Agnolotti---pasta stuffed with creamy sweet corn with pickled peaches

Had the pleasure of having dinner at 1906 while we visited the gardens and the fountain show. Of course, both the gardens and the show were fantastic---the bonsai garden was most impressive and the info provided for each display was great. While we didn't bring any kids......kids would love the section of the garden just for them! As for dinner.....it was superb. Highly advise making reservation in advance although they are not required. Every seat has a beautiful view of the fountains. There is a fairly large bar area with food service so if you prefer not to make reservations there is plenty of seating for those that just drop in. Very nice "garden" theme throughout the restaurant---almost makes you feel like you are still out in the gardens. Service was great as there were multiple individuals beyond our server making sure we taken care of. Given this was our first dinner here we tried a little of everything and it is worth noting that where possible everything is locally sourced or better yet---from their own gardens. Started with sampling their tomato terrine and if you like juicy tomatoes and sourdough you have to try this! Our dinners focused on a fish dish and a pasta dish with many ingredients from their garden. The ocean trout was cooked to a velvety perfection and served with a mix of garden veggies. The agnolotti pasta dish was a stuffed pasta with sweet corn and it offered both a creamy and crunchy finish....you could smell the sweetness in the corn. Both were great! To finish off dinner we shared one of their signature desserts, the Caramelia---if you like chocolate mousse just order it. You will not be disappointed! Overall, a great fine dinning experience. Everything priced about what you would expect for a fine dinning experience.

Our first experience at 1906 at Longwood Gardens. Wow! Just WOW! The ambiance is so lovely with dim lighting and beautiful plants and live flowers all around the restaurant from the gardens. The warm welcomes made us feel relaxed and at home. Lavender was our server and she was incredible! Very attentive and knowledgeable of each dish. This fine dining experience is the best we have had since moving here, in December. Every bite was a surprise of flavors. We all ordered something different so we could enjoy the variety of flavors. Lamb was best we've ever tasted, trout was incredible with a beautiful thick cut filet, cooked perfectly, steak poivre was a large cut ribeye cooked perfectly medium rare and the thick cut pork chop was juicy and flavorful. We loved the layout of the menu and versatility. We can't wait to return. Desserts were 5 star!!!

We have been a member of the Longwood Gardens for a while, but first time dining at 1906. For my birthday my family treated me to a wonderful lunch here. Great service, beautiful dining area, clean private restrooms, and delicious seasonal dishes. I would definitely come back here again (they give Longwood Gardens discount so that is a plus!).

Wife and I and another couple decided to go see the boss event at Longwood Gardens and had an early dinner. So we went to 1906 had were seated right away near the windows. First the entrance is a beautiful dark wood and the bar looks like it was from a fine lounge in the 50's or 60's. Soon as we sat down water and a delicious bread with a honey butter was brought over. Then the took our drink orders. A few minutes our drinks came and they took our food orders. Our orders consisted of fresh pickled vegetables, Garden Crudité, Longwood potatoes with green goddess dressing, which we all shared. Then the mains Tomato Gazpacho, Sunflower Seed "Risotto, Mushroom Bisque. We all had Day Boat Scallops. Then shared, Caramelia. 1906 Dining Room Menu Dine Show or hide subnavigation Two Course Menu | 65 per person Three Course Menu | 80 per person Embellishments from our Gardens Pickled Vegetables last season's harvest, pickled in peak ripeness | 9 Heirloom Tomato Tartine grilled sourdough, lovage, truffle salt | 15 Garden Crudité French allium dip | 12 Longwood Potatoes served warm with a green goddess dressing | 11 Beginnings Garden Greens blackberries, bee pollen, local chevre, aronia berry vinegar Kale Caesar pine nuts, bacon lardons, garlic crostini Tomato Gazpacho nasturtium, garden strawberries, espelette pepper Beef Carpaccio burratta, egg yolk, frilly red mustard Mushroom Paté pickled shallots, crispy enoki, warm brioche Mushroom Bisque hen of the woods, shiitake, crispy shallots Sunflower Seed "Risotto" poached egg, marigold butter, sweet pepper jam Scialatelli peas & beans, rainbow chard, pecorino & herb pangrattato Savoy Cabbage cremini duxelles, orange brown butter, "popcorn" cabbage Mains Agnolotti sweet yellow corn, pickled stone fruit, Thai basil Grilled Tofu today's harvest of garden vegetables, garden velouté, veggie "chicharrón" Ocean Trout summer squash, baby fennel, sorrel beurre blanc Dayboat Scallops blistered tomatoes, corn fritter, charred scallion crema Honey-Lavender Duck bbq carrots, toasted farro, carrot nage Dry-Aged Ribeye +30 | supplement bone-in prime, king oyster mushroom skewer, preserved ramp butter Desserts Mango Sudachi Tart tamarind caramel, swiss meringue, basil Berry Cremeux compressed melon, garden mint, strawberry calamansi sorbet Mille-Feuille blackberry curd, lemon chantilly, raspberry lime sorbet Caramelia chocolate mousse, espresso caramel, cocoa soil Seven Sisters seasonal cheese course pasteurized | cow's milk | gouda-style artisan

We spent the day at Longwood Gardens on our wedding anniversary and stopped inside 1906 for a quick bite. The space is stunning, it looks new and modern, and well kept just like the garden. Our waiter was nice and friendly. We ordered the lobster beignets (thought it would be lobster stuffed beignets instead of just fried lobsters), the mushroom soup (since we found out this area is known for their mushrooms although lacking strong flavors), and the spaghetti (which also lacked flavor). I think our favorite thing were the mocktails. We got the strawberries & tonic plus the butterfly lemonade. Beautifully made drinks with great flavor.

