I have been a coming to Anthisi for many years. I continue to come here, even though I moved to Philadelphia 4 years ago. There is no place for electrolysis that I have found that has warranted even a second try. The location is clean, bright, beautifully decorated. The service is impeccable. When I was first referred to this provider, it took weeks of me calling to finally get someone to call me back about an electrolysis appt. Since then the services have been good, but the owner is habitually on her phone and texting during my appts and thus my 15 minute appts take much longer and it doesn't feel safe to me. I had to point this out to her. She recently cancelled due to the snow and then didn't reach back out to reschedule. I had to call her. Today I went for my reschedule and she wasn't even there. She called in and was going to be twenty minutes late but I had another appt after and couldn't wait. How would she feel if I showed up 20 minutes late when she had other clients waiting? I has a Spafinder gift card and read positive reviews on Yelp. I tried an Express facial, the shortest and cheapest, at about $85. Good news is facial was was fine. Katie knew what she was doing. Bad news was the constant cross-selling and up selling. I was offered electrolysis, microdermabrasion and glycol peel. I politely turn this down stating that I really just wanted a simple facial and some extractions. She extracted the area around my nose and then stopped. I said what about my chin? So she did my chin. I shouldn't have had to ask. So one star off for incessant cross selling and another for forgetting I had a chin. The Good - The facial. the annoying, the selling and incomplete extraction. These two factors lowered the score to a 3. read more

I had a SpaFinder gift card and came with a friend. When I called to make the reservation, I asked for one deep tissue massage and one signature massage. For the signature massage, I received a Swedish massage. As for my friend's deep tissue massage, she too received a Swedish massage when she requested for a deep tissue massage. In addition, she was told by her massage therapist that she doesn't personally like deep tissue massages or giving them, until i said, was getting a deep tissue, and then she changed her words. Prior to the massage during our consultation, I discussed my targeted areas. The consultation is pretty customary, but during check out, the massage therapist stated that I had a deep tissue massage and so they upcharged me for a deep tissue. I've had many massages in my life, and my treatment was definitely just a light Swedish massage. Since the owner knew that I was upset on paying for a service that I did not receive, she offer each of us a free candle to make up for it. Not to mention that we must tip 20%, which I would have anyways, but being told what I should tip was a turn off. All in all, we got two light 90 minute Swedish massages, two candles, bad service for a rip off price of $320. I will never come back to this place again. read more

Today was my 34th hour spent at Anthisi for electrolysis so you know I really love this place.  I found Tsambika(owner of Anthisi) on Yelp and at the time she did not have any reviews.  This feedback is overdue.   Let me start off by putting out there that I am a brown-skin girl of Indian descent.  I've always been hairier than the average girl but things really took a turn for the worst around age 32 when I noticed the hair on my face getting darker and longer(gasp!).  I started to get light laser(from a different business) regularly on upper lip for a year but did not notice a difference. Prior to finding Tsambika I called  around various electrologist in the North Jersey area.  Through my search for an electrologist, I encountered one that called in a numbing cream prescription to a pharmacy after speaking with me for 5 minutes and wanted to see me the same day to start treatment without seeing my skin.  Other places didn't seem seem to have a lot of experience with my skin type. When I first spoke to Tsambika,   I could tell she was different in that I did not feel pressured or overwhelmed.  I was invited for a in-person consultation where she took her time to explain all the different methods and which she thought was best for my skin type, products to use for minimizing the pain, etc.   She introduced me to everyone at the office and they all had such friendly faces like Tedd(one of her massage therapists).  I was immediately attracted to her office and noticed it had a space for me to work during the days which meant a lot because  because I telecommute for a living and sometimes need to fit in lunch appointments.   I've utilized Anthisi's balcony to sit down and get some work done during the days and handle all my meetings between appointments.   Needless to say, I am a loyal client at Anthisi.   Since my 1st appointment in May 2016 with Tsambika, I am always happy to look at my skin.  My sideburns, upper lip, and under chin have really come a long way.  It's so much clearer now.  I feel much more confident to have people look at my face when they are talking to me.  Tsambika give me  that confidence.   I can't wait to try some of the other services offered like the facials. To wrap this up, not only is Tsambika my beloved electrologist but she functions like my unofficial therapist.  She has great listening ears. I can discuss just about anything with her like a friend. Our chats are always insightful and she makes my back-to-back crazy appointments fly by in no time.   She is extremely accommodating for those times you want to fit in lots appointments,  running late or forget the start of your appointment.   For example,  today I was about 20 mins late today and she still kept our appointment.   I really appreciate that she always works with my schedule.  As a Mom of 3 busy kids, I often rush to her office and now my family knows Anthisi and Tsambika as household names.  Everyone reminds me of my appointments and push me out to door to get there on time.    I always look forward to my next appointment and walking through the door of Anthisi.  That incredible scent in the air (which I can smell with my eyes closed any) and soft music immediately resets my mood.  Once you give Anthisi a try, you too will be hooked! read more

Tsambika is the best! I had hair growing on my chin and jawline...went to two other electrologists before her and they didn't do a thing. She got the job done sooner than even she anticipated. Today I am hair-free in that area and no longer think about being the bearded lady at a circus sideshow! I started out living near her practice, but moved. Even so, I drove a great distance to get to her. It was so worth it...would travel the world over for her services. She does facials too, and I hope she'll add waxing. I came to Anthisi for skincare. Previously my skin has had issues with cystic acne and deep congestion. Upon ascending the steps to Anthisi, you feel a sense of calm given the serene spa environment, which consists of purple-grey walls, instrumental music and candlelight. My sister and I have been going to Tsambika (the owner) on and off for over a decade and she truly changed our lives. She is an honest and direct person who genuinely cares about her clients and makes sure they're happy with the results. The prices are reasonable and you will undoubtedly see a positive difference after a few sessions of electrolysis. Given that I no longer live in NJ, I visit Tsambika sporadically but she always makes the most of our time together. I recently also had a facial at Anthisi and it was one of the best I've ever had. This spa is AMAZING!!! 2 girlfriends and I went here for massages. We got there at 4 and they took my friends in right away. While they were getting a 60 minute Swedish, I had a mini facial, and made my skin GLOW! the woman was so careful and gentle. She let me know each and every product she put in my face AND explained the effects they should have (I.e. Tingling sensation, soothing, cooling). It made me feel so comfortable. After my facial, I had to wait a little before my massage because my friends were had both massage therapists. The owner was a doll! She brought me a Bellini and fancy painted truffle chocolates while I waited. They were both delicious! Then, I had a 4 handed massage. OH MY GOD! If you have never had this service, you need to get one here! Just the right pressure. 2 people massaging you at the same time. While I received my massage, I told my friends to grab a table at a nearby restaurant. They owner gave them bellinis, chocolates AND a bottle of wine. They were having so much fun that they didn't leave the lobby! I know this almost sounds like a fake experience and it felt unreal. For some reason my previous review had no stars on it...maybe because yelp didn't have stars yet? SO here it is again...with the 5 stars! BELIEVE that treatments can lead to permanent hair removal! I had been literally tortured previously with no long-term results. Then Tsambika...and well...let's just say she has a halo over her head. She knows what she's doing and she really does want you to see results versus others that either don't know what they are doing or they just want you back. If you are reading this you all know how annoying hair anywhere other than your head can be and are looking for a solution. Don't worry you have come to the right location! I have had my own struggle with hair issues. I used to spend major part of my time with plucking, waxing, tweezing, and threading facial hair. I even tried 8 full sessions of laser treatments which had no effect on my hair. It totally affected my self confidence and I really felt miserable.
