I had a very disappointing experience with this company through my home warranty. The technician came to my home, diagnosed the issue, and I paid the $100 service call fee. However, my home warranty company later informed me that this company never submitted the required diagnosis or claim write-up for authorization. Because of that, my warranty claim was closed without any repairs being approved or completed. After I raised the issue, the owner apologized and agreed in writing to refund my $100 service call fee. He asked how I wanted to receive payment, then later stated he would mail me a business check. I provided my mailing address immediately. Despite multiple follow-up emails over the following weeks, I never received the promised refund. I was also given conflicting explanations for why my claim was denied. During the service visit, I was told the issue was an improperly installed double-trapped condensate drain. Later, after the claim had already been closed, I was told it was denied because of a lack of maintenance due to construction debris. Meanwhile, my warranty company maintained that no diagnosis or authorization request had ever been submitted before the claim was closed. Ultimately, I had to hire another HVAC company to resolve the problem myself. My concern isn't that the warranty claim wasn't covered--it's that the required paperwork was never submitted, the communication was poor, and the promised refund was never sent despite repeated assurances. read more

Unfortunately, the home warranty company was a pain for them to deal with, in getting the part they needed, but they pursued. They were scheduled between 11-3 on Thursday, July 6, 2023 and they no call no showed. I called them and it was if I inconvenienced them and the Customer Service Representative and Office Manager stated they had not assigned my service to a technician but that they would re-schedule for between 11-3 on Friday, July 7, 2023. Again, they no call no showed and again they claimed they had not assigned the service to any technician. My home is well over 85+ degrees and Bennett and Sons is some form of "Home Warranty Mill" taking the requests but not providing service. They have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and are unaccredited too. Worst customer service of any purported professional business I have ever encounter. They cannot be trusted to provide services, they do not communicate, and do not care about inconveniencing customers or the health and welfare of their clients. I had called my warrantee company to get my air handler on my ac unit fixed. I got a call the next day from Bennet and Sons to have someone come out and look at my air handler. the tech was supposed to come the next day but he didn't show up as planned. I called and spoke to Patty, I did NOT experience the rude lady as others have said, and she apologized for the delay, she said he would be here about 5:30 and I asked if the tech could come the next day, Friday, instead as I had plans, she said that would be good. The guy showed up pretty early on Friday and diagnosed the problem. very quickly, took pictures of the units and he let the company know what was wrong in a phone call. I didn't hear from them on Monday so I called and Patty picked up and said she had gotten the approval and would order the parts. I asked how long before the tech would be back out to repair the unit. she told me possible Tuesday but probably Wednesday. I sad ok and I called back on tuesday and she said he would be here Wednesday first thing and would call before he showed up. 9 am rolled around and I hadnt heard from anyone so i called and again Patty answered, she said he was on his way. All of a sudden I hear someone shouting at Patty and asking did she call me or did I call them. I didn't understand why he was yelling at her about that but anyway she told the me the tech was on his way and shortly after that the technition arrived. The technician named Mike was very pleasant, repaced the parts, checked to make sure it was running properly, cleaned up and left. My AC unit is still working perfectly. I can say Patty was mostly pleasant to me but having a boss yelling across the room when she is on a phone call with me is rude so if people have had a hard time with Patty being anything but nice it probably because of her bosses behavior. He probably could be more professional and not yell across the room at her while she is on a call with a customer. After putting up with behavior like that all day I think I would probably be a bit nasty mood too. He is the only reason i didn''t give them 5 stars. RUN. Sheena promised to call me back in regards to my AC on Tuesday. I called twice yesterday, and twice today. She refuses to talk to me. Patty is even worse. Shes one of the rudest customer service staff I have ever spoken to. These guys did a full diagnostic, charged me $800 to completely uninstall and reinstall my unit...came back 5 days later to say that now it's not cooling due to something they didn't see both during the diagnostic and the tear out...but definitely isn't their fault and not something they caused. Their techs also SAWED into my wall without asking me??? I will be disputing my payment to