So disappointed in the food here. Got the eggs Benedict with hash browns. Eggs were poached well but the hollandaise tasted like it was from a jar and the muffins were so hard it was impossible to cut with a knife. The frozen hash browns were similarly super hard on the bottom but then were an odd mush in between crusts. I'm giving 2 stars only because the waitstaff was super friendly and the tea was great. A wonderful breakfast! The staff is very friendly. They remembered my son from his visit with friends a few days before. We got there a little after 8 am on Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. By 9:15 it was starting to get crowded. The food...OMW!!! Pancakes are so fluffy and light. The Oreo Pancakes are not overwhelming. My husband had a skillet and it was a lot of food. The only disappointment was the size of the Signature Cinnamon French Toast on The Triple Play. Pancakes are the way to go!! Coffee was really good too! Service was slow. Came in on a weekday around noon, very little customers but adequate amount of staff. However, that did not aide in the speed of service. Had to wait over 30mins for my food, only for it to be well under-seasoned and subpar. It took another 15mins before the check was given/card ran. Went for brunch this morning (11/14/21) and was told by the host that it was going to be about 15-20 min wait to be seated- no big deal. We waited about 15 before we were set. We sat down, ordered our drinks, and food as soon as she brought out drinks out- took maybe 5-10 minutes over all- not terrible and pretty typical. I got a coffee which had a very odd taste to it so just didn't drink it- again, no big deal- I had water.. But what is the big deal is that 3 other tables were sat at the exact same time as us, we ordered our food before them all yet they all had their food about 30 minutes before we did. We ended up sitting at the table for over an hour before we got our order and even at that, one of our meals was completely wrong and included avocado (which we stressed to the server that our son is allergic so don't put anywhere near). When the food was finally delivered to our table it was subpar at best. I mean- I guess the positive part is that by the time we got home, everyone had to poop.. so there's that! read more

Benny's Cafe is not my cup of tea. I'll stick with my regular breakfast spot where I know quality food and excellent service is a guarantee. My husband and I went at around 10am on a Saturday and although the place was busy, we were seated quickly. The place was charming, simply-decorated with a nice airy feeling (it didn't feel cramped). We thought it would be a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast. Nope! I like to take note on the people sitting around me and this will come into play later. The server took our drink and food orders and was very nice. I don't know if he as new or a little frazzled, but he tried his best and we appreciated that. Swept in our conversation, my husband and I realized we haven't received our food. It got to a point where I whispered that we should pay for the drinks and leave and then low and behold it arrived, a whole 30 minutes from the time that our order was placed. However, my husband received all of his food and I only received the sides of mine, waiting another 10 minutes for the very berry french toast to make its way to me. The wait time was absolutely ridiculous. The couple next to us was seated after we arrived and was given their meals 5 minutes after our order placement. The couple in front of me was seated at the same time as us, ordered when we did, and yet their food came out 20 minutes before ours. They had enough time to enjoy their breakfast (also the very berry french toast), pay, and leave before we even received a single item. This was starting to piss me off. 2 couples showed up with or after us, and both were fed WAY before we were. Other tables around us got their meals and yet, here I was munching on 1 scrambled egg (they messed up, I ordered 2) and a side of hashbrowns. Speaking of egg, my husband had a hair in his over-medium egg (gross), but the taste of the hairless chicken and waffles made up for it. By the time I finished my sides, my food arrived. How was it? Not inspiring. It was weak and overpriced. The menu will say it's $8.49 but they'll charge you $1.50 each for the blueberries and strawberries. Isn't that what makes it Very Berry? Nowhere on the menu was this upcharge listed. I don't like to make assumptions where there might not be any, but being the only black patron in the entire restaurant, I couldn't help but wonder if this was a sign. My husband ended up telling me in the car that a couple tables were pointing at us and making faces of disgust (we get that from time to time with people who don't care for interracial relationships), but we didn't think it would be like this. If it weren't for the waiter, I would give this place zero stars. Benny's Cafe, the atrocious wait for your food isn't worth it and if you're going to be filled with trashy, prejudice people who attempt to make me feel uncomfortable while enjoying the simple things in life, I'll take my fancy dollars elsewhere. read more

We eat breakfast here about once a week. I don't know if you can go wrong with any of the breakfast items, but if you can then I guess I haven't tried everything. We love the classic breakfast with hash browns and pancakes the most. It is a lot of food, but it is done so consistently well with perfectly crisp hash browns and sweet and fluffy pancakes. came here for brunch with my family and we were pleasantly surprised! this place is low key and delicious, the perfect place to come with a large group. everyone in my family really liked everything they got. i got the french toast with strawberries and blueberries and the benny skillet and both were fantastic. i would recommend the orange juice as well! the prices are very fair and i would definitely come back. i think this is my new go-to brunch spot! read more

We went to Benny's today after my grandson's graduation. What a HUGE disappointment! The food came out lukewarm which is awful when you have ordered biscuits and gravy. My biscuit was really hard - like it had been microwaved. My daughter's hash browns were so salty that she could not eat them. We will not be back. read more

