Brian and Ray came out and put new vinyl sheeting down and JUST WOW!!!! It was 7 1/2 days of work for these poor guys because they had to tear up old nasty carpeted floors, put new sub floor down, level floors because they were just so uneven(as much as an inch and a half) but they did an AMAZING JOB. From the start of the project with Jamie who came out and measured, met us at the company and showed us the flooring, and to the end product with Ray and Brian who are very nice, professional, and easy going, it was just a great experience. I also want to thank Athena who I talked with at the company and on the phone. She is very sweet and helpful as well. The guys put trim down around our fireplace hearth tiles and where the foyer meets the dining room. Their customer service people are great but anyone actually responsible in the company is insanely hard to reach by phone. They rarely reply to messages left and they purposely postpone appointments to push through warranty time limits. They are criminal in their pricing and should be removed from the Better Business Bureau! Do not get drawn in by their charming sales reps. It's all show and no substance! I have been fighting for almost two years to get the $4,000 floor I purchased right! It's infuriating. I am disabled and am at risk for falls.

They went above and beyond to track it down from a supplier in the U.S., got it shipped quickly, and kept me informed every step of the way. When the supplier made a mistake, McCool's immediately stepped in to fix it, even though it wasn't their mistake to begin with. You'd think that having flooring installed would be a one-and-done type of thing, but we've had to go back and forth with McCool's for the past 2 years. It's been exhausting. The first time, we had issue with our floor planks separating just a couple of months after it was installed. We called them right away when we noticed the boards coming apart, and they ghosted us. Emails, phone calls, voice mails -- we could not get anyone to respond to us or acknowledge the issue. Finally, after calling their corporate office, we got someone to respond. We had to be persistent and forceful to get them to even respond to us, which is absurd. They said they'd send a contractor out to inspect. It was determined that the flooring was defective. OK ... so you sold us defective product? By this point we're livid but also tired of seeing our crappy, brand new floors that are coming apart, so we just wanted it fixed. The entire flooring had to be ripped up and replaced. Cut to several months later. Our second set of floors have been in about four months, and we noticed that there is an area of the floor that bows when you step on it. What in the ever living hell? How is it that we're finding more problems with this floor? So we had to contact McCool's yet again. Again, we had to play their game where they didn't respond for a long time until we started to involve corporate. A couple weeks later, they send someone out to fix the bowing. It turns out the contractor that McCool's originally sent to install our second set of floors did not do something they were supposed to do to reinforce the floor. It's been a few months since this second (and hopefully final?) incident with our floors. I'm hoping that we never have to deal with McCool's ever again. I get that mistakes happen during flooring projects -- that's not my primary issue with McCool's. It's the fact that, after we discovered the mistakes in our flooring, McCool's would not return our calls and voice mails to try to make the situation right without us having to go up the ladder and involve corporate, or without us having to leave multiple messages and follow up with them continually. That's incredibly bad customer service, and it's incredibly frustrating.

I had Rodney repair and patch my carpet for a rental I was moving out of on April 27th. I couldn't…read morebe there because I ended up double booked at my new house too. He said it was not a problem since we'd discussed the areas to repair and the cleaning needed. Because I wasn't there, he missed one of the repair spots that I'd originally contacted him about in 2023 when my dog first did it soon after I moved in. Back story is he said "I'd recommend you wait until you move out because you'll likely have more areas by the time you move out and I can do multiple areas for just a little more cost." Wow! I thought what a nice honest guy! Back to him missing the original spot, I contacted him to say he missed a spot. He said that he didn't know about that repair. I showed him the text from March 17 2026 at 12:37pm. He said I don't have a text from 2023 wouldn't help and wasn't sent from the same number (It was but we'd also discussed it in March 2026 and that's the text I sent him - not the one from 2023. He said I can come back out but you have to pay me another $100 for my time. He also commented that he lives all the way up in Noblesville which is an hour drive, which isn't relevant since he agreed to do the service. I said "I really can't pay more than the $480 I already paid for the carpet repair and cleaning." He said "I can't help you." and stopped responding even after I said I guess I have to pay you because this has to be done in a few days. No response! I had to work to find someone within a few days. I hired The Carpet Man and they took care of me. After it all I realized that the carpet wasn't cleaned well because I noticed two spots that he clearly didn't work to remove. We hadn't even seen these spots prior to the cleaning! The essential oils also smelled weird over time. At first they were nice but as it dried it smelled kind of weird. I wish I'd called Stanley Steemer for the cost and overall service but needed both cleaning and repairs, which they don't do. Moral of the story - get a scope of work/estimate on the company letterhead in a pdf via email ahead of time. I trusted the text convo and got burned! However, courts accepts text conversations as evidence. So there's that.

The install team was very professional, and removed packing material as well as the balance of the prepaid order, leaving the project only about 1/3 complete. As Rite Rug offered no remedy, the first immediate course of action is a BBB complaint. Further action may be required to recover our losses.

They rescheduled for another day, arrived late without a phone call and then didn't bring out an appropriate amount of product to complete the job. Called their company to ask them to propose some compensation for our inconvenience and expense. Was told that it wasn't their policy. So, basically, we're on attempt #3 to get the installation completed and all they can say is "sorry!"
