It actually deserves less than ZERO! Got there around 9:45a. Some chit-chatting and laughing between employees right in front of me at the host stand for about 5 minutes. Then the bus boy (may be the owner) came over and asked about the party number. Sat at 9:55a for seven of us celebrating a family member's 60th birthday. Our drink orders were taken in a timely manner. Took less than 10 minutes for our drinks to come out. No issues, though the freshly squeezed orange juice tasted not freshly squeezed, and the server spilt orange juice in front of my grandfather. Our orders were taken at the same time. We specifically chose meals that would get us out by 11a, such as eggs and bacon. At around 10:30a, two fruit cup sides came out. At 10:40a (nearly an hour after arriving, two orders of pancakes came out. Followed by dry toast. Got up a few minutes later and spoke to another server about seven breakfast plates taking an hour and why partial plates were coming out. We requested fresh pancakes and having the food come out all together, and soon. We also requested one of the orders to become a to-go order, since that person (who received the dry toast), had to go to work (at a restaurant). She spoke with our server. 5 minutes later, the cold pancakes were picked up and our server replaced them with warm pancakes. Then that was it. No other food came out. We tried to be patient and understanding, especially since our family has been in the food industry for 25+ years. After even more time, the party of four behind us, who sat at least 15 minutes after us, received their food. That's what led us to getting up and leaving. As we were leaving, the servers and owners just stared at us. Blank eyes. No words. No interaction. No questions. It was a really disappointing experience coming at 10a on a Saturday with the restaurant 75% full (less than 15 tables). and leaving at 11:15a without food in our bellies. We went to First Watch about 10 minutes away. Food came out in less than 20 minutes and it was absolutely delicious. read more

I can't really give this location 5 stars for a few reasons. I ordered the torreon omelet which is supposed to come with chorizo and what I got was just a pinch of it which is very disappointing. My order also came with hash browns they were overcooked and were very crispy. The coffee is great and so was the toast. They just opened up 3 weeks ago so I'm not going to be absolutely brutal about it. Sunview Cafe 1, Benny's Cafe 0. I plan on returning in a couple of weeks and seeing if maybe they've ironed out the kinks. Pancakes were tougher than they needed to be. read more

I always make an effort to go here whenever I visit McKinney. It's always packed on weekends. I've always received great service and food. Food is always fresh. Their soup is AMAZING - unlike anything I've tasted before. I like their breakfast combination. Simple order of omelette comes w/ hash brown/soup and bread/pancakes. For anyone complaining about service, just ask for another server. As you might know service industry has a high turn over. It will take time and training to get service you are expecting. Just had breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. We've been regulars at Italian Garden for years, and we were not surprised they carried the quality over to breakfast but we're so glad they did! I had the signature French toast, my husband the meat lover's skillet. Everything was outstanding and the skillet was big enough to share! We split our meals together and are leaving full and satisfied. The flavors and quality are top notch, prices typical for this area, but the one thing that truly surprised us was the nitro cold brew! It was smooth and rich, and paired fantastically with the cinnamon and sweetness of the French toast. I highly recommend you grab a glass instead of your typical black coffee. read more

This was one of my favorite places to eat breakfast but no more. The service was terrible, the food soso and the grits were like soup! Four tables were seated after us and all had their food before us. The coffee was bitter and the waitress did not ask if we wanted water nor did she bring the syrup out with my pancake order. This hidden gem is not so 'hidden' any more. It's often full at peak breakfast and lunch times, but the staff moves everyone through at a good pace. The chicken and waffles are 'to die for' and we've had several other menu choices that were equally delicious. Service is courteous and quick. Cleanliness is A++. Coffee cup is never empty. finally made our way here on a saturday. the place was busy but the table rotation and service was quick so we were seated and served right away. it didn't matter that it was after 12 and it's lunch time we had to get their breakfast. they're open for brunch/lunch only so they serve breakfast until close. everything was so good! the meat lover omelette was delicious and their hash brown was good! best of all the pancakes were so fluffy and scrumptious! place is super cute and inviting and the staff is great. it was neat seeing familiar faces from Italian Garden (same owners) and it was sweet to be remembered also. cannot say enough good things about this place. definitely come here! read more

Well, this place we had been to a few times. And it was OK but not amazing, just your average breakfast/lunch restaurant. Today(6/30/2019) my fiancé and I waited 41 minutes and we still did not place our order. Our waitress had walked by us multiple times and not once even said "l'll be with y'all in a moment". I finally waved her down and just asked for the check from ordering our tea and water. Unfortunately we had this experience and will not be returning. A wonderful new Cafe opens on May 14th, we were lucky to attend their soft opening today. Beautiful farm rustic charm, open for breakfast and Lunch only. We had some amazing omelets with hashbrowns and toast. Huge servings, we didn't have the waffles but they looked and smelled fantastic. Its a family owned restaurant. This is bound to be a hot spot in McKinney once the word gets out! The service can't get any better they make everyone feel like family. read more

Went for lunch last week with a friend. We both ordered the same thing and thought the same thing. The grilled cheese with ham was very tasty. They didn't scrimp on the meat and the bread was perfectly cooked. The onion rings were basic but hit the spot. The side greek salad barely had the ingredients to call it that, and was a very small portion. The decor seemed very similar to other breakfast places around town too...Nothing unique to really distinguish it or make me want to come back. If I'm on that side of town, not sure I'd even think of it, and definitely wouldn't go out of my way for a second visit. read more

We have ordered from here before COVID a few times and it was good even when ordering with delivery through uber eats. They used to pay attention to special requests and rarely made mistakes on our order however, the past 3 times we've ordered from them we have been extremely disappointed. I ordered their Pico Avocado Toast as opposed to the regular avocado toast for an extra $3 for the extra toppings and not only did it NOT come with the extra toppings (olive oil, lemon, and pico de gallo) but the bread wasn't even toasted, the eggs were not the style I requested, and the avocado was partly black. How pathetic if I have to take my meal apart and toast my bread at home and cook my own eggs from my fridge when I wanted a nice brunch delivered. I'm not sure if they lost their chef during COVID and now have a 16 year old stoner kid cooking people's food or what is going on but it's a joke. The chef doesn't pay attention to special requests the last 3 times we've ordered from here and food just looks like it is thrown together so carelessly and not cooked properly (Fries half cooked, bread not toasted, bacon not crispy,etc.) The cappuccino was also $5 and the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. It tasted like mildew and dirty dish water. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because before COVID they were fine but we will likely never be ordering here again and I would not recommend them to anyone. My advice for them is to start putting a little more effort to their uber eats orders or they are going to lose so many customers trying to help them out during COVID. We also live within 2 miles so there is no excuse for the food arriving to us in such bad shape. read more

I've been here twice and both times were exceptional! The service is fast and very attentive. The food is delicious! My husband and I each had the cinnamon French toast and shared the biscuits and gravy! Yummmm! The next time I went I had the chicken Cesar wrap and fries. Again, so delicious and fresh. First time here. Friendly greeting by the host. Karla waited on me and was very attentive. Coffee arrived immediately and was very good. I ordered the corned-beef hash with over-easy eggs, crispy hash browns and sourdough toast. It took a little longer than I expected for the food to arrive but when it did, it was very good. I did ask for more butter for the toast. When it was brought to me it was semi-melted and gritty. I didn't use it or mention it to my waitress.
