Came in on a busy Saturday. Line to check out was at least 50 people long. I came up to the cashier and she was super rude her name was "Mayra coordinator". She didn't even greet me or offer a bag. She did not offer to wrap my glass/ceramic products with paper. Horrible service, small ceramic/glass objects should be wrapped! Older Lady with short blonde Bob haircut working cashier was rude. I asked for an item that is an item hard to find. I asked if I could buy and she said it was on hold for someone then she revealed it was for an employee who wasn't even working! I asked how long it would be on hold for and another employee (male) overheard and said they could hold it for days depending on the item. At this point it seems they were holding an item foe someone who wasn't even working and was not even going to buy until they would be back at work which didn't seem like it would be anytime soon! They keep the items for themselves and have their friends and family pickup their items that they purposely place on hold without putting them out on the floor. read more

We bought a "JOY" wood holiday decor sign and 24 hours later termites were coming out of the sign into our home. We have the sign in a sealed package and will be Pursuing further if the termites went into the walls of our home. We have video proof and seen a termite in the holes of the wood. HomeGoods is one of the best places to find one of a kind items! I really love their large variety of goods. You can literally find everything and anything here. If your plan to upgrade your room, bathroom or the whole house you can definitely find it here for an amazing price. If you do find something you really love I recommend buying it because it won't be there the next day! Everything is so chic and their prices are amazing. It is clean and they try to get everything to fit but sometimes it's impossible and I totally get it! The reason why I gave them a 2 star rating is the customer service, it's not the best. When I went up to go pay for my items, I wasn't greeted I greeted him. I paid and he just pushed my items as I was putting my wallet away and did not say thank you. This is by far one of my favorite places to shop. It is actually a good thing I do not live closer to this store or I would be in serious trouble. I love this shop as it offers some great prices for everyday items you need for your home. They offer the latest trends at a decent price. This retail outlet hosts many of the popular brands at a slight discount as you may expect; why pay full price if you can avoid it right?! This is my type of Disneyland. My husband gives me a time limit in here whenever we go together. Because we both know I can spend hours searching to find accent pieces for our house. Amazing finds every time I go with a great selection of goods in all categories. It's always fun going in once a month to see what new items they have received. This location is super busy during the weekends and the line can wrap around the store. But the staff is extremely friendly so just be expected to stay patient when waiting. read more

However, this particular location is awesome, both with merchandise (they carry Nambe! Score!!) and customer service. Great selection of pretty much everything you need to outfit your home, revamp the home or grab a great gift for someone. I was impressed with the carpet selection, large and smaller rugs in all price ranges. Linens are the same, everything is arranged by color here which is easy to shop and work with. I bought loads of baskets to organize my linen closet and though I had to buy two different styles (10 baskets total) they were complimentary and I had a lot to choose from. I really liked shopping here! The staff pointed out where I could find a few jewelry boxes but then said "over there is the clearance and you would like this one more" she was totally right! In Petaluma, everything is better. They have one of the best (albeit smallest) Whole Foods; their Grocery Outlet has a farmer's market theme&great selection. Petaluma's HomeGoods is superior to the Napa one. They have great prices, and they were doing a business. Their current theme is "Authentic India." The food selection is particularly good. I should've gotten the White Russian-flavored coffee. Their coffee selection has great variety. If you're looking for home decor, necessities for various rooms, along with food, this is the place to go. It's a bright, happy, colorful place. read more

This HomeGoods location is OK. It has a nice variety of things, but low quantities on many popular items. The store was clean and organized, unlike some of their competitors. It was difficult to find an employee to answer a question I had. I ended up going to the TJ Max side for assistance. It was surprising to me that TJ max was connected to HG, and they share one large line of registers. Kind of strange. Prices are OK. Not much of a bargain here. read more

I'm a sucker for HomeGoods. When I moved to the Bay Area I was disappointed that there wasn't a HomeGoods nearby. When I discovered they were coming to Petaluma I was very excited! HomeGoods is owned by TJ Maxx and there's actually a TJ attached to this store. It's large, clean, and they have an excellent selection of products. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic. I love both HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. You can find nice linens, furniture, cookware, decorations and many other items for your home at reasonable prices. I will definitely be back! read more

I called ahead of a return of a sofa. I was instructed to just come to the register which I did. I get in line, and the man behind the counter instructs me to bring the car to the curb and he will send help to unload. I do as he said and no help was sent. I get in the line again and he instructs me to wait for the help by the door, and there I go again. Two young women came and said the flat carts are all occupied, and barely carry the couch in the door. I go back to the register and he again asks me to get back in line, 3rd time! After the return was made I walked up to him and said how rude and frustrating the return had been and the fact that he lacked proper training, a return should not have taken over 45 minutes. At this the woman who made the return basically yelled at me to leave that I was harassing him. Well let me tell you something, don't shop on Tuesdays at 5 pm in the Petaluma store, unless you want to be treated like crap. read more

