I normally don't go to this location but was there last month, looking at lawn mowers. They didn't have the one in the ad in the aisle and I was about to leave when an older gentleman, Troy, appeared. He was most helpful, listen to what I was looking for and took me to another spot where the sale mover was. He explained the features, talked about his personal experience with this brand and helped load it on my cart. He said he was part of a new bunch of hires that roamed the aisles giving help, a group of retirees, to help with service. I've avoided this location due to the messy parking lot and lack of service, but Toy made my morning. So helpful! read more

I ordered my cement pallet on Saturday and it was going to get delivered Sunday. It got pushed back to Monday. The timeframe was from 6a-8p. Luckily it came Monday morning. Buyer Beware! (countertops and cabinets) I purchased vein matching for my countertops. The installers installed two large sections of backsplash upside down so that the veins didn't not match‍. I still have not heard back from them how they are going to compensate/fix this. Home Depot and the installers couldn't explain who was responsible for installing the counter subtop. They both claimed the other was responsible for installing the subtop. A subtop is included in the purchase price. I installed it and paid for it myself and gave up on a refund for it after getting excuse after excuse from HD. Bought whole cabinet set as well. Received two defective cabinets, one was really bad (both bowed, one broken. They also installed doors on the wrong side, leaving dents in the wood once I had to switch to other side. So they send you cabinets knowing you are going to have to patch holes on brand new cabinets lol. They then said they were sending me a new cabinet to replace the broken one, a month later I contacted them about it as I hadn't received it yet and they said that they didn't say that. I had to prove it to them by showing the email where they explicitly said they were sending me a new one. The amount of miscommunication and just bad customer service through the process was almost comical. I could tell they were tired of hearing from me emailing them about all their mess ups. But when you spend tens of thousands on a project, there is an expectation that you aren't going to get sent junk cabinets or get junk service. read more

This review is re: paint dept. I went in with a color name and number that was in a Home Depot ad. The man in paint dept could not figure out the color and was clueless, event tho I had the name and number. I went to customer service and they were able to find the paint online. We took it to the paint dept, and the man there still said he had no clue etc. Website said it was available to order online. When I suggested we do that, both customer service and the paint dept staff said "oh no, we can't make it". There was no other staff in paint dept to assist. I went home, ordered it online and it was available to pick up within hours. I went and got the paint. EXPLAIN THAT ?! Staff not trained ?? read more

I was looking to buy a new BBQ so I was looking at the electric propane grill called the ninja I was charged $1100.00 It came in a lot of parts that took about 7 hours to assemble didn't think it came unassailable for one thing now I got it together they our selling the same BNQ for $300. Less????? And it says you can return it BUT ITS GOT TO BE IN THE Originalcurtain I believe I was talking advantage of!!!!!! This review is based solely on the attitude of the female checker running the non-self checkout lines, and her lead, a tall thin fella with facial hair, on the afternoon of 5/14/24 at 3:15PM, so managers you can check your roster to find who they are. First of all I was there to get a Special Buy, a combo of Royobi Chainsaw and Pruning Pole Saw. It said 6 were in stock, in-store pick up. No-where does this say it is an online special. On arrival I found all the battery operated tools locked up in cages with padlocks. You would think perhaps there would be a watchful employee to help when the aisle starts filling up with customers...but no, I had to go track down someone. None of this detracts a star, this is normal day shopping in Home Depot. I finally got what I needed, this combo unit and a leaf blower and happily went to the empty self checkout in garden, and scanned the regular price, not the -$60 off advertised price. The poor guy running the other register had 15 people backed up, so I had him void my purchase and trekked to the other side of the store. On arrival, I asked the female checker is she could help, and she said she could, she scanned, I explained and she was rude, never smiled, never acknowledged my pleasant attitude, and my willingness for an explanation, she said it was an online deal only, I showed her my phone where it clear said in store pickup, 6 in stock - well she treated me like I was stupid and said they can't honor an online deal, to which I replied all their inventory was visible on their website, how was I to know what is online deal or not, so she said I can check with my manager and I said please, so she nodded and this rather tall fella stepped over and without a smile, and also rudely told me they wouldn't honor an online deal. So I handed him the box and said you are going to have to re-stock this as the shelf it comes from is now padlocked again. He took the box without a word and stomped off like a pouting child. Ok then - I purchased my blower and went to my truck. Here is the kicker folks!! I sat in their parking lot and purchased this combo unit from my phone. I had to create an account but that was basic email and password - but it asked if I wanted curbside pickup - download their app...ok! So if I come in, and do all the heavy lifting for you, scan my own stuff and pack it out, I pay full price. But I can schedule curbside pickup, and you have to BRING IT TO ME AT THE SALE PRICE -$60. Ok, no problem, I'll be back later today or tomorrow for my sale price and you can pack it out to me. I understand online deals, but does this make sense to anyone else? That attitude got me tho - maybe they'd rather be home playing video games on a Tuesday afternoon, then working for a living, but I wouldn't hire those two people to pick up garbage from my yard. Try the Windsor Home Depot instead, I have found more friendly employees up there, so it probably comes down to the management in charge and hiring practices. read more

