This place is the best little hardware store in Sonoma County as someone before mentioned. They always seem to have everything I need, but more importantly they have great folks working there. The retired older guys are a trove of valuable information and advice! Our kitchen sink line got clogged and I was prepared to buy a pipe snake, Liquid Plumber, and you name it. Tom helped me and said "nah, you don't need all that" and proceeded to tell me exactly what to do at home with NO tools. He could have sold me lots of stuff, but I ended up buying only channel locks just in case. He was so nice and helpful and as always, if I need anything else again I will definitely be back! read more

For a strip mall, "I need one stinking drywall screw and can't find ANY of them in my junk drawers," hardware store this place is A-Okay! Their staff seems to know where everything is located. Close minded and unwelcoming. I've always come to this Ace, however the last time I'd went, I had dyed blue hair and was wearing a hoody with the phrase "Pray to God" on it. I was 'accosted', as a previous reviewer mentioned. An old, overweight white man pointed out my hoodie ironically and said "well I'll bet you're a real believer. Nice job representing". He was sarcastic and condescending and his coworker laughed at me. I'll take my business elsewhere. My clothing has nothing to do with religious affiliation, it's simply a little slogan. read more

great neighborhood hardware store. the staff is well rounded where if someone doesn't know something, there usually another person that does. they are very helpful and available contrasted with home depot or lowes where staff if is either hard to find or unfriendly. occasionally, i can't find what i need. this is pretty rare though. price is a bit higher, but it's supported by much better customer service. read more

I went in to try to replace a broken nightlight switch I bought in Hawaii. I've looked in several places, but couldn't find a switch to fit my special nightlight. Bennett Valley Ace Hardware is very close to where I live, so it's my goal to hardware store. They always have what I want, even though it's nowhere as large as, say, Home Depot. They have a good selection of paint varieties and colors, and let me take as many samples as I want it. They also have screen material by the yard, which is something I needed. This little hardware store is probably the best in Sonoma county. Sure they might not have everything the big box stores have, but they have an amazing selection for their size and the customer service is spot on. I have never been into a Lowes or Home Depot where the employees asked you several times if you need help finding something. They will even offer sound advice for projects if you need a hand. I was introduced to this little store because of my best friend who also works at this store. The staff is always really nice. I've only had the chance to really talk with Amy, Tina, Steve, and Gary, but I'm always greeted and asked if I need help finding anything by the others, such as Tom, Chris, or Rod as soon as I walk in. I'm somewhat blown away by one of the reviews that said there were no adults to be found in this store, as most of the staff are retirees, and the younger staff are in their 30's, and all of which have their customer service down pretty good. most if not all of the staff, despite their age, are extremely knowledgeable about the ins and outs of repairs of everything from electrical, to plumbing, to wood finishing, and color matching, that it's like having a living home repair guide at your finger-tips. usually, if I'm looking for something hardware related, I'll check here first before anywhere else due to the fact that I know most of the staff have real world experience using most of the products they sell, and can tell me how to use it at a more in depth level should I need help with anything I'm not familiar with. even if my friend chose to move on, the staff here has impressed me enough by how they treat customers that I'd definitely give them my business first before heading to a big box store. read more

This is as close as you can get to the feel of the small town local hardware store. The help is always smiling and friendly. The prices are very competitive and it sure beats driving to wandering through one of those big warehouse stores to get help and then find what you need to make most home repairs. It compares closely with the Ace Hardware store in Chester were we have a second home. I have yet to go in and not come out with what I needed. For those of us that live in the Bennett Valley area it's the only place to go for your hardware needs. It's to bad we can't get the same service from the county when it comes to fixing the pot holes on Bennett Valley Road. read more

This place has come through 2 times now for me. I always forget it is there, but when I remember, it is a huge time saver and the prices are reasonable too! Oh yeah, and there are actually people there to help you with what you need. I was going to order something I needed online after not finding it at one of those big box places then thought I would give them a call. Not only did they have what I needed, but knew exactly what I needed it for and had it ready for me when I arrived. Nice job, guys. It would be a 5 but it is a bit small and doesn't offer a huge selection. They have everything, but only one choice of everything. We've been going to this store ever since the new owners took over and we LOVE it! All of the sales people are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to talk to. The store has an amazing inventory and several times they special-ordered an item for us that they didn't normally stock - and didn't charge us extra for it. They have even repaired several broken objects for us - and these were things that we hadn't bought there. We make it a point to drop in whenever we are in the area, whether we need something or not. read more

I've just moved into Bennett Valley (love it by the way) and was speaking with neighbor about how I hated the wall colors in my house.