From the "Intentional Eater" - Reviewed 1906 Thursday, June 26 1906 is operating at a level that deserves recognition, but the restaurant exists outside the public review ecosystem. Because it isn't listed on the major reservation platforms diners normally use, there's no place for guests to publicly document their experience. The critics who rely on those signals simply never see you. The lack of visibility -- not the lack of excellence -- is the only reason 1906 isn't already carrying a star. I eat out intentionally -- I only go out for something I can't get at home. 1906 started my tour of chef driven restaurants, and I meant to go before COVID-19. I didn't know what to expect, but my experience in 1906 had me genuinely scratching my head -- how does a restaurant operating at this level not have an award? 1906 gives you a choice -- two courses or three. I chose the entrée and dessert. The plate, the dessert, the bread, the atmosphere, and even the mocktail was intentional, but I didn't see it right away. It wasn't until I realized my window view at Longwood Gardens was the herb garden in the Conservatory that everything clicked. I looked at the view, looked at my food, watched other plates being served, and then decided to eat the "garnish" and that bite was better than the three or four I had before. I wasn't thinking about the garden at first... but when your eye catches something you can name, the entire view of the scenery shifts. i notice the most recognizable herb -- rosemary. after you notice it... you start searching for more herbs to validate what you're seeing. dill... sage... oregano... and that's the moment everything shifts from scenery to intention. That's the part diners miss: the plate isn't just food. It's communication -- nothing on the plate is there without purpose. Then we move onto the Berry Cremieux, served in a dish designed so you can experience every bite. I forgot they hid the raspberry sorbet inside the Chantilly cream -- a small surprise that only makes sense once your spoon finds it. It's the kind of dessert where the structure of the bowl guides the bite, and every element is meant to be tasted together. The entrée plate, the dessert, even the bread complemented the intentional atmosphere 1906 wanted every diner to experience. We're just getting started. 1906 shaped every place I've eaten since -- and you can already find my reviews of Borromini and Provenance on OpenTable. I still have a few more Philadelphia Michelin starred and James Beard-awarded restaurants to get through, and I'm feeling something on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

    Dessert was the best part

Ambiance - 4/5 stars Service - 5/5 stars Food - 2/5 stars Overall glad we tried it, but nothing worth going back again. Service was good but underwhelming food.

My fiancé and I made reservations for dinner to start our night out for the Christmas lights and to celebrate her college graduation. Only had to wait about 10 minutes for our table to be ready. They offered coat check which was nice. I do have to say our server Brianna B was amazing! We made sure to let the supervisor know just how great she was. For the holidays they had their special menu, which we both went with the 4 course option. I did the scallops, short rib cantelloni, the venison loin, and the coconut pearl. They were all amazing! Great mix of flavors and timing of the courses were perfect. 4 course option is $115.

I've been to the new venue several times since they opened earlier this year -- the atmosphere and capacity both feel like they were upgraded. Service is professional, and the staff were very welcoming. Every dining experience has been pleasant! I love the seasonally changing menu. There's always something new to try. The staple item I'd recommend would be the pull-apart brioche! Together with the butter, it's out of this world. Warm, puffy, and fragrant... it's perfect! I usually don't eat bread, but I break that rule every time for this brioche. Can't wait to go back again!

I am a Longwood member and have enjoyed the gardens several times. I've never been to 1906 so I was excited to go for my birthday. The restaurant itself is really clean and green. It's beautifully decorated. The staff was well educated on the menu and provided great information about the restaurant and menu. The drinks were great and the food was okay. From fine dining perspective everything was nicely plated and presented but several things truly lacked flavor. My favorite would have to be the Wellington. This menu is seasonal so I'm sure I'll come back again but I wasn't overly impressed! They also didn't do anything special for my birthday which was kind of a let down.

Exquisite dished making extensive use of Longwood Gardens herbs, flowers fruits and vegetables complimented with other locally sourced agreements. Formal service with an ambience that blends with the Gardens

    Scallops, beet salad, brioche

This place is great for its purpose, with the incredible view and for being in Longwood Garden. However, the food itself was very average for the price. We went in a large group and got multiple items to share, from starters like the beet salad, brioche, scallops, mushroom soup, shitaake salad, and the mains including two pastas (pumpkin and crab), the roasted chicken, and branzino. The chicken was probably a let down for being their signature dish, but the appetizers were solid though the portions were small. You'd be going for the ambience rather than for the quality of food but overall still an enjoyable meal.

Zappa, C.W.Stoneking, you don't hear this music anywhere around here. Started with an old fashioned which feature a "well bourbon" for happy hour. Don't recommend. Ordered two of the small plates and the highlight was the Thai shrimp. They were huge (12s?) and just fried crispy enough. The chicken wings got the job done. Came with 9, but my GLP drugs only tolerated 6. Overall I would try again, but with Bulleit Rye and just the shrimp. Or the fish and chips.

We also had one dirty martini and two other cocktails at our table and everyone enjoyed their drinks. The charcuterie board was a nice assortment and came out with slices of toasted bread that was probably sourdough and quite good. The wings were good and came out well done and with the sauces on the side as requested. Very tasty. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive as was the food runner. My friend commented that it reminded her very much of the pubs she'd been in when she visited Ireland. I don't think you could give a bigger compliment to an Irish pub!