Love every department and how well it's kept. I recently went looking for some items that I didnt know if the store carry. While looking for it this employee came up to me and asked me if I needed help. He patiently helped look for this items and until we found all them. It's an amazing job what your stores has done by providing this outstanding customer service. I love that I found everything I needed in one place and the value is worth the trip. Santa Rosa Home Depot has HORRIBLE customer service. My brother and sister-in-law purchased a refrigerator (theirs had died) & washing machine at the store on 3/21/24. Pd with a debit card. 3/24/24 they canceled the orders at the store when they realized the refrigerator would be too tall for the space. Home Depot MGRS told them we can't give you all the cash. (Apparently HD doesn't keep much at the store) but did refund the washing machine. So 1/3. The total order was a little over $1900. My brother assumed the remainder would go back into their account. WRONG!! At the time of cancelation the store clerk and/or the store manager should have explained the remaining refund would come by check in 4 -7 days, but that was never conveyed. My brother is a simple man but he was frustrated and felt manipulated each time he spoke with a manager at the store. He was getting the runaround for 2 weeks. He was told "The distributor has to sign the refrigerator back into inventory" or "It's corporate's issue, you have to call them". What?!! Nothing was on a truck because they canceled the order within 72 hours!!! I'm a business owner and this didn't make sense to me so I got involved and called the store, asked for a manager and was told the Appliance Service department was who we needed to go through. This information was never given to my brother. We're told the refrigerator is showing as canceled. I ask when will he receive his refund and we are then transferred to someone else. I repeatedly tell each new person we speak with, they need to get this family their money back. They don't have credit cards and are on a limited income, need to still purchase a refrigerator and are unfairly suffering due to lack of quality customer service. Everyone said, "Oh, I'm so sorry, let me transfer you to someone who can help". Three more people and finally we were told it's been escelated and someone will get right on it. We're told the issue has been conveyed and someone will call my brother back. That afternoon my brother receives a call from someone he assumes is from the Corporate office and is told the store's bookkeeper needs to cut the check. It's 4/3/24. He goes to the store and is told the bookkeeper isn't scheduled to be at this particular store today. She'll be in sometime next week. He calls me frustrated. We call Home Depot Corporate the next morning. I ask if they can please cut the check from the corporate level and overnight it to them. I'm told "I can't do that". I ask for someone higher up who possibly can authorize this. After an hour plus of talking with different departments and "Problem Solvers" we were told no check could be cut -it has to be done at the store by the bookkeeper. I said this was taking too long for them. I was so frustrated with the runaround I mentioned calling Channel 7 to help us expose the cataclysmic systems inbedded inside HD and was told "You do what you have to do." Really? My brother goes back to the store the following Tuesday and was told the bookkeeper wasn't at the store but they would have her cut the check. He said "I want to come back and pick it up - DON'T MAIL IT." and apparently that was agreed upon. It's 4/16/24, 7 days later and no check, no phone call either. He goes to HD today to pick up the check and was told by the manager THEY MAILED IT TODAY and he should have it in 4 - 7 days. UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!! Holding onto this family's money was fraudulent and neglectful. They never should have been made to suffer like this. It's inexcusable and after my horrible experience trying to get through to someone at the Corporate level I decided I needed to put their experience here on YELP, in hopes someone at Home Depot would see it and address the issues, not only at this store, but at the Corporate level as well. Until I pushed, there was no credible understandable answer to why my brother was having such a terrible time getting a refund. An evaluatation around the processes and procedures currently in place for refund transactions needs to be reviewed. We were given mulitple reasons as to the delay - with none of them being the same answer. Retraining of employees who handle financial transactions is obvislouly needed. No one could clearly explain to my family what to expect and only after I got involved did we start to get clear answers. Unfortunately, it was stalled (4/16/24) AGAIN at the Santa Rosa Home Depot store. There was no sense of urgency in getting this family - on a limited income - their funds back even after the Corporate office got invovled. It's appalling to see such blatant disregard in helping a family who has lived in the community all of their lives. I know it won't happen, but I feel my brother and sister-in-law are owed an apology - at the very least. No one should be made to feel as insignifiant as they felt when trying to get back what was due to them. read more

I frequent here regularly and it is honestly a mixed bag with customer service. It seems like the staff are afraid to approach and ask if you need help and other days they are there ready to help. The staff can be nice and helpful or completely ignorant to your existence or their part in the whole shopping experience. I rarely see a manager on the floor it seems they stay out of sight out of mind. I have never in the 10 years seen them walk their floors and see what their staff do with interactions. If anything I feel that would improve the staff customer interaction more. Unless the issue resides in management.... The layout and stocking of supplies is like any other Home Depot one day they have what you need for parts and pieces and another day they don't. No surprise constant flux of supplies is never easy to manage. The cost is your usual price ranges as well for a Home Depot. Other than that they are mid range for me in the 10 plus years I have used this as my main supplier of what I can get from them. read more

