Food is typical of midwestern breakfast restaurant. Can get a little busy on the weekend but typically don't have to wait. Servers are nice and most patrons are too. This is our go to place when feeling too lazy to cook breakfast. You should give it a try! read more

Been here for breakfast a couple of times when I was traveling through. Both times the food was incredible and there was lots of it. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault. The people are very friendly and always have plenty of time to take good care of you, even when they are crowded. My only issue with them is that they aren't closer to where I live so I could eat there more often. 10/10 read more

I have heard a lot of positive comments about this restaurant. So based upon that I decided to take a friend of mine and have breakfast there the other day. The restaurant was clean with a friendly atmosphere. We ordered and received our food within an acceptable amount of time. The quality of food was barely average and there was nothing that would stand out and cause me to go back again. Service was friendly and timely though. read more

Have been here several times. Service is friendly and efficient. Food quality is pretty decent and.portions are gigantic. Biscuits are above average here usually...its difficult to find a good biscuit in this area and Rise and Shines are usually pretty decent. This place is very busy w regular clientel so be prepared to wait a little bit. read more

If you're in the area, this is probably the best place to go. I love their breakfast and try to get here every time I'm in town. Their food is awesome and you get your monies worth for sure! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will keep coming back! read more

when they are not very busy...great place. If there are more than 10 cars in the lot ..BE PREPARED TO WAIT....upon arrival we were told we could sit anywhere....great two seats at the counter. Here we got to observe 3 servers taking care of customers needs....after 15 minutes we spoke amongst ourselves at how nice it would be to get a cup of coffee (as 2 servers mulled around in front of us)....20 min sitting there without even a greeting....what appeared to be the cook walked out. As he stood in front of us I said "well I guess we will leave because we can't even get a cup of coffee"....the cook looked as us....didn't say a word...and watched us walk out the door. This is the kind of place you hope to happen upon in your travels. We were staying at the Spalding Lakes Campground and noticed in their reviews that many of the guests who has stayed for any extended period of time raved about Rise n' Shine. We were sold. When we drove up and saw the parking lot nearly filled to capacity we knew that was a very good sign. Things just kept going up, up, up from there. Friendly Michigan folks holding the door open for us as we walked up. Offering up suggestions of what was good to eat when we inquired. Being greeted by a friendly hostess, visited by Angel, the owner, and a super friendly waitress. They really do a great job at making you feel welcome. Hearty, home style cooking done very well at a super fair price. I got the chicken fried steak with homemade sausage and gravy, eggs, red potatoes and toast. The perfect amount of food to get you through a full morning without giving you way too much. The hubby got the eponymously named Rise n' Shine breakfast with bacon, sausage, eggs, red potatoes and a biscuit and sausage gravy. The bacon was perfectly smoky and the single biscuit and gravy half filled the entire breakfast plate. I'm not a biscuits and gravy type of gal but this plate would make anyone reconsider that stance. I highly recommend Rise n' Shine. Angel stopped and chatted with us and made us feel like long lost friends. The people here like their jobs and make you feel special for stopping by. Nice hometown spot or just a drop in. Staff is friendly fast and the food is amazing. Generous portions aid a take away box for tomorrow. Personal favorite is the House omelette. This place is great for breakfast (I've only eaten breakfast here so can't comment on the other stuff). A full order of biscuits and gravy will feed 2 people and then some! Huge biscuits and excellent southern-style sausage gravy. I'm used to a full order being 2 biscuits split in half - this is 4 extra large whole biscuits! My dad has had eggs different ways and bacon and sausage and has said it is all excellent. I will never vary from the biscuits and gravy, they're that good! Service is always excellent also-fresh hot coffee almost as soon as you sit down and the food comes out quickly. If you're in the area and looking for an outstanding breakfast, this is the place! read more

What can I say, when I walk into this place, I feel like I'm in cheers! I am known by name, and my young kids know the owner by name! Y'all about feeing welcome!! I have never waited for a table, although many times there has been only one. Every single waitress is kind and patient with our kiddos, which we appreciate, and it never takes long for food to get to our table! Now, for the food. I like to eat. And I like comfort food. If you don't mind spending under $10 a person, getting endless coffee, and enormous portions, then this is the place for you! I have never had a bad meal here. In fact, I keep trying new things and they have all been amazing! Every day there is a special which means more food and less money! We absolutely love all the chickens and roosters, and my kids call it the chicken restaurant. Most importantly to me is the Christian music on the radio. I love that Angel does what she wants with her place. She doesn't seem to be lacking in hungry people. Ever!! read more

Stopped there today. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The food was good, your basic Midwestern breakfast place. The corned beef hash and the biscuits were exceptional. The eggs, were eggs, pretty hard to screw up. Coffee was typical. Service was fast and friendly. One thing I should mention is about the clientele. Not a criticism of the restaurant, but a comment about Niles. Parking lot full of pickup trucks with nra stickers and rebel flags. Inside we find the tv on Fox "News" and guests open caring firearms. If this makes you uncomfortable, maybe go elsewhere. read more

We are locals, refer to this place as the big cock restaurant . This place is THE BEST to grab a hearty and well cooked breakfast at a great price. Just one of those places that you've got to go try. We got off the main road on our way to Three Rivers and we were starving. We regretted not hitting Cracker Barrel or somewhere on the main road because now we feared that there was nothing around for us to go to for an early morning breakfast. We came to a screeching halt when we saw the sign that said "breakfast". We backed it into the unpaved parking lot. The area surrounding the "diner" was packed. And when we went in, there was not one single table available. There was seating at the counter though. Luckily, someone beckoned us over and we got a table. The place was filled with locals at 7 a.m. in the middle of nowhere. Must be good. And it was. They had your standard breakfast fare. Eggs, pancakes, french toast, country fried steak, "Mickey" cakes. It was a good inexpensive place to eat. An oasis in the middle of nowhere. The chicken fried steak was tasty and had great country gravy. They had "american fries" as an option instead of hash, which I should have gotten. They were like potato coins that were fresh fried. Good place. I will try to remember to hit this place the next time I'm in the area. read more

Super cute little country breakfast spot! Great food and coffee! The service is nice as well. Definitely will be popping in now and again when I have time for a sit down breakfast. I find the chickens everywhere charming and I like that it seems like everyone know one another there, so its fun to watch them interact and enjoy your breakfast. I've already stopped in a few times now and I have left very happy with my meal and a nice bit of leftovers too! read more

I ordered the Gyro with onion rings. It was promptly served, steaming hot and absolutely delicious. As you can see from the photo, I ordered the baklava. I have never seen a piece of baklava that large before. Staff were courteous, helpful, and provided great conversation. You could tell from the people entering that this is a staple in the area, so I would suggest that if you're ever in Niles, you swing by and enjoy their homemade food and incredible desserts.

The Turkey looked homecooked, thick sliced and tasty. After trying it, I noticed the Turkey was on the dry side, but the gravy helped with that. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy and good with the gravy. Overall, this is the type of place I like to eat at, and I will be back.
