Jacqueline is literally a master at work. I've booked with Sam, Jenn, Serena, and Jacqueline and I love ALL of them but Jacqueline truly knows exactly my Bella Hadid brow needs. I always get my brows threaded but this time I also added a brow tint for an upcoming trip. This was literally the BEST brow service I've ever gotten (I've been coming here since 2017) and I made sure to grow out my brows for 6 weeks to give Jacqueline as much creative room as possible to work her magic. I would love for the temperature of the area to be cooler though or have a fan rotating as it gets extremely warm all the time at the Brow Bar. I usually love coming to Benefit for my brows, but today was a really disappointing experience. I booked with Jessica H since my usual brow girl was unavailable, and right from the start it felt off. Before even touching my brows, she immediately pushed me to pre-book my next appointment and tried upselling me on a bunch of extra services. I get that there are sales goals, but it came across as really pushy instead of welcoming. When she actually started working on my brows, the service was rushed and rough. My appointment was at 1:45, but we didn't start until 1:48 and I was done by 1:53. She was tugging on my face, accidentally hit my nose, and waxed so aggressively that the tail of my left brow is now basically gone, leaving a bald spot. This was by far the worst brow service I've had at Benefit, and I walked out feeling frustrated and disappointed. I won't be booking with her again. read more

Due to covid, I've gone without doing my brows for a couple of months. My brows are the one feature on my face that can make or break my overall appearance. I have thicker coarser brows that are difficult to maintain. It drove me completely nuts having my brows unattended. When I relocated back to the Bay Area, I lost my previous benefit brow artist. She was fantastic, and she knew my brow shape very well. Every time I visited her, I was in and out within 10 mins. There is no better feeling of having clean nicely waxed brows. As I was passing by valley fair mall, I stumbled upon Jennifer. I informed her I wanted a blunt or straight brow and I showed her a picture of how my previous artist use to shape them. She immediately picked up on it, and she gave me my desired look. I'll be sticking with her. It's very rare for me to find the right brow artist. Since I've relocated, I've tried so many times with other vendors; unfortunately, it never worked out. Not only is it important to find the right vendor, but also the right brow artist. I was really disappointed with the service and quality at this Benefit location. My waxer dedicated no more than 3 minutes to complete my brows, and for the price, I believe it's unfair to receive that lack of quality of care/ service. I requested they not only wax but trim my brows for a cleaner look (extra charge ok) and I left with a bald spot on my right eyebrow. Back in April, I decide to try the benefit brow wax service. I choose this woman called Sam. Since the beginning she was such a nice person and ask me what I was looking to get for my brows. I told her my end goal and we have work hard to get to the shape and length I wanted for my brows. She has really done a great with them. I told my little sister and has also been loving the way she has been working with her brows to get them to how she wants them. With the photos attached I wanted to share how disappointed I am. I have been to different benefit browbars, more frequently in Los Gatos and Cupertino. I'm in a hurry and booked a next day appointment to the one nearest available to me which is this location (inside Macy's of Westfield Mall) Firstly, I was greeted poorly. Was told to sign in and he went straight to prepare the waxing station. I was already so uncomfortable and although-out Nathaniel seemed pretty angry or in a bad mood. As you can see on these photos attached...they are uneven. It's worst in-person. Since his vibe was already off I didn't say anything. I asked if we can go through my lip wax next, and with his very off tone "was that booked?" It was booked but i guess he forgot. So, he waxed my upper lip and some hair were not caught by the wax (this usually happens to me since I have thicker hair they would usually thread or pluck the excess hairs) but with my experience Nathaniel told me with an unpleasant tone "next time don't wear make up to the appointment, that's why I couldn't get some hair" I didn't wore make up but I do have tinted sunblock as usual wherever I go, even going to my past waxing appointment and they never told me not to because they would cleanse it first before waxing anyways. I was also told (not asked) to withdraw cash from the nearest atm inside the department store for the tip because they don't do card tip. I asked if he has venmo which he said they don't allow it for tipping. So I did went and withdrew cash but the machine only dispense 20$ bills. I guess if you're going to this location bring cash. I had to go find a place to get my upper lip thread because it was not clean and I extremely feel uncomfortable. I paid to feel discriminated the whole entire service because apparently with the good reviews here they choose people whom to be nice to. read more

She has worked with me on fixing my brows over the years to have them grow into the perfect shape. She makes sure to consult with you with how much she is taking off and how it will grow in. This review is for my eyebrow experience with Jennifer. I came here because of a recommendation from a friend. I let Jennifer know that the last person to touch my eyebrows messed the up and left a patch. Jennifer said that wouldn't be a problem and what shape would I like. I let her know what wanted and that I turn red every time it gets done. Jennifer was very knowledgeable about the products that she was using on me. What I like is that Jennifer took her time. She first waxed the area, and then used the tweezers to clean up the remaining area. I love the cleanliness that they practice. The only use the strips and sticks once then placed them in a pile to be thrown away. By doing this I get a peace of mind knowing that I was the only person they used it on. I was very impressed with the work Jennifer did, I am now one of her regulars. I had an appointment at 2:40 on a Saturday. There was no staff at The brow bar. I waited around for 30mins, attempted to call multiple times and only received a msg that their mailbox was fill. All the product was out, It's a good thing I'm an honest person. *turns out the actual counter is about 50ft away from the large counter/display area in Macy's. When I discovered the "other" counter, they had no record of my appointment but were able to get me on the waiting list, thankfully I only had to wait 10mins - and Sam deserves 5 stars! hence the 2 star review instead of 1 Star. read more