In this part of Santa Rosa, this seems to be the only game in town (that I know of). The bad: Customer service in almost every department is absolutely atrocious. Everyone seems to be on pins and needles. You can feel the tense atmosphere minutes after you walk in. They look at every man in here as a thief. I've seen people of color gets harassed, ignored and treated badly by the staff here. They have no respect for customers. So bad that you feel uncomfortable watching all of it. Is this a Home Depot in California or a Home Depot in the old Apartheid South Africa? I fault this sad situation to the store manager and his leadership team's attitudes and values -- which might be cascading down to workers at this store. read more

This location is only successful in-spite of themselves. I'm all about customer service having worked in customer service for years including retail. I asked about having PVC cut and was given the run around and wasted time. Normally it's challenging to find anyone to help, when you do they are either talking to one another or you feel like you are interrupting their day. When I finally came upon an employee not in that section I was made to feel like I was asking for a service that was never heard of. Then I asked another question of where to find another item and the employee even made a "funny" remark of wanting it all. I wouldn't have minded the remark under different circumstances. It doesn't fail when I need something from lumber, or assistance within the screws and bolts section I'm made to feel like a "woman is distress" or out of place. I will begin to drive to the competitor even if farther distance just to receive proper customer service. read more

I have had a unexpected challenges in completing a front porch project due to incorrect product, insufficient product, and lack of response from my original provider. I went into Home Depot and was immediately helped by an employee to locate my options in the store. He then introduced me to Tammy Stephens, one of the Pros. She walked me through design options and gave me her card to have my contractor send her the measurements. It could not have been an easier or more enjoyable process, especially after having this project drag out over a month. I would highly recommend this store and working with its Pros. I was reminded today why you don't ask Home Depot anything. Went in because I forgot to get a wing nut and a locking washer at ace. BIG MISTAKE!! Tried asking 3 workers who in that area for a 10-32 wing nut and a 10-32 locking washer. Not hard. First kid had no idea what those were. He then got help and this new guy had no idea what those were either they then asked a third guy and he was even more confused the first 2. I said screw it and walked off. I saw the supervisor on the way out and told him what happened. He could care less. See this is why I don't support big box stores. I purchased a 2.5 Gl continer of Blue DEF Diesel Exhaust Fluid for my car yesterday, and as the level was really low I poured it into the DEF tank while in the parking lot. When I had emptied it I walked over to one of the trash cans outside the store to dispose of the empty plastic continer and cardbox box it comes in. A manager, Maria, came out and told me that can't dispose of the continer there at it is hazardous waste. She pointed to the side of the box that says "Diesel" DEF fluid. When I tried to explain to her that there is nothing hazardous about the product and much less the emplty continer when was rude as heck and told me to leave. What a moron! There is nothing hazardous about DEF Fluid which is confirmed on SDS sheet right off the home depot web site. A box of rocks has more brains that Maria the bimbo manager. read more

He was very patient helping me find items that were in stock but in shipping boxes up high. This review is for William the cashier or person who worked at the front. I was there checking things out but then he asks for the scanner and I hand it to him but he rips it out of my hand! He gives me the side eye look. Man I was so close to punching him in the jaw . Plus we waited and waited for service on aisle 40 for like 10 minutes and NO ONE showed up. However. Two aisles down two workers were literally just standing and chatting. Doing nothing. This place is HORRENDOUS how did things progress to this point? who hires these incompetent workers? Works out well when needing urgent items such as plastic drop clothes for my vintage leakers or tonight with this deluge of rain saturating the foundation. So, I needed to purchase a new toilet. I checked Lowe's and Home Depot and decided on Home Depot. I found one I like on the website and it said it was $199.00 because of a special purchase. Normally $249.00. So I get it on a cart and head up to the cashier with a box of 10d nails for another project. The toilet rings up at $249. I said"no, it's on sale for $199 and showed them the web page. The cashier says "Oh, that's the web page. It's different than the store." What? I didn't argue with the cashier, because where is that going to get me. So I went to customer service. Customer service goes trying to tell me the same thing. I requested to speak to a manager. Customer service says "Let me see if I can match Lowe's price." I said "How about you see if you can match your own price!" as they continued on to check Lowe's web page. Finally a manager gives them the ok to give it to me for $199. Jo this took me over 20 minutes including waiting n the customer service line. I still requested to speak to a manager. After about 10 minutes "Maria", who is wearing an apron just like the cashiers, comes over and tells me the same thing and tries to tell me it is an online price and the website isn't connected to the Home Depot stores. I asked her to show me where it said it is an online price and she couldn't, so she is making that shit up while she is talking to me. I asked if the website isn't connected with the store, why does it say Santa Rosa store and give me the quantity they have on hand as well as the aisle and bay number where to find it? No, I'm pissed off now. Why do I have to spend 20 to 30 minutes trying to get their advertised price on a product? The website and store are obviously connected. It shows stock on hand and exactly where to find it. I think this qualifies as false advertising and I'll be following up with upper management or corporate and sharing my story with the public.
