Went on yelp to find a new Indian Food place near a tunnel stop. Found the reviews and checked it out. The table ordered: Chutney (ok at best) Mixed Grill (Good choice) Chef's Special Lamb (ok at best) Overall, the food quality was decent especially considering the price. It is by no means great food but if you are looking for an affordable option near a local station, it's an ok option. The service was polite and helpful but pushy when it came to ordering certain dishes. We got pressured into the Special Lamb which didn't end up being that great. The food lacked the the spice and flavor which I am used to but that could be a plus for some customers. read more

For the first time Yelp really let me down. Six of us went to dinner on Sunday evening. We had to sit in a poorly furnished and dimly lit basement. Not really a very comfortable location. The food was promptly served and okay, but I've had better Indian meals in London. Even the food that was said to be spicy actually was rather bland. After dinner we wanted espresso or latte macchiato but we could only order coffee or tea. The coffee which was served was by far the worst cup of coffee I've ever encountered in my life. At 40 pound at head the meal was overpriced, even for London standards. I certainly will never come here again. read more

While in London I was told you need to try Indian food. Well I did and I would say this place was average. Service was good and prompt and the food was good. Value for the pound was also good. So if you are looking for a place that is small comfortable and reasonable Bengal may be the spot for you. read more

What a hidden gem ! We let the waiter pick our food and he did a great job. Starting with the papadum, everything was filled with flavor. The sizzling chicken had a bit of a kick. Astonishingly good. Great service. Feels cramped upstairs, but there is a full dining room downstairs as well. The lemon rice.... OMG the lemon rice! And the lamb vindaloo. The best Indian in the area. The curries are fabulous, the service is excellent and no matter how much you eat the bill will be super cheap. Best of all The Bengal Kitchen has a knack of always being full, however having a table big enough for you and your friends. read more

We went here for dinner. We had the Lamb Korma and the Buttered Chicken. Both were very good. The service was superb. The place is in an unsuspecting area near the Royal oak train station. It was a small charming restaurant but well patronized as the place eventually got full on that evening. Highly recommended. read more

This is my 1st time in London and was craving authentic Indian food. The concierge at my hotel highly recommended this place. Although I had a nice 2 mile walk through libfins beautiful neighborhoods to this cafe. What a lovely dining experience we had with Bengal! I had read the Yelp reviews, and since we're staying in Paddington, I thought we should try it. So glad we did! I had made reservations on-line (only 45 minutes beforehand), and called to let them know that we were running a few minutes late. They hadn't received the reservation on-line, but even though the place was packed upstairs, they opened the entire downstairs up for us to honor the reservation. We had a delicious meal. My son gobbled down his Tandori Chicken. My husband loved his Lamb Vindiloo (sp?). And I really liked the chicken with the rich Almond sauce (can't remember what it was called) - which was very thick and slightly sweet, but quite tasty. We all loved the cheese naan (and all agreed it was much better than the plain). The service was excellent. A really nice find! read more

Nice food @ an even nicer price. That sums up "The Bengal" forya. Nice, cosy n quiet place that serves good curries, Bangladeshi style. The only hitch however is that the food is not authentic Indian and is more of a curry joint. I somehow find Masala Zone (especially the one at Earl's Court) and Mela closer to authentic Indian food. Having said that, cannot take the credit from Bengal for serving tasty food at honest to earth prices. They have a "lunch box" deal that serves rice and curry for 5 quid and is a steal. read more

the bengal is one the finest food mouth watering dish i have ever had an would go back time an time again.. its based in a quite an family zone area which is good for people with children or anyone else ..their also a big space down stairs for anyone that wants to hold a party venue or birthdays are more then welcome but the main thing is there outstanding indian food which will keep you coming back for more , the bengal has had a feiw known faces coming in ie the likes of MP caron bock an many more this should tell you that the bengal indian restaurant is a trusted palce for you to eat an enjoy your self... read more