I love this place. Went back this past weekend to try and find a small cabinet for our av equipment....furniture inventory was a little low compared to past visits but I did find some other things to bring home. Twice I've brought in returns that were either without a receipt or past the return window and both times they still took it back which is awesome. I'll always check here if I'm looking for something for the house, as opposed to going to more expensive interior design places. They seem to follow the trends at a fraction of the cost. I can't say enough good things about this store and its employees. I bought my first house in late October and this Home Goods (as well as the even newer one in San Rafael) made it a home. The merchandise is unique, elegant, and well organized, and perfect for my river/ lake/ beach/ sea/ nautical decor. It may not be cheap, but the prices are usually significantly better than for comparable items anywhere else. I bought most of my art work, wall hooks, night stands, end tables, accent tables, bed and table linens, throw pillows, curtains, lamps, serving trays, shower curtains, bathroom accessories and shelves, benches, rugs, garden stools and pots, and even a recliner and bar cart from Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. The Petaluma store was my location of choice [and convenience], followed by San Rafael, San Carlos (awesome but less organized possibly because there is more merchandise with which the employees can't keep up), TJ Maxx Coddingtown and San Rafael, and Marshalls. And my brother picked up a chest of drawers at HG in Phoenix (which I found for more than twice the price at the lowest sale price online) on a drive back to the Bay Area. I made one trip to the Napa location after hearing from a number of people that it was amazing. I found some nice things there, but not enough to have made it worth the extra drive on that particular day. But HomeGoods is always hit-or-miss, full of surprises and delights like a bazaar, which makes it more fun. Items are overstock and it's not possible to know if an item will ever turn up again, so if you see something you like and might want, you have to grab it and throw it in your cart or it might be gone by the time you loop back around for it. I will often stand by a piece of furniture that I want and wait until I can flag someone down rather than risk walking away from it. It's not possible to hold items (except while shopping) and paid items can only be held overnight for pickup, so I normally go there with my largest car, empty. Most times I walk into a HomeGoods looking for something like a shower curtain and end up leaving with my car piled just to the point that I can see out of my rear view mirror. The employees are geniuses at loading items into cars, and always gracious and patient. The downside of items being one or two-of-a-kind and not being able to hold items is that for every 12 carloads I take home, I end up having to return about 1 carload. My purchases and returns are always large and I assume the employees must curse under their breaths every time they see me coming, especially the register employees. I often can't get there until 45 mins before closing, and sometimes they have to stay late to process everything. But they are super patient and kind, and always greet me with a smile and say they are happy to see me again, even when they help me unload returns from my car. Thankfully, the return policy is decent, but a major downside is that the register system requires that you have the physical receipt, and returns are made one receipt at a time. So if I have made 12 trips and am returning items from all of those trips, they have to match the item to the physical receipts and put each receipt's returns back on my cc (or store credit if over 30 days) as a separate transaction before moving onto the next receipt. I normally spend the night prior to making returns matching receipts and taping them to the items so that things go as smoothly and quickly as possible at the registers. An updated register system that could locate purchases by credit card or allow all receipts to be scanned at one time and then all returns to be made as one transaction would make returns efficient for employees and customers. I love Home Goods!!!! It's my favorite store. I try to come here every time I'm in Petaluma. Yesterday I was in the Home Goods shopping enter but couldn't go because I didn't have time. I was sad. I only wish Santa Rosa had a Home Goods! Rarely have I come here without buying something. You can find some really interesting things. I found a great sequin pillow on clearance for $2 once. I also found a nice serving tray with a Bridge Street London street sign and a coral sculpture. Basically, most of my home décor is from this store. It's probably a good thing there's no Home Goods in Santa Rosa or I'd go there all the time and spend all my money. read more

Wost experiance I have ever had in my life! Unsafe displayed merchandise, one of their displays fell over on my 4 year old daughter. It seriously could have killed her. The employees swoped in and ran off with the evidance. Then some extremely rude employee actually told me, "There is a lot of breakable and fragile stuff here and you shouldn't let your child run around by their selves." I love homegoods but after today and have a disagreement with a manager I cant say im as in love with this place as I used to be. My husband and I found a beautiful bamboo tray and it was priced at 15 but we noticed a scratch and a corner of the tray was completely separated. We brought it up to our cashier and he was helpful and he called his manager to possible do a price fix because it was damaged. The lady manager grabbed the tray ran back to see if they had another one and came back claiming she found a second one that is in perfect condition. She just pushed the corner together so we wouldn't see the gap. I looked at the tray and knew it was the same tray because the scratch was in the same exact place. She gave so much attitude and said she would only give a dollar off. I was so annoyed I simply said "I dont trust you." I did not like her attitude or how she tried to trick us into buying something that is broken! read more

Great HomeGoods store. Am familiar with HomeGoods on East Coast, where I live part time. HomeGoods definitely is not "a bigger version of Ross," as one reviewer said. Rather, it's definitely a bit more upscale, always reliably stocked -- you'll find at least one or two unusual, pleasing pieces each visit; merchandise well organized and laid out. Plus HomeGoods has absolutely excellent customer service, unlike Ross, and it is not depressing to walk into HomeGoods (not a dis at Ross; just comparing, though I do frequent Ross on occasion).
