Beneath and behind each Indian eatery are nearly always the sweetest, most kind hearted gregarious people running things. No different here with Jaime the ebullient Maître d'Bengal. I can't imagine returning here but it wasn't bad per se. The things that put me off like sticky flours in the rather rough rest room, the use of paper and plastic cups instead of real cups and providing bottled water all leant an ad hoc air to the evening's affair. The chicken samosas were small and fine; the butter chicken was perfectly passable on the Chicken Spectrum but nothing to cluck about. Strange how when he ran my credit card and I asked for something to sign and he told not to worry about it. I asked again because i wanted to leave a tip but no dice. Checked my credit card later and legitimately charge. But the best thing was typically a comparable meal albeit with somewhat larger portions at any other eatery would set me back over $50.00 but here? $33. None of my criticisms are fatal flaws and it was a pleasant enough experience but I doubt I'll be back. read more

Food - Below average. you could make slightly better food using packet sauces, and that is what bothers me. For example, the chicken was just tough and another chicken dish was full of bones. The daal was watery and the pakaoras were cold. This is not acceptable. Service - non-existent. Other than bringing out bottled water that they charged us for, never saw the server again. We just kept piling up the plates on the table and that was that. Cleanliness - not good. The tables and the floor were grimy and the bathroom was horrendous, which says a lot since we were there at lunch. How bad could've it have gotten in the 30 to 45 minutes that they had been open? That tells you they do not clean. But what got to me was their dishonesty in pricing. The guy at the register charged me more and when I questioned him, he said that the prices had changed. I paid whatever he asked because I knew I was never going to go back and a few dollars did not matter, but when you have someone running a business in such an unethical manner, that is not a place you want to recommend or ever visit again. read more

The food was good, and it was great to know they have a buffet option. I would definitely recommend it as I saw people going in and out for it, however I can't say much on how the quality of the food is because they only had chicken as the meat option and I don't eat chicken. They do however have vegan/vegetarian option for the buffet. The Mango Lassi was water and separating before they even haded it to me, I give it a 2.5 out of 5. The Lamb Tikka Masala However was delicious indeed, 4/5 stars. The service was 5/5, I was welcomed as soon as I entered and the server provided me with all the attention in the worlds. Food was good, just be mindful of their menu and pricing. Wasn't busy when we went but service was slow. Lunch Buffett is $30 with only 5-6 entrees offered, most with chicken so we decided to order Al La carte as an individual dish was $14.99. However, prices on menu are not correct and entrees are $1-$2 more than what's stated on the menu. When we asked about this when we got the check they shrugged it off and stated it wasn't a big deal and it's only a couple dollars more. True, but should be mentioned upon sitting. If you ask for water it's bottled water and you're charged for it, but again not asked if you want bottle or tap. I also changed my order and said multiple times to make sure I didn't get the first thing I ordered and they guy even repeated no chicken wrap. When we got our food I was given the chicken wrap along with the butter chicken I ordered. When brought to the attention of the server he proceed to tell us to take it to go but would charge us for it. Got our receipt and we just got the itemized one not one to sign off with or leave a tip on. However, not sure if this is a cultural thing? Garlic naan was amazing! I don't understand the high ratings for this place. Maybe, I ordered on an off day but the Lamb Biryani and Chicken Korahi I tried were just average. Chicken dish was average but the Lamb was so overcooked and very chewy that I ended up throwing it away without eating. Even the rice in the Biryani wasn't that flavorful but it was decent. Most of the high ratings seem to be for their Buffet, so not sure if they put more of an effort there. read more

Spectacular! Been reading so many reviews on social media so I decided to pick up takeout tonight. I was greeted by Murad who was super friendly. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken along with Naan. While waiting I chatted with the owner, Jami along with Murad. They gave me some delicious Bangladeshi Chai Tea to try, which was delicious!! There was a good crowd of people dining in and lots of takeout/delivery orders being picked up/placed. They also have a daytime buffet available. I believe the work with Uber Eats, DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. I couldn't wait to get it home and try the food. It did not disappoint!! Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Great to have a local Indian restaurant nearby. There is also plenty of parking available. Look forward to returning. read more

Great food and friendly service! We've come back a few times. Homemade samosas, tandoori and curries were excellent.

I thought it was way too salty to really enjoy it, unfortunately. Hopefully they can readjust the amount of sodium they put in their dishes.