Benny's Cafe is one of those places that you can go to every weekend and enjoy a great traditional breakfast for just the right price. My favorite is the ham and cheese omelette with toast. The staff is always really friendly and willing to recommend something yummy. I have never had a bad breakfast here. We placed a small to-go order to be picked up by Uber Eats. In our group we had a waffle and pancakes. Benny's neglected to provide us with syrup. When we contacted the restaurant they stated we could either come and get the syrup ourselves or send Uber Eats to pick up syrup for us. The syrup should have been included in our order, we should not have to come pick it up, and we should not have to pay someone to go pick it up. They did not offer to refund us or replace the now cold waffle or pancakes. Plus the waffle is small. First time I visited, I ordered a cheeseburger and fries to go. Cheeseburger was great, cooked properly with a nice slice of cheddar cheese. The second time I visited, I ordered two cheeseburgers and fries to go. One was burnt and one was raw. the buns on both were burnt till they were blackened on the tops, and the cheese was a few sprinkles of shredded cheese. If you're going to operate a restaurant, you need to learn how to cook. Maybe they were having an off day, but I'll never know, because I will never return. Got seated in the corner table right in front of cash registers. Took 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order. Another 15 minutes for our drinks to actually get to the table. By the time our food got to the table, two of the four items were wrong and it took another 10 minutes for our order to get corrected. A total of 40 minutes waiting for our food. Our check came and they tried charging us for the incorrect items and extra beverages. Poor service overall. Will not be coming here again. read more

We went early Sunday morning for breakfast and we were seated right away with no wait...nice! I ordered the skillet and my guest ordered the basic bacon and eggs plate. It took them quite a long time for them to cook and serve the food. When I finally got my skillet, I looked under my skillet, the potato hash was soggy. They did not brown or make the hash crispy at all. It seems like the Cook rushed and thrown the hash underneath the eggs. Also, the toast was hard as a rock. Someone needs to check the quality of food before serving to guests. Our issues were addressed with the waiter and he did offer for the Cook to make me a new batch. We just didn't have time to wait for a new plate to come out. I hope this was just the Cook having a bad morning. read more

Yesterday, Sunday Feb. 24th at around 10am I called in to see how much of a wait there was, we had a party of 14 people. First they told me it will be an hour, I said ok, is there a way of putting me down on the waiting list we are on our way an we will be there in like 10 min, lady on the phone said give me a min and put me on wait. Another lady picks up(someone with an accent) and tells me that for that amount of people I should've called the day before and that since I didn't do that I would not be guaranteed a table if I came in. I told her, So are you telling me we cannot eat at your restaurant? she said, well you should've called yesterday to reserve. I said thanks and have a good day and hanged up. Everybody on our party was so shocked by what we were told, specially because me and my husband talked this restaurant up telling them it was a great breakfast place, very disappointing. I can understand calling ahead a day before if you have it already planned, but in our case we all coincidentally met at church and in the spur of the moment we said lets go eat! The only reason I have put 2 stars is because I have eaten there before and service and food was great, that is why we wanted other people in our family to enjoy a good breakfast but that was not that case and most of the people in our party stated that they will never even go try it because of this bad experience. read more

Went there on a Monday morning after 9:30 and they were not busy. Cheerfully greeted. I have never been to a breakfast place where someone did not approach you immediately to ask if you wanted coffee. Never happened. Sat and waited watching servers deliver orders and walk around topping off coffee. Waited for over 5 minutes and came to the conclusion these folks were not observant of their dining room and customers. I have never walked out of a restaurant before and I am very understanding having been in the business for many years however it was not busy and the staff was not "pressed". When I left I told the person that seated me why I was leaving. No response. I don't know what their problem was and frankly don't care. To me, giving four or five star reviews means both food and service needs to be above average. At least on our first visit here, this was not the case. Came in with my daughter for the first time today. Had been wanting to try them since they opened up. Always a lot of cars in the lot and in over flow. Very bright, modern and clean inside. Ordered the garden omelette with hash browns and pancakes. She ordered the breakfast burrito and a side order of biscuits and gravy. My vegetables inside the omelette was crunchy raw (I am used to them being cooked) it felt as if I was eating actual raw vegetables. The hash browns were good besides the fact that I requested them well done. The pancakes were microwaved and hard. The burrito was lackluster but she liked it. To be fair she did omit a few ingredients. She expected it to be bigger based on what the waitresses (yes 2-3 chimed in. They were delightful!!! Truly)said. She was full though so it was good all in all. She also liked the biscuit and gravy. The service was great. Very attentive and the hostess was super nice and friendly. We came at a time that wasn't super busy. Clear and concise bill. Jane was our server and Lauren was our hostess. Service was a 5 but the food was a 3 at the most. My parents and went to Benny's this Christmas Eve morning for breakfast and were very impressed! Derek was our server and he was fantastic! He made sure we were taken care of and was easy going. The food was delicious and satisfying and there was something for everyone! They had more choices for healthier options than I've seen on a café menu, probably ever.
