This salon is super cute and aesthetically pleasing. Ana did my highlights today. She seemed to know what she was doing in terms of dying & bleaching hair and I had a pleasant experience during my appointment. We discussed that because my hair is dark and damaged, it wouldn't be ideal to go super blond. Plus that it can't be achieved in one session. I'm glad she warned me of that. The complaints I have are that I asked for partial head which is $85 but I ended up being charged $35 more because she had to tone it. I would've expected this to be included but I just said whatever & went with it.... Also, I paid for a BB deep conditioning treatment. My hair is extremely fried and lifeless. It didn't really make much difference so I wouldn't get it again. She also didn't fully blow dry my hair- it was still a little wet when I left and she just put some product but didn't really style it at all. She said it was best to leave it curly but it just dried into a poofy mess. For what I paid, I would've liked to have it parted, straightened or some kind of cute style! read more

This is my all time favorite place to get lashes done. I go to Mandy, who consistently does an amazing job on making my lashes look gorgeous!!! She takes her time and willing to work harder to give me a fuller (I like to get the kitten lashes, full but not too dramatic) look even if it can be challenging or the little lashes. I've only met only other lash technician who was as good as her in the last 4 years. And I'll add that she has such great energy! So warm! She is always raving about the other lash technicians and how amazing they are so I'd say you would be happy with anyone who works there. You just really have to be clear about what you want and look at different options. Like do your homework before you go so you know what you want. Mandy does beautiful brow work too!!! Bottom line 0 stars for the lady who performed the service 4 stars for the owner to owning up to the error hence 2 stars for the business I came in to get natural looking eye lash extension. After 2 hours of lying on my back, I was excited to see the beautiful work! Wrong!! There was nothing natural looking about the work. I looked like that meme of a chihuahua wearing eye lashes!! Yikes when I told her this is not what I asked for she said don't worry after you shower they will calm down in their intensity. Wrong again! Found out it was a blatant lie. Called the owner, she apologized and offered to fix it at a later date as they were busy for the rest of the day. Nope! Cannot be caught dead looking like that for another minute and asked her to take it off and which she did and refunded the money. She said please come back and we will do it better next time. Update: First of all, I stand by my review. I have never seen hair cut in this manner, nor do I see that being taught at Redkin or Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools. Looking at her hair standing there after the cut, yes it looked fine. But when we got home and combed it through is when we noticed how horribly uneven it was. At that point there was nothing your place could do as I was certainly not going to go back to try to have it fixed, because 1) why would I go back to the place that butchered it and 2) as I said, it's so uneven, to fix it, she'd have to have another 2-3 inches cut off. Lesson learned, I will comb her hair and check it thoroughly before paying. Glad it was a Groupon and didn't pay too much for the cut. Lastly, it doesn't bode well for a business to threaten people. ............... Terrible cut by Ivy. My daughter's hair is long and wanted to donate it. She put it in a ponytail, cut it off, great. Then combed her hair, left comb at end of the hair, used an electric razor and proceeded to cut hair. New to me! Maybe because just cut off pony. Nope continued to cut her hair this way. She did trim with scissors AFTER using electric razor for majority of time, but the cut is totally uneven. Most unprofessional haircut I've ever seen. Her hair is horribly uneven. This review is to shout out owner Tina and Mai for the outstanding customer service I received today in getting my eyelash extensions. I originally had a Groupon for Beatrice Salon (sister salon to Hair and Beauty Passion Spa), but when booking on Groupon, they never transferred the appointment over to the salon. So upon arriving to Beatrice Salon, there was nothing on the books for me there. So the woman at Beatrice had me call Tina and she sent me over to Hair Passion a few miles away. When I showed up, Mai took me right away and was so friendly. She was gentle on my face and very quick and efficient. They held up much better and the lashes even feel softer. The first time I got my lashes done here, they actually felt like plastic but these new ones feel nice and soft. However I am now updating my review a week and a day after getting my eyelashes done. These lashes do not hold up for longer than a week. There is also a lot of inconsistency in quality. Since my mom bought their frequent buyer's card, buy 10 get 2 haircuts free, I decided it was about time to try this salon seeing as how I pass by it every day. I made a reservation just in case but it turns out I didn't have to since it was empty during the afternoon on a weekday. My hair was cut by Bee. I specifically said only 3 inches in the back + just A TINY trim on my bangs but in the end, he managed to chop off close to 6 inches in the back plus most of my bangs. Sigh, I knew I should just stick to getting my hair cut in Taiwan where it always turns out just the way I want it to. Now my hair is too short and thus super puffy. I have to straighten it every day and I hate doing this because it damages my hair and I'm just kind of lazy to do it every time I go out. Also, I look like a little boy when I tie up my short hair........sigh. I added a star just because with the frequent buyer's card it was super cheap and also because Bee was fairly nice. He comes from south bay and the traffic is horrendous. He's not usually late though. 1. A woman's hair is like her baby. We don't trust just anyone with it. Heaven forbid you mess up on our hair! We won't come back and women roll in packs, so none of our friends are going either! 2. What do men know about hair? Can I trust some older Vietnamese man to cut my long hair?! ---Well Tony knows a LOT and yes, yes you can trust him. He has years of experience (decades yo). He loves coloring and cutting women's hair. He understood what I wanted and gave feedback on what and why he wanted to do things to cut my hair. He asked me questions and even suggested what kind of ideas he had if I wanted to do any future coloring. He loves what he does so it makes me look forward to my next visit. I cannot believe how perfect my eyelashes are! I purchased a Groupon and made an appointment over text, which was super easy. Then when I went in for my appointment, Sue (Bang) mentioned that the Groupon is for a "natural" look and so I upgraded for $20 to do something more dramatic. She spent the next hour and a half meticulously applying lashes in varying sizes and I listened to soothing music and almost fell asleep! Lisa reassured me and so far it has been easy. I refilled after 3 weeks. Surprisingly they stayed on really well! My friends told me it would probably take about 2 hours the first time and 1.5 hours for the fills. Lisa did mine way faster and I have a lot of lashes. I got my eyebrows tattooed by Tina. It was a really good experience. I've been filling my eyebrows in for almost ten years now so I'm very particular with my eyebrow shape. I was scared with how it would turn out, but at the same time I was very tired with having to fill my eyebrows in all the time. Well I'm here to say don't fear! Tina is very good at what she does. Please ladies, take advantage of the consultation time. Don't rush it! Take your time with talking to Tina about what shape you want, and take time to hear her suggestions on what shape would look best on you. In my consultation I drew in the shape I wanted and she tattooed them on in a more 'natural' way, we compromised and the result was great. She's also really fast with replying and scheduling appointments. Now the pain is pretty minimal. They do put numbing cream on your brows before tattooing so it isn't bad at all. But you can still feeling a little bit of scratching when she is micro-blading you. But Tina is pretty fast when she is micro-blading, my brows took only about 10-15 minutes to fully tattoo. She's not fast because she's rushing, but she's fast simply because she's been doing this for 20 years!! Love my brows, I'll be coming back for all my touch-ups. read more

