Don't waste your time. We got seated right away but after ordering our food ... breakfast (eggs, toast pancakes) we waited over an hour .. then asked waitress about our order. The food was 4 stars (what I ordered) but the service was a one so I averaged it to 3. Also the decor was interesting to say the least. Pink chairs on rollers with a hot pink florescent light that ran around the top of the dining room. Very 80's or Miami Vice. The place was clean though. Came here on a Saturday moring and while the place was busy and all seats were taken so there was a short wait (less than 5 minutes). It was irritating as once we were seated and drinks were brought over there was no silverware. We asked for silverware and the server told us it was coming yet all the other tables around us had silverware. It took so long to get silverware that the coffee had cooled by the time it arrived. They have a large menu and have breakfast as well as lunch meals (maybe dinner I did not pay attention). My husband got a breakfast burrito that was smothered in gravy that was so big he could not finish it. Another person ordered the asparagus and swiss omlette, I got chilaquiles and the last person in our party got the western omlette. When the food came out my server brought me an egg and chorizo omelette. My food was remade quickly but it was still irritating as everyone else got to eat and I got to watch them. The chilaquiles were good. The sauce (green) was spicy and the chips were crisp and hot. The eggs were scrambled so kind of hard to mess that up. They also had different creamers so maybe that is a midwestern thing. I would not go out of my way to eat at this place again. read more

Extensive menu with lots of choices. I opted for the fried perch, mashed potatoes & salad while the wife wanted the salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and salad. The perch was nicely battered and fried to perfection. I love northern fish. The mashed potatoes were real, but not as good as I hoped they were. Salads were fresh and cold. I think this is a go-to place for locals in search of a good home cooked meal at a decent price. As for us, we always like to support local owners and avoid the chain restaurants. I had the Greek chicken breast. It was one of the driest Greek chickens I've ever had. The potatoes said Greek potatoes but they tasted more like roared they had no Greek seasoning on them at all. The saving grace was the gets cheese I smashed it up to add flavor to every thing. My dad had the senior liver and onions. Yeah not some thing I would eat. It was tough and he would know as he gets it all the time. The waitress must have been new as she seemed to have no clue they even had Greek chicken or what came with it. We absolutely love this place. The food is always good. I almost alway get the same 3 things; Bendix crapes, skillet, and the California delight. I sometimes mix it up and never disappointed. As for the service it's more like we are eating at a friends and it hard to call the servers servers because they are more like friends. No matter how busy they are they still have smiles on their faces and they make time to say hi and check in on how you and your family have been. It's a really calm laid back place, we come in crab menus ( even tho we know what we are getting g most of the time) and someone right there waiting to take our Oder. My first visit. The place was clean, my server was friendly enough however it took a long time to get waited on. I ordered the meat loaf dinner. The cream of broccoli soup was disgusting, zero flavor and very bland with 2 very tiny pieces of broccoli. The meat loaf was also tasteless and lacked seasoning. Horrible service....waitress takes our order for 2 people (I) ordered 6 eggs over easy and an order of wheat toast....i get 2 eggs on a plate, no toast....she then brings out the toast, its white bread. I then get my 4 remaining eggs and wheat toast.......not once were we asked if we wanted more coffee or another Pepsi...... when i got the bill, it was all written down correctly, guess she cant read her own writing, or understand English, or, they just grab food from kitchen...I will not reveal the ethnicity of the waitress, but, its not hard to figure out.......we will not return there ever ! read more

Great breakfast and lunch. Pretty big menu, both Mexican and American. Nice seating, building outside and inside we'll taken care of. I eat here every couple of weeks for about a year now and have always gotten a good meal at a good price. The Mexican part of the menu seems to be mostly home made and tastes wonderful. Serving staff has always been pleasant and cheerful. Only downside is it is very, very crowded for breakfast. On weekends expect a long wait. read more

Food is good and usually service is . We did eat here a lot until We ordered carryout And when we picked up half our order was wrong . When we went back to tell them the lady was very rude and acted like I didn't order what I ordered after she repeated it to me 3 times on the phone then argued with me about drinks we ordered she said we didn't and Our bill ended up being $20 for something that was supposed to only $12 ! the Lady that clearly took my order on the phone acted like she hadn't then was extremely rude About her own mess up. Probably one of the worst places I have eaten at this year. Waitress was really slow at coming to our table. Wanted to take our order before even inquiring if we wanted something to drink. Food took forever to come out of the kitchen. Fries were cold and tasted like they were fried with seafood. Bathroom was dirty. Toliet seat has exposed wood, which could leave anyone vulnerable to germs. Honestly, your better off eating food any where else. I will never return or recommend anyone eating there. read more

This is a nice family restaurant that's comparable to prime table. Decent sized, very affordable the decor is very dated but it's a cozy sit down and eat type of place. What really took me but surprise is their menu. One would think that having a lot of options for food is a good thing but in this case yes and no. I was overwhelmed by the different sections and types of food they serve. Most restaurants have a theme like "American", "Mexican" or "Greek" but there they serve everything!!!! Which is cool. But the sections in their menu were really compiled and disorganized. Because of this it took me a while to navigate through their menu and decide what to order. When my food arrived it was very good, and it had nice taste, and cooking methods. It just needed a lil extra salt. The bummer was the waitress didn't even know what was on the menu. I asked her about what came with certain dishes and she didn't know and asked another waitress and SHE also wasn't sure. Maybe they have too many items on the menu for the waiting staff to keep up with. But bendix family restaurant has good food, nice portions that's affordable, with a lottttttt of options to choose from. It will probably take more times of eating there before a person becomes more familiar with the menu, by the way it's set up. read more

My husband and I just moved near here and after seeing the reviews here on Yelp we gave it a try. We walked in and even though the decor was dated it was clean. We were seated quickly and our waitress brought water right of way. We got omelets and they were both tasty. I got the Country Omelet and my husband got the Popeye. We asked for crispy hash browns and they were perfect. Our waitress was very nice and we were in and out in about 45 mins. I'm defiantly going to go back often. read more

We used to eat here about twice a month at their old location but for some reason stopped going when they moved. Well today we went back after several years. The place was full, The staff is very friendly. The food was just as I remembered it..... Fantastic. I think this is the best place in town for breakfast (I've never had lunch or dinner but suspect it is equally as good) the prices are very reasonable and very large portions.