them if I do not receive a call by tomorrow afternoon. Yesterday our air conditioner stopped working. Kris, from, Bennett and Sons contacted me within one day. I explained that I had doctors appointments and my wife has asthma. He volunteered to work his visit outside our medical appointments. He arrived promptly aand was very supportive in solving our issue. He was both knowledgeable and kindly. He replaced both damaged capacitors and checked the refridgerent. My wife and I were impressed with his work ethic. He double checked everything prior to reassembling the electrical compartment. In addition, when I spoke with the dispatcher on several occasions throughout the day , she assured me that Bennett and Sons would be ontop of the situation and see to it that our issue would be resolved that day. They kept their word and both of us are extreemly pleased with the professionalism of both the staff and the company. Bravo! read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I let this company come to my property. The guy who wrote that they are a home warranty claim mill was right. They seem to grab claims filed, despite knowing that they won't be able to come out for days (it is mid-90's outside and sweltering) even if your a/c isn't working at all. After five days of 84 degrees inside at best, two different techs came out. Despite agreeing that the house wasn't cooling, they said the a/c was working fine. All they did was read their equipment, and they refused to diagnose the issue at all. The first yahoo said it was an "insulation problem", despite the insulation being the same as it was last week when the 2-year old unit worked just fine. The second yahoo said it was a "duct problem", but refused to go in the attic to find out what the problem was without being paid for another claim. They did everything possible NOT to help, and now it is another weekend, and I'll have to go stay in a hotel. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. It seems like a total scam all the way around. I had to take off of work for this kind of crap, and will now have to start over completely. There should be a "0" star rating for Bennett & Sons. Patty was very nice, until she wasn't. And that turn happened fast. She went from "hon" and "baby" to "My guys don't get in attics" to actually solve anything on a dime. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Was assigned Bennet and Sons through home warranty. Technician came out to look at unit and did not resolve issue, overcharged AC unit with refrigerant and tried to have us replace a pipe (that didn't need replacing nor would solve our issue) and mentioned that our zone controller wasn't working. Once the technician left I am immediately called the office as our unit continued running although I turned off the thermostats to see if technician could return and was told there was nothing they could do. Called another company which immediately looked at unit and changed the AC contactor and adjusted refrigerant and had unit running immediately, they also mentioned all other items in unit looked good, including the two which Bennet and Sons wanted to replace. Chris came out to provide bi annual service our two ac units. The 23 year old unit needed to be replaced. It's almost Easter and we are having a house full of out of town family. As we had used this company in past to do repairs on our a/c unit we decided to go with them when it came time to replace the entire unit. We told them we wanted a Carrier 5 ton, 14 seer unit. They gave us a quote for a Carrier. After they got done installing, we found out they installed a Payne unit. Their excuse was that it is a Carrier "product". Basically, we paid for a Lexus, but got a Corolla. A damaged one at that. Also found out after, they never got a permit from our city & that when we do that ourselves it will not pass inspection due to several things they did incorrectly or just didn't do at all. We've done several things to try to fight this but it'll cost more to keep fighting that to just bring it up to code. Please do not use this company. As a single mom owning a home is expensive. I have home warranty plan and they suggested i call Bennett & Sons. I love that fact, knowing they have looked into the businesses for me. Chris the Tech came out and looked at my older system and said it is in good shape just needs some new parts. He fixed on the spot and now my Air is nice and cold. He did find a board that was never hooked up correctly and fixed it. I had another company 3 years ago look at my system when i first bought it and never found that. Very rude people not professional at all. The very moment the technician got here he already had it in his head he wasn't going to do the job ...he called the office and lied to them told them he needed an extension ladder to get on our roof which was an out and out lie the way our home is built it is almost ground level to the roof ... the front of the house 1 big step up snd you would be on the roof. where our house is almost underground the backside of our house is the part that is two-story but you can literally walk from the yard onto the roof in the front of the house so without him even trying or looking he called the office