I can say this is a certified hidden gem. You can tell the food was made with love and determination. I had the steak ramen. The steak was cooked perfectly. Very flavorful and well seasoned. The noodles were thick and soft. very filling. The soup was so brothy and savory loved it. The chicken ramen broth was very rich and smooth. Now that chicken. OOO that pan seared/ grilled chicken was so juicy and had so much flavor. I've eaten at so many ramen restaurants , but this one tops all of them. Yes I'm being mean to the rest but when you taste this dish you'll even be offended for eating other ramen. I found my new ramen spot. read more

Not to be confused with "Kumamoto" in Newark (though they share a name and logo and vibe). Asian fusion place with almost the whole continent being represented. Sushi, soup, Chinese, etc.. This place feels a bit cheap and chainy. Watery broken broth, not very hot with odd cuts of pork done charshu style. Tastes almost college dorm "instant". There's a few new places like this popping up-202 and in Christiana, which doesn't surprise me if you're taking the cheaper, less culinary driven, less authentic route. I could probably mimic Kumamon's ramen at home with little effort. The Kani Salad was actually pretty good. Pretty pricey considering it's not even close to being as good as Kumamoto, which reigns supreme in DE. read more

Went in for lunch with my husband and son on a Sunday. My son and husband both LOVE Ramen. I like ramen too but I wasn't in the mood for it this day. I had a spicy tuna roll and a spicy salmon roll. I enjoyed both rolls. They were fresh, and cold, as they should be. My husband had a spicy ramen, I'm not sure of the name. He said it was good but surprisingly overly spicy. All he could taste was the spice he said. We ordered a side of noodles and broth for my son. And he really enjoyed his! My husband had a matcha tea and enjoyed that. My son and I both had bubble milk tea and really enjoyed those! Also, the inside is really cool and clean. Very anime themed. And all of the employees were kind and helpful. Summary: Strong showing, especially for the area. Came on a Friday night after driving by it a few times, was pleasantly surprised. Because I've had ramen from Japan and the large coastal cities, it is important to temper expectations when having a bowl in other places. Having said that, Kumamon delivered a solid bowl of garlic ramen that had fresh ingredients, decent meat and most importantly, home made bone broth (and not the unspeakable powder broth another recent Delaware opening seems to use). The least enjoyable part of the ramen was unfortunately the noodles itself, though it might be my fault for not specifying how I like it more chewy. The other izakaya style dishes were generally pleasant too (think drinking munchie snacks), from grilled chicken skewers to eggplant to karaage chicken (which was decent). Decor was fun and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating too. Looking forward to the next visit! read more

I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Fun art and decor. Anime was playing on tv. It would be a fun place to come with friends or for a date. The service was quick and friendly. You get to order on an iPad, which I personally liked. The food was good. It's not the best ramen or sushi I've had, but it's decent. I would have liked the ramen to be hotter, as it came out warm and the egg was still room temp. I also wish the broth had some more flavor, it felt like it might have been missing something. Not a bad bowl, just not my favorite. The sushi roll was decent, nothing special. Some kinks to work out but I would come again for the environment and to try a different bowl of ramen! read more

Hmmmmm..... I confused "Kumamon Ramen" with "Ramen Kumamoto" in Newark. Before i actually went to this place I had thought this was another Ramen Kumamoto shop and was very excited. I was somewhat disappointed after I tried Kumamon Ramen. Essentially, they try to do everything (ramen, sushi, bubble tea, some Korean dishes....) but couldn't do any one of them well. At this restaurant you put the entire order into an iPad, so for those of us who enjoy the old-fashioned restaurant dining experience, it could be a minus. read more

Discovered the newly opened Kumamon Ramen when searching for a bubble tea place. Great ambiance - anime murals on the walls, the Owl House marathon on the big screen for my tween daughter. Service was excellent. Sushi was excellent - perfect rice and delicious salmon. My daughter (as a bubble tea connoisseur) was impressed with her tea and ramen bowl. Good prices. My girlfriend ordered bubble tea and I got vanilla mochi ice cream. When we got our food, my mochi was plastic wrapped! Not only that, but they gave me the wrong flavor, they only have two choices to pick from btw. Very disappointed with their performance. read more
