I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is incredibly kind and the food is fresh. On weekends they have an all you can eat, which is absolutely awesome. What I like about it is that unlike other Indian and all you can eat this one is sort of like an à la carte where you order from the menu. I feel like that's a better set up because the food is fresher and a ton of food doesn't get wasted at the end of the day. You always get something fresh at the table. We absolutely loved every meal. Also, we brought our toddler and I was a bit nervous that the food might be too spicy for him. But I told the staff to keep the spices very low and they did. We all were able to eat very comfortably. My husband and I went here for dinner on a Friday evening around 5:30 and we were the first ones to arrive. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive, and the food was wonderful. We originally were going to order the samosas as one of our appetizers but were talked into the Tandoori Chicken Momos instead by our server which were very tasty! Glad she recommended them. We also had the Lasuni Gobi: deep fried cauliflower tossed in a soy burnt garlic sauce which was also very good; and the rosemary garlic naan. For entrees, I had the butter chicken which was rich, creamy, and delicious; and my husband had the goat bhuna which he enjoyed very much. The garlic, cardamom and ginger flavors were dominating, but overall the flavors were a bit off, as expected. It's possible too much salt caused this. The food was disappointing: Tandoori chicken was not fully cooked and some parts looked raw. We ordered the Lentil soup which was watery, overpowered with garlic, and lack any lentils. The tandoori naan was overcooked, the tandoori fish was basically taste like fish in a puree tomato sauce. The Biryani was made with chicken breast, which is not authentic at all because you are missing out on the true flavor and experience of eating a biryani dish. The entire menu is overpriced. For three people, $145 would seem fair if the was truly authentic Indian food. I ordered curry chicken, which was described as chicken on bone, my dish came with steam chicken breast in a curry sauce. When I brought it to the waitress attention, she said it how they make it for white Americans. Well they shouldn't advertise themselves as Authentic Fine Indian Cuisine. The service is ok. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! My wife almost broke a tooth on a small METAL BALL that she found in her saag paneer that we got from their takeout. I called the restaurant immediately to let them know, and the person I spoke with acted as if this was not an unusual occurrence. He said these things "sometimes happen" (wtf?). He apologized and offered to refund the entire meal no questions asked. The owner whose name is Vbabu subsequently texted me and asked for a photo (see attached). So, several weeks passed and no refund. When I texted to ask about it, the owner said he would call me. A month later, nothing. This is completely unacceptable! I spent $140 on a meal that I could not allow my wife and child to eat, and the owner of the restaurant could not care less! There are several better Indian restaurants in Ridgewood so do not risk this happening to you! No wonder every time I go there, it is empty. Well I will not be going back, that's for sure! Recently got the app, "Doordash", and was hunkering for some indian food for quite some time. My keywords for the search: pakoras and naan. No sooner did I find the page for this restaurant, "Tabla Fine Indian Cuisine". Looking through there menu, my appetite grew. I not only orders a side of vegetable pakoras and garlic naan, I also ordered a DELICIOUS lamb rogan josh, and to wash it all down, a classic mango lassi. I ordered around 6:45, and my food came at about 7:20, not too bad for delivery. The food did get a bit cold on arrival, but I did reheat my food. Let's start: I was craving onion pakoras, but there were simply "pakoras" on the app, so I assume its a veggie-medley pakora. It is strong on squash/pumpkin if you like that flavor...I'd give that a 4/5. Delicious, but that squash is filling! The LAMB ROGAN JOSH was something I was looking forward to, because I've seen many people order it and say it's amazing. I loved it! Only downside? I wanted more meat! There was a lot of sauce to clean-up with the garlic naan, but I was done with meat (+rice) REAL QUICK. I think it's part appetite, but also part inflation. Whatever the reason it was gone too soon! Lastly, I got the mango lassi. I put it in the fridge to get cold again. What can I say? It's a wonderful fruity, smooth drink that washes all the spicy food down and gives me a fresh palette. The ambiance was very vintage like and relaxed. I appreciated that and the service was nice. We ordered a few entrees off the veggie options. My favorite was the tikka paneer masala with the garlic naan. Though I can't remember what the other four were (oops!) they were good. The order comes with rice which is nice. For apps we did have the aloo chaat. That dish sadly was very sad looking and tasted the same way. It didn't have any flavor at all and was boring. We did get the tandoori mushroom and that was a great app. The mango lassi was a little sour for my tastebuds. We did notice they charge for onion and lemon, even though we never asked for that. We made the mistake of not double checking the bill... but after reading some reviews I'd recommend doing so if you choose to dine here. Being sneaky is a no-go for me. read more