and LIED TO THEM! Then I called the office to speak to the lady as she screamed at me and accused me of screaming at her which I wasn't I was trying to explain that no ladder was needed at all but she kept interrupting me... she told me this was a dangerous job because he had to go into the attic I said people go in this attic all the time our handyman was just in the attic yesterday looking at where the leak is Mark has gone in the attic exterminators have gone in the attic all kinds of people but the air conditioning man can't go in the attic and the rude ignorant lady on the phone said well why don't you go up there and hold the flashlight for him ma'am like it's my job I wouldn't recommend these people for nothing there's a reason they have a 2.9 rating if I could've given them A. This company was sent out by my home warranty. In the past I haven't had too many problems with them but now... I'm trying to get my AC issue resolved, the receptionist transfers me to Patty, who doesn't let you explain anything, only defends her tech with untruthful information. I have pictures that will prove what she said is incorrect. Patty is the rudest person, she yells at you, doesn't let you speak and hangs up. Anyway, I'm not giving in to her intimidation and rudeness. It seems like my claims are correct the drain pan broke when the tech removed the drain line, I'm sure not on purpose, things happen, but when "things happen" I expect the right thing to be done, to take accountability for it, make it right. Don't get defensive, yell, says things that aren't true, she wasn't ever at my house for the repair. I have a witness and pictures to prove what she says didn't happen, did actually happen. If she'd take the time to listen to the customer, give an email for me to send pictures or even look at the pictures the tech took she'd possibly understand the situation a bit better. I'll be reaching out to the owners and any other source to get this resolved. I've done a lot of business with this company through the years with my profession. However, if they can't make this right, I'll be doing business elsewhere. I'm sure they don't care, there's several other people that always need their services. Bottom line, document everything, you will need it to defend yourself when a company doesn't make things right for the customer. Don't bother trying to talk to Patty, she's just plain out rude!! I appreciate this company and their technicians. I had an older AC unit go down and Harry worked with me over a weekend to get service. Several other companies over the last few months looked at it but never determined the problem. I chose to replace and upgrade the unit to a heat pump. They replaced the unit in a few days. They tell you of a major AC problem and then just leave the work site unwilling to address and correct the problem leaving you without solution. My home warranty company contracted Bennett & Son to services/replace my air conditioner in August 2022. It was determine that the entire unit was in need of replacement. Since August of '22 they have serviced this new unit on three (3) different ocassions. The new unit in question is a Lennox brand and has been nothing but problems. Which it seems as if Bennett & Son Techician had not been able to service my new Unit since they have been here 3 times since the installation. Today (6/30/23) Bennett & Son was scheduled to come and service my air condition once again, between the hours of 11:00 am & 3:00 pm. I waited all day in my "HOT" home, at which time a call was placed to their office at approximately 3:10 pm. to check on their arrival time. I was informed they attempted to call me several time and even left messages on my home and cell numbers. Upon receiving this message, my home and cell numbers calls were reviewed and did not reflect any calls from the company. Please be mindful, I've been in my home ALL DAY awaiting their arrival. They were informed this incident would be reported to the home warranty company, and their response was simply do so! As a result a complaint has been reported regarding this company and for them not to send a Techician from this company to my home again. Consumer beware!!!!! read more

She is so rude, she screamed, disrespect and hang up the phone on us. Our situation happened last week, my AC stopped working and we claimed the home warranty with Choice Home warranty (HCW). CHW send out the technician from Bennett and Sons who named Louis. Louis came out check the system but he can't find out the problem, he said this is above his ability to check so he will ask to send Chris over. The next thing I found out from HCW that they denied my claim. Bennett and Sons disclosed the problem was owner's responsibility and not cover by insurance. We tried to call back the office and ask why Louis has told us that he doesn't know what is the problem and now he identified that the problem is not cover by insurance. Is there any misunderstanding. Patty at the office answered the phone and started the whole disrespected conversations. Definitely don't do business with them. Try to get another company if your home warranty send them. I don't know how they still stay in business. And how Patty still has the job.
