When you go in, you'll see a few booths and seating along the window. There's things drawn on the walls that are so cool! Every person that I've ever encountered at the register is super nice. It's real simple, they take your order and you wait. The drinks are on your left, you just grab what you want. They have beer options too, but those are in the back, but you can go check them out to see which one you want to try. Parking is limited, but doable. You might have to drive around the block because there a lot of people living within walking distance, so if you go at the time where most everyone is off from work or school, it might be a bit of a challenge. On this visit, we ordered the garlic and mushroom slice and the pepperoni one. They were huge! We also tried a local IPA called Hardywood Great Return and it was good. They were playing easy rock from the 70s which is the best music for a rainy visit. Overall, Benny is a cool place to get affordable pizza that's opened until midnight except Saturdays and Sundays they close at 3 am. Stopped by after hanging out at Bingo Beer for a late night slice. I was glad they sell by the slice and had a lot of variety besides cheese or pepperoni. I got a slice of the Italian sliced sausage. While chatting with the guy making the pizza, I didn't notice how big these things were until I got back to the hotel and opened up the box. The pizza was super thin but super crispy. The crust was fire! Everything about this slice of pizza was perfect. If I didn't live in Nova, I would be here all the time. I liked it so much, I am bringing back a whole pie for my family when I head back home. I would seriously consider traveling back here just for a slice of this pizza. Thumbs up! I'm a fan. I appreciate the customer service Phil presented it was very high vibrational coming from low frequency at work. Ima vintage gal so i loved the interior with the old fashioned counter and the hanging designed doors. They also have paintings. The menu was right above the front counter .. We went with 2 slices of the Garlic Mushroom. I also added a Bold Rock Cider as they do carry some domestic beers. (I was geeked about that being an option) The pizza is great I personally prefer thin pizza over thick pizza because i'm lactose so with it not only being huge but thin I am won over. I attempted to eat while cold before reheating and it's slamming. I will return to dine in maybe and eat it while hot and attempt a 2nd slice. Went here last night after being out and about. I was told it would resonate with me as it is the closest slice in Richmond that tastes like a NY slice. To my disappointment I was given a slice that was barely baked. I took one bite and it tasted like undercooked dough. I asked if I can be put longer into the oven as it was undercooked and I was told that next time if there are any discrepancies I need to let them know before I bite into it (not sure how I would have known that without biting but I just said okay), they shouldn't be giving customers undercooked pizza lol they ended up giving me a new slice that spent a longer time in the over and they told me to let them know if there's any fees on my card (not 100% sure what that was supposed to mean or what) but once I got my new slice of pizza I can definitely say it tasted as close to a NY slice that I can get. This slice of pizza was HUGE!!! I LOVE a thin slice of pizza with a crispy bottom and a major cheese pull!! I had the sausage slice and my man had the garlic mushroom. I would not change a single thing about that sausage slice. The garlic mushroom was very fragrant but when I bit the pizza, I wanted more of a garlic taste. The pizza slices are huge but those wings were very mini. They were very crispy and had a wonderful flavor but too expensive for how little they were. They also had a Vanilla Coke and a RC soda and I was excited about that because I haven't seen those in years! The employees not once cracked a smile but they were still very nice and had a chill personality. They would have gotten 5 stars if it was based on the taste on the food alone but the place had quite a bit of cobwebs and that bathroom smelled like someone took the time to urinate in every corner. 1 million times over would we come to this place. This is the best pizza you're going to get anywhere in the Richmond area. They also have one in Norfolk, Virginia. We literally make it our mission to visit here when we are in town. I don't care if it's a 30 minute drive I don't care if it's two minute drive, we are coming to get this pizza. I'm giving Benny's 4 Stars mostly for the experience/ambience. Where else are you going to go for pizza's as big as the hood of your car? A slice alone is the size of a full pie at many restaurants! The scene is pretty slick. From the booth seats to the wall art, it's a solid joint for both friends having beers & pizza or families swapping out the brews for the cool selection of local & mainstream sodas. Lines may form at the genderless restrooms owing to the walls being plastered with a thousand classic Far Side comics... As far as sauce, cheese & toppings were going, Benny Ventana's are pretty good and distributed perfectly across the crust. The pepperoni & sausage slices were good. I gave the special Mexican slice a whirl as well. It fell short of awesome. There was a very generous (excessive) coating of little beef kibblets which rolled over the pickled jalapeños on their way off the slice and into my lap. It also had a swirl of nacho-style "queso", which congealed as it cooled, lending an odd texture and American cheese essence which threw off the taste of the pizza sauce & cheese beneath it The crust itself was unique to me, it had more in common with a bread that didn't rise than a chewy pizza crust. The bottom was crisp like a thin cracker with a little soft layer above - But it worked! It had a nice flavor and gave good structural support to the massive, banner-sized slices. But that under-proofed bread character took over at the edges leaving them unappealing. Then again, by the time you make it to the outer crust you're either out of toppings or are flat-out stuffed and eating that arc of bread wouldn't be a sensible option. Service: pizza was easy to order & came out hot & quickly. Staff was a mixed bag - one was a very friendly, helpful guy. There were two others who were as charming as empty root-beer mugs: no emotions whatsoever whether taking orders or delivering them. The dispassion was so impressive I'd bet they'd make incredible top-tier baristas. Lastly, In terms of return on investment... At six bucks a pop for slice big enough to hide behind, Benny Ventano's is a serious value. Two people could share a single triangle and feel satisfied. So dinner with the fellas tonight.....yup! They pick Benny's, I am a newbie to Benny's. Its a massive pizza, and we had to swap cars to get it back to the office today. A sedan did NOT work.... A mixed bag. If you are coming here or food or the novelty of the giant slices: JUST GET THE CHEESE PIZZA. They reheat room temperature pizza and add the topping on afterwards. This does not bode well for the temperature and taste of the food. Especially the barbecue chicken pizza where the tomato based sauce is still there on top of cheap barbecue sauce. This place has been on my bucket list for a while. I called the location to make sure they were open before stopping by because my boyfriend and I wanted a quick snack/lunch before our dinner reservations a few hours later. Sooooo my boyfriend and I and never had/heard of Benny's. And we didn't look at their menu or website because we figured it was a regular pizza place. So when we ordered two larges we expected regular 14-16" pies. NOPE, them pizzas were HUMONGOUS 28"! 1. My friends and I feel like the woman taking our order should have said "m'am just to make sure, you know our larges are 28" right?" 2. I realized after the fact that they didn't say the total when I placed the order. If I had heard over the phone that it would be $65, then I would have realized it wasn't a usual large. If this is supposed to be NY style pizza, they missed the mark. Sauce is probably the best part. Dough is slightly undercooked and soggy. No crunch and has almost no rigidity. Crust is fluffy though. Hands down, the biggest let down: they use a 5-cheese blend for their pizza. And you cannot get only a single cheese, like mozzarella, even if you ask. This makes the pizza taste like the cheese has gone bad or started to mold over and leaves a bad aftertaste in your mouth. We went back twice cause we legit thought we had a bad batch of cheese, but that's how they make their pizza :shrug - so more pizza from Bennys. We actually moved from Charlotte where they have a Benny's P. in noda, and this wasn't the case over there, so not sure what's going on with this Bennys V. read more

Any restaurant that serves a whole pizza so big it takes your ENTIRE CAR TRUNK to get it home is a five star establishment in my book.
