are huge spaces for larger RV's & motor homes. During our stay we walked up to the office to buy a few things & the prices were actually reasonable compared to other RV resorts we have stayed at. We loved the Adults Only pool & hot tub. We wish more resorts actually thought about the fact that there are a lot of Adults that want to relax at the pool without kids yelling, screaming & splashing them. Some of us are trying to get away for a wknd & relax. At other resorts there are kids running wild everywhere with little to no supervision. If you book here, especially in the Adults Only area, you will actually be able to enjoy a tranquil getaway. You will hear the wind blowing, not kids screaming. Don't worry though, if you're traveling w the Brady bunch you can book one of the many lovely spots in the other section of the resort. There's a pool for everyone that is also very large & nice. There you can enjoy the sounds of your children screaming & splashing with new friends! Speaking of friends, we met some of the most wonderful people on our last trip to Buckhorn Lake. At some RV resorts I have heard /read reviews complaining that long term tenants are unfriendly. Well, we found just the opposite. We met numerous people who stay at Buckhorn for months at a time and they were all so welcoming! One evening we ended up in the front "yard" of an amazing couples spot for hours. They were friends w a bunch of other regulars at the resort also. Our absolute favorite person at this resort has to be Chris! He came into the pool area our first night when we were in the hot tub. He was just making sure everything was turned off (lights) & locked up. There's a code to get into the very clean & nice restrooms. We ended up talking quite awhile. He told us all about the fun events that happen at Buckhorn Lake RV resort. This isn't JUST an RV park. It is truly a resort with plenty to do OR not do. Your choice. My bf had fun fishing in the early morning. (Catch & release) There is a fitness center & game room. They have tennis courts! There is also a really cool outdoor bar area near a big red barn for Happy Hours & Potlucks. They have an awesome theater room where they will soon be having a Super Bowl party. Every wknd they plan activities for their guests. There's no pressure to join but everyone is welcome! Chris takes care of the grounds & even stops by everyone's RV in the mornings to get your trash for you. He has the best personality. He made us want to come back bc he made us feel so welcome. I wish everyone had the kind of positive attitude that he has & loved their job as much as he does. He may never know this but he was a huge reason why our 1st visit to Buckhorn was such an excellent experience. If you ever see this, THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS! If you want to enjoy the Hill Country in the Kerrville area there can't possibly be another place that could come close to being as great as Buckhorn Lake RV resort. This is just my opinion though. The fact that we booked 3 more visits in advance the day we checked out is proof enough! This place books up... Apparently we are not the only people that know how great this place is. We visited Buckhorn the first time in September 2022. I decided to wait & visit more RV resorts before posting my review. I can tell you without a doubt that this resort is excellent. In comparison to others in the Hill Country it has more activities & more amenities. It is definitely more beautiful! Every time someone would leave they would show up and sweep the patio, wipe the table, and rake the gravel. Then when someone was coming into a spot they would come over and double check to make sure everything was in proper order. It is close to all to the fun things to do in Fredericksburg. There is a large communal patio with a fire pit. On Friday nights while we were there, they had wine tastings and then on Christmas Eve they served hot chocolate around the fire pit. They have two dog parks that are well maintained. They seem to employe lots of work-campers and everyone is very friendly. One of the workers that was always out checking and cleaning the sites always had dog treats with him so our Airedale loved to see him. Some of the pull thru sites are a little tight and hard to get into, but other than that we love this park and would stay here again they next time we are in the area.

Be prepared to jump through hoops: they require photos of your license plate, selfies, pictures of your rig, and your vehicle. It's excessive and frustrating. On top of that, we were stuck at the gate for two hours trying to get everything sorted out. Then come the surprise fees... * $30 cleaning fee (for an RV pad?!) * $19 damage insurance * $30 for the first day * $10/day "resort" fees None of this was clearly disclosed when booking over the phone. It feels like a classic bait-and-switch and a complete money grab. Bottom line: nice property, but the booking process, hidden fees, and customer service make it not worth the headache.

