This place used to be great and our go to for the past 30 years when Louie owned it...the last few carryouts the food was not good, couldn't figure out what was wrong. Figured it out when we went there tonight and the prices on the menu are different than what they charge you . When I questioned the server, some snarky bitch with long hair named Vicky came over just looking for a fight. Came up very aggressive, telling us she is the owner and what's the problem? We never asked to speak to a manager, I was fine with the discrepancy. I just would've took a dollar off the tip. I said they should honor the menu prices that's Michigan law and she said not if it's posted somewhere which it was not, so she ran and hand wrote this janky note on a little piece of paper and taped it over the drink specials on the board in the foyer and then came back and snarkily told us it was posted, Omg... talk about insane I told her it was not there when we came in because we read the specials board. She tried to argue with me. It was laughable. She was absolutely clueless about etiquette and customer service. If she is the owner which she claims she is, she really needs to take a class on how to treat a customer or everyone will be one and done like we are.To save a buck, she lost thousands. 30 years of spending money in this place and we will never ever step foot or order carry out again and neither will anyone I know for that matter. I had a lunch date with a friend and it was my first time there. It looks like a whole in the wall but it's a great spot for pizza.! Unfortunately, this place has gone so downhill that it's in hell. Doughy and undercooked Pizza was served only partially cut. When we asked for the waitress to ask the Cook to cut the pizza all the way through she argued with us. After the pizza had been cut again, she left it on the counter for us to wait while she took care of another fresh table. I retrieved our pizza myself as it was right there in the window. She approached my table and called me "rude". She went on talking to regular customers in a loud tone where we could hear her as she insulted us. The pizza itself was terrible! Two words sum this place up. Old School. In a good way. Well maintained but it looks like you stepped back into the 50s. Great respectful crowd of middle aged and older folks contribute to the scene. Menu has a good variety of what you would expect including pizza pasta salads wings etc. Service was a 5. Food quality was probably the shortcoming. The meatballs in my spaghetti were dry and tasteless. My bourbon was short poured but the price reflected it so next time I'll order a double. Problem solved. My 2 companions ordered pizza and seemed to think it was pretty average although unlike me it was not their first time and visit frequently. I'll be back and hope the food is better. This is still a hidden gem in a world of chain restaurants with slow service and obnoxious patrons. read more

Let me tell you. I called them out on their menu pricing. I ordered a 10" BLT pizza and the website said $13. Get there and pay (multiple items on the bill that I ordered - all above menu price) and that BLT pizza was magically $17!!! I called and confronted them about it and they could care less. Only ever had carried out pizza here, but last night we felt like going out. You walk in to a carry out order booth but if you walk through the swinging door there's a magical hometown bar that appears. We sat at a booth and really enjoyed a pitcher of beer. I ordered an antipasto salad that was quite tasty and those dipping sticks might be the best I've ever had. The flavor is just incredible. It also comes with a large marinara tub to dip in. We ordered a deluxe pizza, add banana peppers minus the olives and it was tasty. I will say the crust was just so, so but everyone likes their pizza different. Benny's used to have the best small square special and that was in the 70s and early 80s then I moved away and when I started going back there about four years ago and ordered a square pizza it was completely different. The crust is completely different and nowhere near as good. If it's not broke, please don't fix it. Recently we picked up cheese, bacon and onion pizza. No bacon on it. He took a dollar or two off and or offered to make me a new one but I didn't feel like waiting another 25 minutes, so we kept that one, but I always check your order before you leave. read more

Driving around trying to find a place to eat on Sweetest day with no crowd, passed this place that has been there for years! Tucked back in a strip mall away from the main rd, ya have to really look to see it. I have Never been in there but hey no crowd, heck only a few people in the parking lot! I thought to myself, should I be scared of what lies ahead? So my friends get out of their cars and we all start laughing about how the food is probably gross and no wonder people aren't in there! Its singles night what the heck! So we went in and the first thing we noticed was the old out of date decor. Okay this place needs an update bad. But surprisingly there were a bunch of guys watching a sports game, drinking beer and eating munchies. So we sat down and had to move a couple tables together with unmatching chairs. The waitress took our order and we decided to get a few pizzas, ya cant go wrong there. The waitress was friendly and quick. We ordered 3 pizzas and they came with breadsticks. The pizza came out hot, cheesy and with the crunchy crust I like. The breadsticks were hot buttered and soft. Very good. Im glad we decided to give this place a try. I've also had their bread, antipasto salad and the wings..all were delicious. I have never had to wait long for my food but I do see a review where someone had to wait (5minutes) I understand waiting can be frustrating but we are in a global pandemic, maybe cut them some slack and give them another try! My fiancé and I just moved down the street from Benny's and I had two different people tell me I needed to try it. They deliver, which is a plus because some nights I do NOT feel like going back out. I didn't have any issues getting through on the phone, as some previous reviews mentioned. I checked the website first to read the whole menu, but knew we had to try the pizza. I just wanted to see the other options. I ordered a large square pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, & green peppers. I ended up receiving a round pizza instead. I didn't call back to complain because I like round pizza too and would've wanted to try it eventually anyway, but they do get knocked a star for getting my order wrong. The dough is really good and the crust is just crunchy enough while still being soft. I thought the toppings were just okay, not the best, but good enough. We also ordered the cheese dipping sticks. They're basically bread sticks with a slice of cheese melted on top. The bread sticks were really good, but I wouldn't bother getting them with cheese again. It says on the menu that the dipping sauce is their house made sauce with cheese mixed in, our dipping sauce did not have cheese mixed in, so that was disappointing. I also ordered a side of ranch thinking if they have their own special pizza sauce they probably have pretty good ranch too, it was not good. At least not the kind I like (think Jet's). This place was good, but not outstanding. We will get it again, but mostly because it's close and I'll want to try the square pizza too. read more

Bennys has been a tradition in my family for decades. My mother worked here in high school and I moved in right down the street a few years back. Nothing beats walking up there on a summer night with some friends, splitting a pie, knocking back a few beers and walking home in a slightly less straight line.
