Everything on the menu is pretty much a 10/10 besides the barbecue chicken pizza. What a disappointment. If Im correct they cook the barbecue sauce into the pizza instead of applying it after its cooked which makes it taste like . Also it seems like a bunch of high on kids run this place. The first and second time I let it slide but on the third I made them return with my marinara cheese dipping sauce for my dippin sticks. Noone orders the cheese sticks without the sauce. We got subs last night from here. They were so pathetic. My husband got a ham and cheese, it literally had one NO lie one piece of ham! One of my neighbors who is a foodie mentioned that they thought Bennys was the best pizza in Livonia. My husband and I have driven by it a lot and decided to stop in one night. Walking in, there is a side for carry outs and one for dine in. We were planning on dining in and were seated right away. We ordered pizza and salad and were quite pleased with our food. Did this place change owners, worst pizza I've ever got from them. The dough wasn't even, from crust in for 3 inches really thick. From there in very very thin, which the majority of the meat was in. There was very little pepperoni from crust to 3 inches. Should have taken picture, before I threw 3/4 quarters of it away. Maybe they don't have good cooks on Sundays, I'll never find out. read more

The only thing good here and that isn't even consistent is the pizza. The rest of the food is really awful. Their meatballs have a strong freezer burnt taste to them and I had that the last two times I tried them. Ordered pasta today and it came out in one big clump, all broken and falling apart. It was way over cooked. The salad is consistently terrible just ice berg tasteless lettuce. Had a side salad with a half eaten peppercini and a very small piece of unripened tomato. I have had wings here and they are awful, the lasagna I had once and you would have never known it was lasagna it was a clumpy mess. Sad to say this place is no where near where it once was. I used to go there a lot. But then I met the owner...WOW!! what an absolute jerk. He especially pissed me off when, even after I told him how much business I brought him, said he'd kick me, and anybody I had with me, out when it was time for trivia on Thursday. Really - he was afraid we might deprive a regular trivia participant of a seat. I even asked "what if we play trivia?" ... nope! I guess you have to be a "regular" trivia player. No appreciation at all shown to someone who had supported him for years, spent a lot of money, and brought lots of customers to him. It's not exactly a bargain either. The food isn't cheap. If you want one of the best pizza for an amazing price. You have to go to Bennys. I went there with my family. From the outside you wouldnt think this place is gonna be great. The decor inside will reaffirm that. It needs some updating. But then you order the food. That's when you know why they have been in business for 41 years. We got 2 large pizzas for under $20. One round and one square. I'm a firm believer you judge a place by the easiest items( if they can't get that right is a big waste of time and money). So we got peperoni on one, and peperoni and bacon on the other. They were very busy. And when they brought the pizzas I found out why. First t the pizza was cooked perfect. The crust was not to g thin but not a thick bread type. Plenty of cheese and the sauce was flavorful. Great spice. Perfect amount of toppings. The bacon was crisp not burned. The deep dish was cooked perfect. They do them sicilian style with the sauce on top. But it's not overwhelming on both pizzas. We also had a side of the cheese bread that was good also. It can with the house made marinara and plenty of it. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. She also told us that's is cheaper to do the 2 for 1. ( which is rare cause most wait staff want a bigger bill for a bigger tip.). Then she took an extra $5 of cause the bill was more than $20. (With sodas and side salads and the bread it was $28.57). And well worth it. So overall I give Bennys pizza 4 stars. Only cause the decor really needs to be updated badly. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this little Diamond in the rough. You may want to drive pay this place cachet of the Los, but I promise you this... Don't judge this book by its cover. read more

I admit I've been guilty over the years of being lazy with pizza and going to the chain type places, but this is a hidden gem. Went to dinner tonight 7/9/2016 had a friend here from out of town told her food was great! Ok something must have happened since I had been there last are you ready to hear this we had 8 people total we started ordering at 5:30 pm 2 people ordered salads 1 ordered cheese bread 3 ordered subs 1 potato skins and 1 pizza guess how long it took for all of us to get our food! 1 hour and 15 min!!!! This is nuts 1 person sent their sub back it looked like dog food on a roll(steak) bread sticks were not something to order again(I can get better at jets) ham and cheese subs were sub standard.We had gatherings there before but I know I won't be back $10.00 for lousy bread sticks and a soda is a bit much. This is the second time that they have made a mess of my order. I went to the carry out window instead of using the phone, just to be sure that they actually got the order correct. Two large pizzas, one topping each and two orders of dipin sticks with cheese. Told me 20-25 minutes. No problem. It took 45 minutes, but I didn't say a peep. I watched them pull the pizzas out...all good. But, no bread. When I say to the manager "You've got to be kidding me," his smart ass comment is "Yep. We're kidding." Instead of apologizing and seeing what he can do to fix the issue, he has jokes. The last time I was in, they burnt both pizzas, put them in the box and tried to give them to me. I always check to make sure I have to correct order, so I caught their shadiness that time. When I asked how the hell they were hanging out burnt pizza, the guy said "We are busy." I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another shot, but after the manager was a complete asshole this time, I am done. I have been a customer since 92, but will never, ever be back. This used to be my favorite pizza place in town. I don't know what the young boy answering the phone this evening ( Tuesday, August 3) thinks customer service is, but apparently he doesn't believe he works in a customer service industry. When he asked for my address he said that they don't deliver that far, mind you they have delivered here multiple times before, and I live less than 10 minutes from the location. He says sorry for the mistake, and mumbles something, then asks what I want. After I place my order he seemed to be guessing hoe long was too long for me to wait for my pizza, and says "it'll be, uh, uh, 45 to, uh, 50 minutes". My first thought is this boy is also the one who delivers and he didn't feel like delivering today. I'm sorry to say this has tainted my opinion of Benny's, which is sad because it was my favorite pizza place that would deliver, but I'll just get Hungry Howie's from now.