Just brought my girlfriend here for upper and lower permanent eye liner because she saw how great mine came out. Now ladies, this is not a pain free procedure what so ever! For a natural look for both eyes, it takes a total of 3 mins (depending on how dramatic of a look you want it could take longer)...Tina does a great job counting 5 seconds for each segment so you can do your very best to keep still. And if you can't handle the pain, let her know and she'll apply more numbing cream on for you. The outside areas are tolerable but the closer she gets to the inside, that's when you feel it! Because it is painful, DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. If you're going in for a natural look, have her draw something a little more dramatic to see if you may want that...it's just eyeliner so you can always choose to go backwards. My point is, save yourself the pain and get want you want in one shot. The last thing you want happen is wish you went with something a little thicker. Tina has a great eye for these things so when in doubt, ask her! My friend came in only wanting the lower liner, she left with upper and lower after seeing what it would look like. She had very little tolerance for pain, cried throughout the procedure (maybe even scared the other clients waiting outside) but Tina walked her through it and made her as comfortable as possible. Her work is perfection and I would recommend her to any of my family and friends for both microblading and permanent eyeliner. And ladies, ice the crap out of your eyes, the pain will get better and you can minimize the swelling/bruising by doing so. I was almost back to normal the next day because I iced them all day and night. read more

****SAVE YOUR EYES DON'T GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS FROM HERE********* This review if for primarily eyelash extension service. I was told prior that Anthony would be doing my eyelash when I booked the appointment. First of all he was 15 minutes late for the appointment. I don't think he was prepped for me since he greeted me at the door, took me in the room and asked me to lie down. He did not clean his hands. He spoke little english and I already knew this might be a bad thing but he showed me photos of eyelashes he previously did so I was put at ease a little bit. He taped my eyes and he had to reapply it several times. then he started applying the lashes. The glue smelled like super glue. I could hear him rummaging through draws as he was looking for more supplies I guess. And I thought, I hope he will wash or gel alcohol his hands. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes for him to finish my lashes. I was hot and there was no air circulating in the room. The removed the taped. My eyes were red. Then left lashes felt stuck. He told me " no water for 4 hours tonight okay" He took my photo, the lashes were nice but my left side looked shorter and felt lower than the right. I still tipped him 5 bucks. Next day I showered and my right eye burned like hell as if someone was stabbing me in the eye. It was red a heck and painful. Next morning I immediately went to my doctor and she examied my eye, applied a dye and flashed the uv light on. OMG , she said there was a tear, a straight line tear near my cornea, she also said if it was any higher, I wouldn't be able to open and probably lost my eyesight. But she did compliment that my lashes looked great despite my eye injury. I phoned hair and passion but was referred to text Tina, she must be the head hancho. I explained as above my experience. She said that Anthony was the best eyelash technician and she would only let him do her lashes. She then began to say that she hoped I could use their service again and she'll take care of me. She never accepted that my eye was injured and never even offered to pay for my doctor's visit and medications. She could have offered to give me a partial refund or something. I guess 50 bucks was good a deal that came with a price, an injured eye! I want to add this was not my first time having eyelash extensions. Ladies beware!!! read more

