This place was a lot of fun! There are not many places that can make a medium rare cheeseburger with the cheese melted upon serving, but they killed it, not once, not twice but 4 times!! (4 patties) Their limited menu seems to give more effort toward the quality and taste of their items offered. I don't believe you can go wrong with anything you order. Their food is very tasty, including the queso dip and whatever seasoning they used on their burgers. Our server Layla was very prompt, helpful and had great suggestions! The ambiance of this place is like a fun Irish drinking pub, it's not intimate, but it's not a giant lallapalooza either. The noise level is average and everyone was enjoying their time. This is a great place for good food and a fun time. They had some shot specials due to St Patrick's day coming, so we tried the "Shamrock shakes" which were very good! We have been going here for the last few years and it's generally a decent place. Tonight we had a terrible experience that changed my mind of ever coming back here. I completely appreciate that things get screwed up in the kitchen or service can be slow- it's how the restaurant responds that matters most to me. My dad, husband, brother in law, and sister all got burgers that were rare or medium rare. My dads and brother in laws were well done. My brother in laws literally was black. My husbands and sisters were overcooked but tolerable. My dad and brother in law sent theirs back to get them rare and it took over 25 minutes before mu dad just said he wanted his order cancelled. My dad was told that they were busy and that's why his burger took so long to get recooked- but the restaurant was half full. When one of the servers heard that my dad didn't want the burger anymore he told him "that's fine, I'll eat it." My brother in law got his to go and it was still burnt. They also told him that they wouldn't give him fries with his to go order because he already ate his fries. Not a big deal, but at this point why be a jerk and point it out? I had to ask our waiter for ranch 3 times before I finally asked another person for some. My son's pizza was also burnt. Super super disappointing. read more

Great place to get a bite to eat and grab a drink. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dont expect much from the decor its a local pub. Food was excellent. Their bourbon boneless wings are great they not your usual fried but grilled instead. Calamari had a nice creamy sauce and capers. Good selection of draft beers. Prices are very reasonable. Such a great hometown bar! My husband and I love going to Hermann's especially on a beautiful summer day. The patio is great and dog friendly too. Everyone is so friendly at Hermann's! We came here for Monday night trivia. We got here more than an hour before trivia started and it was packed we waited more than an hour for seating for seven of us. We got seats 2 mins before trivia started. The host was a bit grumpy idk if it was because it was so busy and he couldn't handle it with the holidays crowds. But the surest of the staff was very out going and friendly. The trivia night was very loud and they do have trivia all the time but on Monday's they have a host for trivia night separate from the online one in house. It was very entertaining. We had the wings in bourbon sauce which were amazing. Also a chicken quesadilla and the spicy kaboom shrimp wrap. The wrap was full of flavor the shrimp were crispy, the slaw was fresh and the whole wrap was wonderful. I was busy playing trivia to take pictures of the food. We kept thinking about the wrap and wings for days so on Friday we ordered them again as take out but had the sauce on the side so the wings wouldn't get soggy. As take out they were just as good and they were still crispy and having the sauce on the side I highly recommend. The wrap was just as good as if you ate it there. So flavorful and crispy. I highly, highly recommend and will be back many times. read more

You can't go wrong with a meal from Hermann's! Their pizza is excellent, my husband is OBSESSED with their chorizo tacos, and I have a fondness for their grilled cheese (hello fun cheeses on raisin bread!). They also have a decent Gluten Free menu for those in need. The bouncers are always friendly but the rest of the staff is hit or miss. However, their food and location make up for it. It's a bummer they are closed on Sunday's- it's prime sports day and they are a sports bar. Pro tip: get takeout and bring it next door to The Bearded Lamb for some killer beer, ciders, seltzers and incredible staff! read more

