I have been following the good reviews on Yelp about Gio's. Was looking forward to trying for a Sunday breakfast. Their menu is great with its variety. Party of 3 went on a Sunday, late morning after church. Highlights were their salsa in ketchup containers to splash on your food. Delicious and very well spiced. I ordered a skillet with chorizo. Chorizo was fabulous, not greasy as chorizo can be. It came with hash brown potatoes, but it was more like country fried potatoes. I ordered extra crispy hash browns. The potatoes were under the chorizo saute, so they were soggy. Next time I would request that the potatoes not be below the eggs & chorizo vegetable sautéed mix. My husband's ordered 3 sides, one being Hash Brown potatoes. It looked like soft / wetter country fried potatoes. He was disappointed. Wondered if we didn't get the right potatoes because kitchen was busy. Our toast was not made fresh. It was crunchy like it had been made long before we ordered and was setting out. Maybe they make mass amount of toast and just keep it around. His bacon was crisp like he prefers, but tasted over-done. My daughter ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries. The fries looked crispy and great. The sandwich looked light on the corned beef. Like just 1 layer. It was very thin sandwich, not stacked high with meat, cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing. I would definitely come again. My daughter saw a club sandwich being delivered to another table and said it looked great! Wait person was very nice. It took 1 hour 15 minutes to get our food. If you want to experience Mexican or US breakfast, this is the place to go. Their chilaquiles with arrachera is a 5/5. Their Mickey mouse pancake needs more attention to detail. Food: 4/5 The atmosphere is small, family oriented, friendly. It needs some update and better A/C circulation in the summer. It can get a little warm. Atmosphere: 4/5 The service is friendly, but they lack attention to customer experience. Food takes more than usual to come out. The last two times we've been there, food has taken more than 30 minutes to come out. Service 2/5 I'm giving them 3 stars because of wait time and customer attention. I eat our regularly at local restaurants as I travel about the state so when we saw high reviews on this place we decided to give it a try. It became a new experience for me as the first time in my life the treatment and food was so bad we left after an hour without eating. [I did pay for the coffee we consumed during our hour there waiting. After 40 minutes of waiting with no food and observing people eating who had come in 15 to 30 minutes after us, I asked for our food We received part of the order 10 minutes later-lukewarm with part actually below room temperature. When the rest of the order came, French toast, mine was cold and hard like it had been partially nuked then filled and covered. My son thought his was stale as it was cold and hard and the filling was like they had just scooped it out of the freezer. We requested the food would be replaced but the waitress brought it back stating that their French toast is served cold. I paid for the coffee which we had drunk but refused to pay for the inedible meal. waitress tried to make me pay $5.00 for the one egg I had partially eaten. Found this place on Yelp today! Very clean facilities. Service was perfect. Food amazing. They even have real sliced potatoes or hash browns. I had the Everything Omelette and it was huge and tasty. If you need mild salsa, bring your own American version, as this place only has spicy salsa! Lunch menu looks good! They are on door dash also! read more

Had a very unpleasant surprise at Gio's today. We ordered breakfast for 2 today. My fiance ordered an entree listed at $8.55 on the menu. Mine was $7.95. It has been a while since we've eaten there and the food was good and the service was satisfactory until we received our check. We were shocked to see that our entrees were billed at $9.25 each, in spite of being listed quite differently on the menu. When we asked our waitress about the discrepancy, she said they raised prices and that the "computer said" this was the correct charge. Then she promptly left with our dishes and never returned. Finally, after waiting more than 20 minutes, another waitress (manager?) arrived and we told her there was a problem with the bill. She insisted that the bill was correct. When we argued that they couldn't raise prices without informing the customers of the new prices she said they hadn't had a chance to get new menus. We pointed out that their current menus had pasted labels over previous prices and that they could have posted their latest prices on new labels like before. She was very arrogant and insisted that "nobody else complained" and would not adjust the bill. She didn't seem to care that it's fraudulent to advertise one price on the menu and then charge more! It may seem like a minor issue, but we're on a fixed income and this has been a restaurant we ate at several times a year since they opened. We paid the bill under protest, but won't be returning again as we felt cheated. We will be filing complaints with the BBB and the IN Attorney General's office. read more

We've dined in and also ordered to go now. Hands down the best breakfast burritos I've had in the area since leaving Southern California. The burritos are MASSIVE and still piping hot more than 20 min later when I finally got home to eat it. Glad we took the chance and decided to stop in at this restaurant. There were 4 of us and all of the food was amazing! Seeing everyone else's food come out it all looked great as well. Gio's Pancake House is a newer Restaurant where Lincolnway Cafe was. The layout is the same but they spruced it up and it's much brighter in cleaner. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety varying from Mexican American Greek just good food. Went for breakfast to check it out. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros which she was quite satisfied with and has been craving for a long time. I chose the country fried steak skillet. I ended up bringing home 2/3 of it and felt like I ate the entire meal very satisfying very filling. It was American fried potatoes country fried steak melted cheese slice white gravy which was yummy topped with two eggs served with a side of Pancakes or toast. Duh pancake me! Their pricing is very affordable. Our two breakfast to orange juice and a cup of coffee was $27. This service was very attentive and very pleasant. I look forward to trying more! I like to eat somewhere a few times before leaving a review unless it's terrible. Our first visit and take out orders from here were fine and I'd probably rate it at three stars. Today's order made me not want to come back. I ordered on the phone and asked for no tomatoes on a Greek skillet and ordered a biscuits and gravy platter. The girl taking my order asked how I wanted my eggs on my country platter and I said no I wanted the biscuits and gravy platter, she tells me it's the same thing. So I say ok just says biscuits and gravy platter on the menu I saw. So my husband goes to pick it up and his Greek skillet has tomatoes and they won't give him tzatziki sauce. He opens mine and it's a country fried steak not sausage as the menu said. He once again tells them I ordered the biscuits and gravy platter and hears someone in the back yell that it's the same thing (obviously is not) but I do get my sausage. Besides all this the food was not good at all today. I usually like their scrambled eggs but they had no flavor the gravy had no flavor and my sausage tasted old and I didn't even eat it (should've kept the country fried steak they charged me $1 extra for and didn't take off). Even my four year old said her food wasn't good today and she eats anything. I hate that we had such a bad experience today because I like to support businesses near our home. Terrible service and horrible menu presentation. We were in town visiting family who recommended we meet here for late breakfast early lunch. We were a party of nine. We all ordered breakfast foods. I ordered the chicken chilaquiles with chicken. The menu reads chilaquiles with eggs served with rice and beans additional cost for chicken or steak. When our order came there were no eggs, rice or beans. When I asked the server where the eggs were she said that the menu has changed and that they no longer serve eggs or rice and beans with the chilaquiles. When I asked why she didn't explain that when I ordered she stated well the menu is wrong. I neither work there nor have a way knowing that the menu is wrong. I was charged for chicken chilaquiles with eggs. My printed receipt said chilaquiles with eggs although I didn't get eggs and was charged for them. Not to mention that the chicken over green sauce and tortilla chips I got served were nasty. read more

I visited Gio's for the first time today! Wow! The food was amazing, excellent prices, and very attentive service! I ordered the Mexican Omelet, with Salsa Verde on the side, and Grits.
