Photos outside looked appetizing so we went straight in. Sure glad we did! Service is quick and friendly, we were greeted with smiles and seated right away. Spacious and clean inside. Ordered the Ma-Yu Ramen and Unagi Don which comes with miso soup. Both delicious and beautifully presented. Chashu are thick and savory, the broth is perfect and not too salty. Located within the campus of University of DE - Oishii was a very pleasant experience. The spacious restaurant had large inviting booths and we were greeted right away. Our host/server provided us with menus and time to review. We started with the Spring Rolls and the Gyozas - both were very good and came with yummy sauces for dipping. We tried the Shrimp Fried Rice which was large enough to share and amazing. As our entree we both got Sushi. I got the Pink Lady and hubby got the Volcano. If you are looking for a mild experience with seafood flavors and avocado, the Pink Lady is the perfect choice. The lobster and shrimp along with the avocado were a nice combination. More than a mouthful was how hubby described the Volcano. Burst of several different flavors- with the crab being a hit. I was in the area visiting due to a metal concert that was in Philly on Friday, May 23. I was craving sushi as I usually do and my boyfriend and I were on this strip on Main Street and he and I usually split up what we're gonna eat. He usually gets chipotle and I will get what I want. I chose this sushi place and let me tell you. It was probably the best sushi I have literally ever had in the entire world. I had the spicy dancing kani roll, the TNT roll which had condensed milk on top of it, which was absolutely outstanding, then I had a bunch of smaller rolls I would literally travel five hours from my current location to go get sushi from this restaurant. That is how amazing it was so if you ever need motivation to try the sushi place let this review do it for you I know good sushi and this place knocked it out of the park read more

The food is really good here. I don't want to take away from that. But - it is massively overpriced and the service is atrocious. 45 minutes after my order had supposedly been picked up, I called the restaurant to find out what the deal was. They could barely find the order, could barely communicate and then it became my problem to track down the delivery driver. Now- I completely understand this if I placed the order through DoorDash, Uber Eats etc, but I intentionally went through Oishii's site. I got Mayu ramen and takoyaki ball take out from this place. I did like the ramen I felt that you were given a lot of noodles, meat, egg and veggies for what you paid for. The broth was super delicious too. The takoyaki octopus balls I ordered however was not great at all. You can tell they put one tiny piece of octopus in each ball (so most of it was dough). They were still super soggy too from the dough when I tried to warm them up in my air fryer. Overall the ramen was good I would come back to try other menu items. read more

I happened to be on Main St in Newark this evening and was craving sushi. I always heard good things about Oishii, so I decided to give them a try. I called my Maki Combo order in for takeout service. It was ready and waiting for me when I arrived 10 minutes later. When got home, I was totally impressed by the quality of the sushi rolls. Love Japanese food? You will love this place. Their ramen is soooo good! Very authentic. Nice, clean quiet restaurant right on Main Street in the heart of Newark DE. Tonight my daughter and I shared the scallion pancakes - love their dipping sauce. We each got the vegetable Ramen. The broth is rich and flavorful. Packed with veggies like wood mushrooms, and baby bok choy. Lots of noodles and sprouts and crispy tofu. They always bring you water, but have plenty of drinks to choose from, including traditional Japanese drinks. On street metered parking on Main St or municipal lots nearby. The ramen is inferior to Ramen Kumamoto just a block away. The ramen here uses refrigerated eggs not fresh, instant noodles not homemade, and they charge a fee for different noodles than the default. Ramen Kumomato makes fresh eggs, homemade noodles and any type of noodle you pick are included in the price of the ramen. Which btw is around the same price as Oishii. Go to Ramen Kumomoto for better ramen. Oishii does have sushi which is fresh and does taste good, but the prices make it not worth it. It's better to go to a different sushi place for those prices. I mean, $17/18 for one order of an entree roll? No thanks. We walked out when they raised their prices recently because it's not worth it. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open up and am so happy they did! I'm pretty sure it opened today. Our server was very nice and attentive. The manager even came over and asked how we were which was very kind of him. We got ramen and sushi. The ramen was perfect. I got the vegetarian ramen with an egg. I enjoyed every bite! We got the sexy roll just because they name was fun but it ends up being perfect. The pieces were the perfect size and rolled nicely. Our first time at a Ramen house and we were not disappointed. The service was exceptional and the food delish.

Favorite sushi restaurant at UD! Great sushi and always quick service. I usually take out from here, but I have eaten in there a few times and the service is great. Some of my favorite rolls include the shrimp tempura roll, spicy shrimp roll, and zebra roll. Highly recommend if you are looking for a sushi spot on UD's campus. read more

We just went for the first time. I loved the bubble tea, the container is so cute!!! (definitely keeping and reusing the cup) and the tea tasted delicious and fresh. I got the brown sugar bubble tea, and it is just the right amount of sweetness. The California roll is very very good, no complaints. My ONE criticism is that the kani salad is primarily panko, and the excess panko crumbs ended up in the trash, became who eats plain panko when you are finished with the kani?