I have gotten brow waxed at multiple brow bars before. I have never left one feeling this disappointed. I got my brows done by Jennifer because she had so many amazing reviews on yelp. She asked if I wanted anything special done to my brows and I said no just a clean up with my natural shape. She asked if I liked my brows more thin than thick and I said yes because my natural brows aren't thick at all. I expected just a normal clean up with a trim of my long hairs. Instead I was shown uneven, paper thin brows. My left brow does not match my right one at all. I am extremely disappointed in the most well rated brow specialist at this location. I came to this location for years. My esthetician was Jennifer and she was excellent, professional and welcoming. She always did a great job with my brow tweeze and after she was done she would style and fill them in. Sometimes she would apply eye gel pads when I was tired. I always left happy. Today I went in and was told she no longer works there and instead I got a guy, Nathaniel, with an standoffish arrogant diva attitude. The guy didn't say two words to me, seemed annoyed that he even had to take me as a customer. The "work" was what you'd expect at an inexpensive salon where you could get it done for $10-15 max. No filling in the brows no nothing, the shape was off, but he sure remembered to request a tip. I could have done this myself, there was nothing special about it. I came back looking for my esty Benetia, and to my surprise I was told she wasn't working here anymore. I am particular about my brows. One hair can make a difference. I asked the manager if Benetia was waxing some where else, the manager said yes... but wouldn't tell me where. That is disappointing. Being a hairstylist, and in the industry I always believe in sending a former artist/stylist their clients to them. That is good karma. It really felt like the manager was trying to make a quick buck from not letting her clients know where Beneita is currently waxing. The MUA/front desk girl who checked me out wearing the army jacket, seemed unfriendly, and very standoffish. The reason for such a high yelp rating is, because Jessica did a pretty good job on the brows. UPDATE: Christine has moved to 1240 Salon and Spa in San Jose! GO TO CHRISTINE. Before I go in, I always call them to make sure Christine is working, or to schedule an appt. (EXT 2323 LADIES!) Called in for an appt because it's my birthday on Thursday, and the lady on the phone was extremely helpful. She was so chipper, and even said "Happy Birthday, honey!" at the end of our conversation. I only go to Christine, simply because I know that she's good at what she does. I've gone to her since I first got my brows done (ever) and she's amazing. I am too afraid of going to someone else! She has a pretty good memory, and even asked me how my boyfriend was (he was with me the last time I saw her), PLUS she remembered it was my birthday tomorrow (extra points in my book). Tips: --Call Benefit beforehand to make sure your 'browist' is working (408) 248-3333 ext. 2323 --Go to Christine! --Don't rely on the Benefit salesladies to sign you up in the appt book. I went to try out this place because last time I got my brows done in the Benefit Brow Bar in Hillsdale Mall. They did a good job with the shape, but the arch was a little too high. So, I decided to try this bar and just make sure to tell the girl to not arch my eyebrow too high. I was immediately seated with Jessica. I walked in and appreciated the no wait time. However, I was a little bit nervous because I read a few reviews that said to avoid this lady (her appearance matched the descriptions in the reviews).The lady who helped me asked Jessica if she was back from her break and Jessica said yes.There was also another girl getting her brows done with the other esthetician. Jessica told me to sit down in the chair and she didn't say anything after that. She was busy cleaning up her station and she didn't seem to be in a good mood. She seemed to be in a hurry even though she had just gotten off her break. I was wondering if she was going to ask me what I wanted to do with my eyebrows. She didn't. She just started to pluck, so I decided to tell her that I didn't want to look mad (like when your arches are too high). She didn't seem to really hear what I was saying and she was kind of rough with the waxing, plucking, and trimming. She showed me my right eyebrow once she was done. It looked okay and the arch wasn't too high. Then she started on my left. When she was done she showed me the mirror again. Bottom line: MY EYEBROWS DIDN'T MATCH. I asked her about it and I pointed to the spot where I think it needed to be fixed and she just told me that I didn't have enough hair there. I thought... "Hm that's weird. Because last time I got it done in San Mateo, the lady had no problem at least making my eyebrows match" -__- I was like whatever I'll just fix it later. The only two thing she said to me the whole time was "Arches?" to ask if I wanted my eyebrows arched, and "Are you Vietnamese?" -__- I am not Vietnamese and I was more concerned about how she was doing my eyebrows than my nationality. She spoke minimal english and she was very rough with my eyebrows. She just pushed her hand to my face to start plucking and in the end my eyebrows didn't match and there were a few stray hairs like if they had already started to grow out. It wasn't clean but I give the 3 stars for making my right eyebrow look decent. The good thing though is that I have side bangs which cover one of my eyebrows, so no one will know that they do not match haha 0=] I don't really recommend her unless you really are desperate to get your brows done quickly. read more

Benefit has so many talented aestheticians but Jen is my favorite. She's always does such as AMAZING job on my brows and before I started going to her my brows were very thin. She helped me grow them out and still helped me keep them cleaned up during the process. On top of all that the sales person in her makes it very fun to talk to her during a waxing session I always enjoy my appointment time with her because it's like I'm talking to a friend I've know for years. She's also a HUGE help with makeup for my brows I don't know a whole lot about makeup so she stirs me in the right of what to use. She'll actually use a tester product on my brows to show me how it looks so I can decide if I actually want to buy it. All in all, if you're looking for an aesthetician to go to and it's your first time at benefit I highly recommend booking an appointment with Jen. read more

This is my 6th coming here to get my eyebrows threaded and Jessica has been doing an amazing job. I have thick middle eastern brows and I've struggled to find a good salon that threads them but they all leave them thin. I was hesitant to go to Benefit but Jessica is the only person that had ever truly done just a "clean-up". She leaves my brows clean while still keeping them thick.