The momos although on a softer side were very flavorful and had a nice spicy kick to it. Edges were a little burnt which added a great depth of crispness to it. Got the tandoori trio platter. The red chicken was lacking a bit of salt but still very flavorful. The malai chicken was amazing. Very well blend of spice and creaminess. The green chicken was good too. Pakoras were a bit oily and lacked a bit of salt. But still very good and crunchy. Lasuni gobi was amazing. Had great flavor and a spicy after effect. Loved it and would absolutely recommend getting these. My mouth is still embering The chicken korma was good. A little different style than I have had before but it's really good. The chicken tikka masala was good too but might have been a bit too tomatoy for me. Nonetheless it was good and full of flavor of course. The bullet naan was crispy and absolutely amazing. The cream cheese naan .. not sure how I feel about it yet. One one hand it should go with everything but on the other hand - it shouldn't. It's down to your preference. On its own it was good. With the curries, I don't know. The madras coffee was normal coffe with a slight spice and milk blend. Had the ras malai for dessert and it did not disappoint. Spot on!! Overall the restaurant was great! Service was great! I judge almost all Indian Restaurants based on how good their Biryani is, and this was definitely not good. For the price ($28 for Chicken Biryani), neither the quality nor quantity was good. Food was very tasty and it was my first time visiting. The staff were nice enough to honor the Father's Day buffet at 2:55pm when it ended at 3:00pm and they just brought it out to share family style. However, it was a bit pricey ($35+/person) and it was a shame that we weren't allowed to take food home. It was actually so much food that we barely had room for dessert and we were lucky they gave us two mango lassi to go but still a bit of a rip off considering we paid for 5. Came across this place by chance and wow I am so happy I did. Walking in the ambience is neat, capturing, and super clean. The host was very nice and sat us right away. Our waitress was very helpful helping us choose what would be great to try and have. The owner of the place came over personally to ask us how we are doing and if we needed anything, very sweet and caring person. We ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindalu, and paneer. My goodness it was a burst of flavors and it was absolutely delicious. The spices the flavors the whole meals overall were spectacular. We've been here about five or six times and comment to each other every time about how consistently good the food is. The decor is very pleasing and when you sit down, you will always be asked about your preferred spice level. Recently we tried the salmon tikka and the coconut salmon. Second time to a great local favorite. Beautiful ambiance inside and delicious Indian food. Service isn't the fastest even when it wasn't packed for lunch but the wait is definitely worth it. Order the chicken combo lunch special which is an incredible value you get 1 chicken entree dish and 1 vegetable entree dish. While the portions don't look big the entree are so rich and flavorful u don't need alot. They also give you plenty of rice to accompany the entrees. We enjoyed all the entrees ordered. Tikka masala chicken was tender and a nice mild tomato sauce. Also got the butter chicken which is super similar to the Tikka masala but even sweeter. So if u can't handle the spice maybe butter chicken is a better option. For the vegetarian we got the shahi korma crey and flavorful with a nice mix of veggies and a slight kick. And the chickpea and spinach dish, can't remember the name now, but that was also yum with a kick. If you are in the area definitely go check it out! read more

Ordered takeout from here on a Wednesday night. Friendly representative on the phone took my order and explained the level of spice in the meals (if you haven't had Indian spice understand that this tends to be a different level of spice so be forewarned). Order: I order chicken tikka masala and chicken korma which each came with a side of white basmati rice. I ordered two orders of garlic naan as well. Review: the chicken tikka masala and the chicken korma were both very flavorful and were nice and warm even after driving the food home. The garlic naan is individually placed in aluminum foil lied baggies which keeps them warm and fresh. The garlic naan was fluffy and flavorful. My one critic is that the chicken was over cooked so it was a but harder on the outside than I would prefer for a stew but the flavor of the sauces made it better. Customer service: when I arrived the food was already bagged and labeled on a table and the representative quickly took my card and handed me the food. He also thanked me for ordering and wished me a good evening. I would give this place a 4.5 star but Yelp doesn't allow it. I will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