Ok, we are not ALWAYS last-minute people, but somehow it happened again with haircuts... So the BF and I wanted another haircut and remembered our great experience with Hair Passion. It's a bit out of the way from Milpitas, so we researched nearby restaurants on Yelp. The plan was to grab lunch and then head to Hair Passion. The restaurant had a long line when we got there. We decided to call HP to see if we can make an appointment. It was a Sunday. It was 1:20pm. We totally did NOT check HP's hours before leaving. By the time we called, they've been closed for 20 minutes! Oops. But they actually picked up... and told us that they were already closed, so unless we get there FAST, we won't be able to get haircuts. Since haircuts was the reason for the trip to begin with, we ditched the long line at the restaurant and rushed over to HP, where we were warmly taken care of. What made me feel kind of bad was that multiple parties continued to walk in while we were getting our haircuts. So even at 2pm, an hour after they are supposed to be closed, they were still taking new customers without turning them away. I think that's dedication. Or passion. ;) I later found out that they did not have lunch yet, and they had plans for the afternoon. Sorry! And thanks for the great customer service and haircuts! read more

This review if for primarily eyelash extension service from Sue (real name is Bang). When arriving for my appointment, Sue introduced herself to me and pointed to where I needed to lay down. She did not explain anything to me nor did she ask how I wanted my lashes to be done. Additionally, she did not clean her hands prior to working on my lashes. The first thing she does is apply tape to my bottom lashes, which she removed and re-applied several times. Every time she removed the tape, it was painful and she continued to pull it off quickly despite my telling her that it was bothering me. Once she started applying the lashes to my eyes, my eyes started immediately burning. I informed her that my eyes were burning and she said that it was normal. My eyes were burning so bad that I started to tear while she was applying the lashes- but she continued and said that it was normal. She took 2 hours to finish my lashes- mind you, I went in for a lash refill, not for a full set- but she still took 2 hours. After my lash appointment, she pulled off the tape from my eye and told me to wait a few minutes before opening my eyes. After a few minutes, she asked my to open my eyes and I was not able to because some of the lashes were stuck to each other. Sue adds so much glue that the lashes were stuck to each other- so she asked me to lay back down and tried to fix it. She wasn't able to get them unstuck, so she needed to remove some of the lashes that she had just applied and it HURT ! It felt like she just took the tweezers and pulled off not only the lash extension, but also my real eyelash! After pulling off about 4 lashes, she asked me to try opening my eyes again- and I was finally able to open my eyes, however, my eyes were super red and swollen. I asked if the glue she uses contained formaldehyde, and she quickly became defensive. She responded 'if it did, does that mean you will not do this anymore?' - I told her that I was just asking because I had read the effects of formaldehyde and I was interested in knowing if there were alternative options that did not contain formaldehyde. She walked away without answering my question. I will definitely not be going back to this place ever again! read more

Tina has been doing my eyebrows for YEARS, so after she told me she had opened a hair salon, I thought why not try it out? I was not disappointed. So much so that I have been there three weeks in a row. Experience 1: Came in for an eyebrow wax, facial, shampoo and conditioning, and blow dry. Of course the eyebrows were on point - Tina is always on point. The facial was a bit different as it was performed at the hair washing station, but once they put the mask on and started massaging and scrubbing my head I was sold! I could have fallen asleep right then and there. Heather performed the blow out on my hair and she was so fun to chat with. Loved the experience so much, I made an appointment with Heather the next weekend. Experience 2: Heather did not disappoint. She succeeded in putting me to sleep during the massage and scalp scrub (although I have to admit I had been up since 6:30am). Experience 3: I was a little hesitant to make an appointment with Tony for my thermal as I had been seeing my previous stylist for 7 years. However, traveling to Milpitas was becoming a bit tiresome so I was willing to give it a shot after seeing several before and after shots. Tony comes off a bit rough around the edges, blunt, straightforward, etc. But with that comes honesty. He gave me his honest opinion on the condition of my hair and offered various options on how we wanted to approach thermaling my hair to provide the best results. He even threw in a joke here or there. At the end of the day - my hair looked MUCH better than when my previous stylist was doing it. I will be going to Tony from now on. Overall - great experience.