What a great find today a local Indian restaurant near by in the same shopping center as The Woodland Park Post office. We ordered a Tandoori chicken wrap with tomatoes, bell peppers and chef's special sauce wrapped in a fresh baked Nann ($7.99) & a Lamb wrap with the same ingredients for ($8.99). They were so large that we shared only the chicken for now. The dish exploded with flavor and tasted as good as anything I have ever eaten. We chose medium spicy, more than enough. They have an extensive menu and daily lunch buffet. As i said to Jami, who took my order this was a test. BTW. THEY PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS. Can't wait to explore the extensive menu. read more

We stumbled upon this place randomly and came in for their lunch buffet. Everything was so good! Loved the chicken tiki masala here! Delicious for sure. DINERS BEWARE. Interested in trying Indian/Bengali food? TRY ANOTHER PLACE! My family decided to give the buffet a shot. One of my children decided to get something off the menu since he did not want to try the buffet. We were offered the chicken wings. The buffet was ok, price seemed reasonable (wait for it, I'm getting there) though some of the items could have been replenished. Upon receiving the total amount of $50 for 1 adult and 2 children (mind you, the buffet is advertised at $13/person), the manager told me that he was going to charge me half price for the child that did not eat from the buffet and charged me for the chicken wings. And on top of that told me to "keep coming back, because we are a new business". Well with that business approach of making a customer feel like you did them a favor for charging them full price for a chicken wing dinner while you buried that half price buffet on a sneak, no thank you--we will not be coming back. True review: 4.5 stars. Pros: The food was DELICIOUS. We tried about 7 or 8 menu items and the only thing we weren't a fan of was the pickled mango, but we already knew that was going to be more of an experimental dish for us. The host was very nice once we were seated. We were skeptical at first but he ended up being very friendly and funny. The prices are great too. It's not too expensive. For us the final bill ended up being more pricey than we thought but we also ended up getting lots of different things so we weren't too surprised. The environment is very relaxed, so it's super family friendly. Cons: the wait time was a bit long for the food because it all comes out at once, hence the buffet style. Its not a typical buffet where you make your own plate based on what's already set out. You order your food, appetizers come first, then all the food comes out together. Dessert is served towards the end of the meal. It took the waiter a little long to check in on us throughout the day and we were given a delicious trio of sauces for our chicken that was taken away sooner than we hoped for. But he was still very nice and courteous. I would 100% come again and I'm looking forward to trying some new things. Would definitely recommend, especially to anyone willing to try out a few new things. BTW: they had this cherry naan that was AMAZING. if I could leave 0 stars I would. we just went for the lunch buffet my other half was on his lunch break which was an hour and fifteen minutes. I called the restaurant prior to going to make sure they were open and had the buffet. when we arrived there was no food out. I explained we were on limited time and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. 25 minutes later there was no food I was told another few minutes at this point we were out of time and had to leave. I am upset because I was lied to. if they had told us the time frame when we arrived we could have done something else. my other half had just worked 12 hours and was going back for another 6 hours without eating due to this restaurant working lying. read more

The people behind the counter were very nice and welcoming.I ended up ordering the shrimp biryani and butter chicken and a Mango Lassi!! The Mango Lassi was delicious it's like a mango yogurt drink I really liked it!! The shrimp Briyani was pretty good spicy like I asked but it needed something lacked flavor and I had to add some salt to wake it up a little bit the shrimp were cooked perfectly!! My brother, niece and I went to lunch on Saturday and wanted Indian food, so for search reviews in the area and found Bangle Spice. I'm NOT a buffet person at ALL, but the owner told us it was very good and they were having a special event that day and asked me to try it. He was very kind and accommodating, as well as the rest of the staff, so I did. Everything we tried we loved! I was incredibly impressed because, again, I am NOT a person who eats at buffets!!!!!! The only thing was, the food did not stay hot on it unless they refreshed the buffet with a new pan. Also we were sitting near the door because the other room was being used by their party, so every time someone came in it was freezing! The best Indian food takeout I have had in NJ. The quality, the complexity of the spices in the various dishes we got was executed beautifully and uniquely to each dish. From the chili chicken to the paneer tikka masala to the beef Bhuna, each were amazing. This is not something desi restaurants usually are able to pull off this well, especially at this price point.