Granted I ordered through grubhub ..or maybe it was DoorDash- the food came packaged neatly with everything still in their containers We ordered the chicken tikka masala, samosas, and the aloo Gobi (V) which has turned into one of my favorite entrees, and of course, garlic naan Everything was just SO good and the amount of spice was absolutely perfect. My husband can't take too spicy and I don't enjoy my food when the spice over powers my natural taste so the kick was just right The aloo gobi is a perfect vegetarian dish that comprises of potatoes and cauliflower which Has become my new favorite dish. My husband likes to stay safe with the chicken tikka masala (as I'm sure many like to do) and it was just as good. The chicken was cooked well and the creamy signature tikka masala sauce paired well with the rice and made it a perfect dipping sauce for the naan. The naan was so nice and warm with a nice crispy, mildly, burnt layer on top, giving it a nice crunch start and a softness to the end. SO GOOD, my mouth is watering. I finally managed to stop by Tabla for a lunch course. It was a Friday 1pm visit, the restaurant was mostly empty. But I was happily greeted by the host and the excellent service continued throughout the meal. They have a pretty large menu with some of the unique dishes. I ordered the samosa chaat for appetizers and chicken mango curry (usually don't see this dish in other Indian restaurants) for entree. Enjoyed the chaat a lot, it was a mix of sweetness (from yogurt) and savory. The curry was spicy but sooo tasty. It sauce went soo well with the garlic naan. The mango pieces are sliced not chunked, adds some extra flavor to it. This has been my best Indian restaurants experience in Ridgewood so far, out of 3 places I dined in. Will look forward to try them again in future. What a wonderful find in Ridgewood. Today, I was walking back from an Easter service nearby when my friend and I saw that this restaurant was opened for lunch While I started admiring the elegant decor, a waiter came to welcome us. We sat at a quiet table, by the window, and proceeded to peruse the menu. My friend had never eaten Indian food, so I was careful to point her to non spicy choices. Our waiter immediately came to help. He was pleasantly chatty, told us about his family in Calcutta, and guided us. My guest was reluctant to eat spicy food. So, he recommended samosas that were fried to perfection, crisp on the outside, filled with the wonderful flavors of India that included a final little spicy kick at the end. We devoured the nans that were freshly baked, a dab of oil and herbs. Having lived in India - a very long time ago - I decided to go for a special curry from Kerala. The small meat balls were very moist, imbued with the curry sauce. Truly authentic and delicious. Real Basmati rice accompanied the curry. everything is fresh, filled with flavors from the sub continent, a invitation to travel! We ended up with dessert. My friend opted for cheese cake, which was a home made version, very rich, creamy, completely unexpected. I had requested kulfi (for old time sake). The version I received was indeed a kulfi but made with mangoes. At first, I was a little disappointed, but dug in...... to the bottom of the bowl, and I even licked my spoon. This was a great discovery on a quiet Sunday, excellent friendly service. We plan to return soon to try other dishes. read more

Went on a Thursday evening and the right side of the restaurant was having a Sweet 16 dinner party and the left side had plenty of room for regular diners. Great location and high ceilings which adds to the ambience i.e. you don't feel closed in. The food was delicious. My daughter had the paneer which she loved. The garlic naan was to die for. We also shared 2 vegan dishes, a spicy cauliflower dish and some sort of crunchy noodle dish and both were fantastic. Highly recommend!! A truly amazing experience! It was a symphony of spices dancing a perfect ballet on my tongue. The Staff is very friendly and attentive. They go out of there way to make sure your food and experience is 100% The atmosphere is mid to upscale. Perfect for a date or pair of couples on the night out. It is also fam friendly as we were a party of 5. I had the goat Biryani which was tender and delicious. The heat on it was perfect not overbearing but the right amount of spice. I also was able to sample around the table (was dining with family). The Chicken tiki was delicious as was the chicken shish. The tiki had a combo of spices that sent my senses into a happy song. I must admit I do not eat out often. Went to this restaurant 3/10/2025 with my daughter. The Restaurant has a small vestibule and I tend to look around before I enter the restaurant. What I am looking for is a sign the establishment charges additional fees for the use of a credit card. I also perused the menu for the same. I found no sign, and the menu stated they accept credit cards. I ordered a Chicken Korma which came with white rice , and four or five pieces of chicken in a sauce for $23.99 with NO VEGETABLES. I eat whatever is placed in front of me; the Chicken Karma tasted fine. I got the bill and it showed an additional 3.5% credit card charge. I asked the owner why the charge. He stated it is listed when one enters the Restaurant. Went to the vestibule and looked carefully, no sign stating 3.5% surcharge. I demanded removal of the additional charge and mentioned that it was not acceptable to surcharge customers for something that is part of accepting CC and it is the cost of doing business. I decided not to leave a tip as I cannot accept such fraud from anyone. I spoke to some friends who regularly eat in Ridgewood, NJ and found this same practice of charging additional funds for credit card use. I suggest not to patronize such establishments. read more