This place is an absolute gem. It's a corner neighborhood bar in Plymouth's Old Village neighborhood. Cool interior, they have some pool tables also, but most importantly they have above average food here. It's not the typical corner neighborhood bar fare you might be expecting. Definitely try: Chicken Quesadilla Texas Burger Mushroom Burger with zip sauce Tater tots Plus they have Trivia on Thursday nights from 9pm-11pm. It's free, it's awesome, the host Jimmy is hilarious. It was wonderful just needed more romaine as usual to balance the toppings. Fried Pickle spears were good but salty, as pickles usually are. I always enjoy going here. It has a nice atmosphere, although it can be a bit loud depending upon the time of day. They have a good menu with something for just about everyone. I tend to gravitate towards their burgers which are outstanding. The servers are also good and attentive. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, so get there early. Always a fun place. Can get crowded early especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Nice patio on the street side but gets too sunny and hot in the summer. I love the old features inside. The exposed brick and old wood floors. You can see the age of this building peeking through. The casual friendly feeling you get when you walk in is like walking into a neighborhood bar/grille. The waitress came over pretty quickly after we sat down. Then the food came very shortly after. Y'know, I've been coming here occasionally for years and never thought to review! The weather was fantastic today so my boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch on the patio. The wraps were great, the side veggies had a bit of flavor and didn't feel like an afterthought like most places that just steam vegetables with no seasoning as a side. Fries were also great! First time in a while getting food from Hermanns. I have eaten inside before but never carry out. The positives: Online ordering, set your pick up time and no need to get out of your car just pull in the alley and tell them your there. The packaging was nice with the chicken in a separate box vs the salad and the queso in a separate container from the nachos. The cons: The food wasn't as good as I remembered and we all were just so so on the meal. Could have just been a off night for all of us or them. We will try it again but might try different items. Not sure why all the salads come with a protein vs being able to add what you want. For example a salad that comes with shrimp doesn't interest me but if I could have the plain salad and add chicken or steak I would order it. read more

This place is FUN and always a great place to come with friends! I rate their burgers as one of the best in Metro Detroit (if not the best.) I ordered the OTG with Pepper Jack cheese and subbed grilled onions for the raw onions. With mayo, always have to have mayo. The burgers are juicy with a fresh flavor. I have never had a bad burger here. I usually get fries but this time opted for their homemade chips which are crispy and flavorful. Rounding out the meal was a Wheat IPA (cant remember the name) and it was the perfect accompaniment. You cant go wrong with Hermanns, ever! read more

This restaurant is an a in in eclectic part of old town Plymouth. The service has been excellent and the food is very very good. I have had the chicken quesadillas and they have great chicken, shredded, real chicken in them!! There is also a wonderful gooey real cheese. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich first time and another time he had a Maurice sandwich. He loved it both times. We took our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter the during art fair weekend. We had a great lunch and we had a nice place to cool off. It's clean and expensive and the food is great along with the service. We came in for lunch and sat at a hightop in the bar. One of the bartenders came out to take our drink order, but we needed some time to look over the beer list. She said she would check back with us shortly. We decided on the beers we wanted and waited for the bartender to return. After a few minutes, we figured out what we wanted to eat. We watched the bartender mix drinks, wash glasses, and chat with customers at the bar -- but she never came out from behind the bar again. After ten minutes, we were able to get the attention of a server and explained our situation. She apologized profusely and introduced herself as Bethany and promised to take get our order in right away. She did. We got our beers quickly and food arrived shortly afterwards. Bethany checked back and made sure we were happy with our orders. What started as a disaster was turned around by a very friendly and diligent server. Since moving to the area in February, Hermann's is possibly the place we have frequented the most. My love for this place started before we ever moved and we saw the large moose painting on the side of the building. I should have know this would become a staple for us. Plenty of TVs both around the whole place. Bar area is always seat yourself while the rest of the area will have someone seating you. They have a nice selection of beers on tap at all times. I always start with Founders Reds Rye. Always. Majority of their taps, cans, and bottles are Michigan native. Here's a run down of our favorite menu items: Pub Pickles Fire Sticks Smothered Tater Tots Chicken Quesadilla Nachos Eventually we will venture to other foods but I can't stay away from the fried pickles. They are spears if that makes a difference for you. The only downside- their sports selection is just your usual cable, nothing we can't watch at home. I would LOVE to be here on an NFL Sunday with every game on around the place. But I won't knock them for that. read more

Hermann's is a solid small town bar with good drinks and good food. We had pizza, which was very good standard bar pizza, drinks, and an appetizer of pretzel sticks. The portions were large which was great. There was a moderate assortment of drink options on tap and bottled. If you're into things like trivia, they have that, too. The really nice thing about Hermann's is it's in Old Town Plymouth so parking is so much easier to handle. There's ample street parking in comparison to downtown Plymouth. Stopped in a couple weeks ago after doing some business in Oldtown. Very busy but we were seated pretty quickly inside. Alexis was our server and she was great. It was apparent she was very busy but she seemed to be taking care of all her customers and she did not forget about us. We started with the soft pretzel sticks and these things were fantastic. A little crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside, and nice and hot. We got the queso for dipping but you can also get honey mustard. I got the Traverse City Cherry salad with chicken cause it sounded good and it was. Just felt like eating greens for dinner. I also got the chicken tortilla soup and it was better than most. My wife got the Chicken Cali wrap and she had nothing but good things to say about it. Hermanns is in a quiet part of town, has good food, great service, lots of beer choices, and could easily become your neighborhood drinking hole. A go to place in my book. read more
