Great food and great service. Love the spicy ramen and dumplings. The miso soup is hot and goes well as a side. Affordable and comforting

They make a yummy meaty soup dumplings and delicious shrimp shumai that call to you and bring you back to Lily's again and again. They have wonderful sashimi and sushi choices as well. I also enjoy their ceviche which is almost a sampler of all their fish options combined in a delectable light dressing that will leave you satisfied. With respect to entrees, the Dan Dan noodles are peanut buttery and sublime. They make a divine Thai Massaman Curry that is warm and fragrant with cinnamon and spices over your choice of duck, chicken, or other options. After any number of pleasing main dishes, Lily's tops the meal off with a creamy Ying Yang swirl presented pudding dessert that was just the touch you didn't realize you needed!!! Coupled with a cup of hot Jasmine Tea, you just sit back basking in the happiness of an excellent dinner appreciating life just a little bit more ..

Lilys is still BYO, which is great! From what I saw, there wasn't even an uncorking fee! The edamame was delicious, the rolls are always great, and this time I tried the seafood pad thai. It was a good portion with lots of things to add, but the flavor was very off for me! A big menu to try so I will definitely be back but staying away from that pad Thai!

It's a bit farther than I normally…read moredrive for dinner, but lately I've found myself going more often--because I just feel good every time I'm there. The first time I went there was in 2009 on the recommendation of a friend who used to have a Japanese restaurant. With job changes, going back to school, and plunging headfirst into a turbulent new career with multiple job changes, I never got back there until 2022. And guess what? They remembered me! The staff is genuinely friendly. They remember what I like, and a few times I've described dishes that weren't on the menu--and they made them perfectly. They actually listen, and that level of care is rare. The wine and beer selection fits my tastes really well, which is a nice bonus. Every time I visit, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. I often see other customers come in and get greeted like old friends, and it's clear this place means something to a lot of people. It's not just a meal--it's a place that lifts your mood. Okura has become one of my favorite spots. Friendly people, great food, and a warm, welcoming vibe every time.

"Gyoza" that were fried wontons with nothing inside them. A thin, rice noodle dish that was noodles boiled in water, unspiced, with fragments of veggies, and tiny tasteless boiled shrimp. There were others similarly taseless dishes. All, however, had been cooked with excessive cheap oil, that left nasty puddles in the bottom of the takeout containers. For some reason, Hockessin seems to attract purveyors of the absolute worst in Asian cuisine.

The food gives you that fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. The staff is warm and friendly -- shout out to Chet for his amazing service. They were also very accommodating to our son who was in between napping when we began dining, setting up a high chair for us in a way that would allow him to continue sleeping in his car seat. We started the meal off with some seared scallops that were perfectly arranged. Next, my wife had some seared tuna while I ordered the Colorado bison -- both items off of the special seasonal menu. The dishes were incredibly flavorful and the veggies that surrounded the meat added a nice complement. I also really enjoyed my California cab, as did my wife with her house Manhattan. We will definitely be back next time we are in Delaware, and highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hockessin area!

(Server rectified) The pasta carbonara was prepared using guanciale instead of bacon or pancetta. I found it too rich and almost over cooked. The duck wings appetizer my friend had were excellent. The fresh fish entree was delicious. The cheesecake dessert was a thing of beauty. I would probably try again, but it's a half an hour away. (We passed way too many other restaurants to try)

We sat for dinner tonight and had Craig as our server. It was not crazy busy on a Tuesday night. We always love the quality of food. My husband had the filet mignon and I had the seafood ravioli. Both were amazing. We spilt the chopped salad and could not believe they charged $1.00 for splitting the $14 salad between the two of us. Really? After a $70 steak, you charge a splitting fee? The principle does not sit well with us. The service, unfortunately, was not what I expect. He did get tables all at once, which I understand, but we felt like our table of 'only' two was a burden. I really do not like leaving a restaurant feeling like that. All in all, the food is always amazing from a taste perspective. The bar experience for a couple cocktails is also always great. They really need to work on the service aspect in the restaurant. Customers should never feel like a burden. We do love the ambiance in general and the quality of food has not disappointed.