10/10 -- A Hidden Gem in the Texas Hill Country!…read more We absolutely loved our stay at Outdoorsy! We booked completely last minute--the day before--and stayed in Suite 16. This place truly feels like a hidden gem, and the entire experience was such a vibe. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff was amazing from beginning to end. The ladies helped us with our luggage via golf cart and were available from 9am - 7pm to shuttle us back and forth to our cars. All we had to do was text the front desk for a ride. Everyone was incredibly sweet, helpful, and full of great local recommendations. You could tell they genuinely enjoyed their jobs, which made the experience even better. Our suite was spacious, comfortable, and really thoughtfully designed. Having a fridge and microwave was such a nice touch, along with robes in the room and all the little amenities that made it feel more like a boutique stay than traditional "glamping." Our site also had its own fire pit, which really completed the Hill Country vibe. One of our favorite surprises was having a deer feeder right outside our door! We were able to watch deer come right up near our site, which was such a peaceful and memorable part of the experience. Between the deer, longhorns, fire pit, and incredible stars at night, you really felt immersed in the Hill Country. Suite 16 is closer to the main road, so you can clearly hear some highway noise. They thoughtfully provide a white-noise machine, which made it an easy fix. If you're sensitive to road noise, I'd recommend requesting a site farther from the main road. The guest room did get pretty warm around 4 p.m. because the windows face the afternoon sun. Some window tinting or an exterior shade would probably help, but when we mentioned it, the staff immediately offered to bring us an additional large A/C unit. They even offered us a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience, which was such a nice gesture! Overall, the suite stayed comfortable, and they did an excellent job designing the space with multiple floor vents to keep air flowing throughout. The property gets VERY dark at night! There could possibly be a little more pathway lighting between the tents, but honestly, the low light pollution is also part of the magic--the stars were absolutely incredible. If you're directionally challenged, worried about critters at night, or just don't want to walk in the dark, renting a golf cart for $150 for your stay might be worth it. Feeding the longhorns was another highlight--feed buckets were only $5. The check-in area also had s'mores supplies, firewood, beer, snacks, and drinks, all at surprisingly reasonable prices. It's a great little convenience when you realize you forgot something or want to enjoy s'mores around your fire pit. We also loved the game room! There's a pool table, ping pong, basketball, a massive TV, and plenty of room to hang out. It was especially nice having a cool place to escape the Texas heat and relax for a while. The only thing missing is a pool on property but it sounds like that will be the next addition. Some yurts do have pools but it will definitely be a welcoming addition with the Texas heat! Overall, 10/10 and highly recommend! The few minor inconveniences were handled quickly and graciously by the staff. From watching deer outside our door and feeding the longhorns to sitting around the fire pit and seeing a sky full of stars, the whole property had such a fun, relaxing Hill Country vibe. We're so glad we found this hidden gem and would absolutely stay again!

The drinks options were plentiful and delicious. We loved all amenities . We grilled and smoked food and enjoyed the activity center. I do wish all tents had the cowboy pools or at least a community one. I wish there front desk hours stayed open a little later also. This place is perfect for a Fredericksburg visit with close wineries and shops nearby still! Tents offered perfect privacy from others but not much sound privacy. Perfect. We were walking distance from the pool. There were two pools for us to use; one heated and the other pool was unheated. There is also a hot tub and a slide at the unheated pool. The pool is next to the amenity center which has a gym and game area which includes pool, connect 4, Jenga and other games. Overall, a great place to take the family that is not too far from a city (Kerrville) with eateries.

They have a gorgeous pool area (two pools), the upper pool is heated and there's also a large hot tub...the workout center is small but has quite a few pieces of equipment and if you feel like walking outside you can walk the road (it's hilly!). They also do a star gazing every Saturday night...pretty great resort to relax.... and bonus, they have cats!!!‍
