I called Benjamin's Plumbing (after being ghosted by a couple of other plumbers) and I was shocked that he said he could send someone out within the next hour! The communication was awesome and I got a text saying that Jorge was on his way. It was great not having to wait around all day unsure of when someone would show. I'd been told by another plumber that my house would need to be re-piped due to a laundry drain/kitchen drain in a very old house issue, and that there was nothing else that could be done. This was going to cost thousands of dollars. I was prepared to have this technician tell me the same thing, because why would someone try to scam a single mother? Jorge showed up right on time with a huge smile on his face, ready to help. He was so kind and was able to quickly determine the source of the issue. He was very knowledgeable on how old houses are piped, and explained it was just a clog. He even waited patiently while I tested the washer to make sure it would work after he cleared the drain. He was done in less than an hour, left the area cleaner than it was when he started, and saved me thousands of dollars. He was so transparent throughout the whole time and gave me pointers on preventing clogs in the future. We had a slab leak in our home which constituted being an emergency. It was early morning, not quite 8am yet and I called about 4 local plumbers/handymen and nobody answered their phones. I left 4 messages with each of these individuals/establishments and not one even returned my urgent phone call pleading for assistance. It was then that Benjamin's was referred to us by a family member and Ben called us back right away. He understood the urgency and proceeded to move around his already busy schedule that day in order to make it to our home and evaluate the issue. He quickly diagnosed the issue and let us know that we definitely 100% had a slab leak. He spoke directly and truthfully covering all the options that we had in order to get it fixed. He steered us in the right direction but ultimately left the choice up to us. We decided on going with fully re-piping the house, so that a slab leak would never again be a situation that we would have to be in. I was concerned about the time it would take (as I have 3 large dogs that cannot be kept in one spot too long), and also concerned about the quality of work that would be done in my home. Ben talked us through every step of the way and assured us that by the time this was over... it would appear that there was never a problem in the first place. Brand new plumbing in the entire house and they completely re-patched and textured all the holes they needed to gain access to plumbing within our walls. They respected the surrounding areas by covering everything with plastic or cloth. This included flooring, surrounding walls, appliances, furniture etc. Not only that, but they proceeded to clean up as best as possible once the job was done. Our expectations were met 110%. Ben and his team went far and beyond what I believe any other contractors would have given us. He was extremely knowledgeable, responsive, understanding, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in the Riverside area. Rest assured that you would be treated fairly, kindly, and the job would be over before you know it. Our home was completely back to normal in 2 days time. We had a leak on an outside faucet on a Saturday. The next day was the 4th of July and no service was answering their phone. We had to put water in buckets to use inside the house until we could get a plumber out. Ben came out on Monday even though many others were still closed for the holiday. He fixed the leak, added a turn off valve and gave several extremely helpful tips on how to protect the outdoor plumbing from the elements, etc. He was prompt, thorough and very polite. Five stars all the way around! I used Ben about a couple weeks ago, I'm in a rental and experienced a reoccurring problem with my pilot light not staying lit. So after getting a very unhelpful response from the original company I used, I came across Ben's Plumbing. As it started getting colder at nights recently I was looking to have someone come out sooner rather than later, so it was after hours! Now there is a fee (completely understandable) but very convenient. Upon arriving at exactly when he said he would, I soon discovered that the water heater had been not incorrectly install BUT not up to code regulations. So he diagnosed the problem and took down my water heater information. After explaining that that's the same problem I had the prior year, he recommend he call the manufacturer and see what was going on. (I loved this because with the prior water heater company, they made me to the leg work which is difficult bc I don't know parts or explanation as well as "the professionals") Anyway, the water heater couldn't be fixed right then and there AND the manufacturer is on the east coast, so he said the soonest he'd have answers is 7/8am the next morning. Next morning he had very early and promptly called, and had answers for me by 8am! And had my replacement by 11am or so and install started before I was on my lunch! The install was probably longer than typical as he had to essentially do what the first company lacked to do and install the unit in properly. It's been two weeks and I have no issues with my unit, and have had nice warm water for my morning showers! Aside from the good work performed and the great work ethic I interacted with, he is a very relatable and understanding human. While things of this nature aren't ever going to be "cheap" I do not recommend you cut corners and go with someone cheaper bc chances are they aren't doing it properly (like we discovered). I could've done it myself or hire a handyman at lower price, but I wanted the piece of mind of having a plumber do the job correctly per code since it involved gas. I came home from work to find a pipe leaking everywhere!! I live in a back house and had to call the landlord to explain what was going on. I HIGHLY recommend Ben for Drain cleaning. Ben took care of an emergency situation for us a year ago when roots and debris clogged the drain underneath commercial property going to the street. When we heard the sound of rushing water in our walls at midnight, we freaked out! I saw this company was open 24/7 and called immediately. Within 20 minutes he arrived and diagnosed the problem. We set up a replacement water heater for later that afternoon. He made sure that the set up was to code (the previous installation was not) and worked to get it all together. He even graciously helped clean up a water mess (that was our fault for not turning off the upstairs faucets after the water got turned back on).
