The staff at bent gate did great to help me find a pair in the right size based on what type of climbing I enjoy.

In our quest to find rental clothing, we came across Mountain Threads and Jared, and I am absolutely certain that it made our ski experience that much better. Jared was responsive, helpful, and kind - both on the phone and in person. He opened the shop early to accommodate our ski time - which was incredible - and $40 for all of the rental wear was a solid price. Easily a 10/10 - you won't go wrong here!

They recommended Mountain Threads, and I could not be more satisfied with the service I received. I called the day I arrived in town/the night before I was to ski. I spoke with Jared who was incredibly helpful in identifying the gear I needed. Further, Jared walked me through a timeline for leaving Denver, stopping by the shop to try on gear, and making it to my ski lesson on time. Throughout the process Jared was accommodating and generous with his insights. The price point was incredibly competitive - jacket, pants, goggles and gloves for $40. I believe a helmet could have been included, but the ski park included a helmet in their equipment package. I would recommend Mountain Threads without hesitation.

The first time the skis I ordered did not arrive at the shop and therefore I wasn't able to pick them up. Instead of saying oh well they sought out another similar pair of skis (the year prior's) and gave them to me at a discounted price without even guilt tripping me or making it feel like I should bow down to them. And the skis are still staying strong 8 years later. On another occasion I went to their shop to pick up a new pair of skis that I ordered online. They also had a special edition pair that I didn't order but when I arrived at the shop I figured I'd at least inquire about them. I did and the guy working behind the desk just said hang on a second, brought out the limited edition ski and said they were all mine at no additional cost. I didn't even ask for the same price, I simply asked if they had any in stock still. Again, they didn't have to but they chose to because they rock! And this season I ordered a pair of special edition skis for ski patrollers and due to delays on the factory's end, not theirs, my skis are still in process of being finished, almost a month delayed. I originally was going to pick them up at their shop but due to time constraints (I live in Breckenridge) I am no longer able to pick them up in a way that makes sense. So I just asked if they could ship them and of course they said yes and they said the shipping will be on them. Again, they didn't have to do that but they chose to. And this is why I will forever buy Icelantic skis. Not only are their skis bombproof (literally...), their customer service is the standard to what all ski manufacturers should adhere to. They care about their product and will go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy too. Now one quick note about their skis, they are beyond bombproof. They make them so well built that they might put themselves out of business because customers won't need to buy new skis after 2-3 years of using them. Unlike other skis that fall apart or easily break down after lots of use, Icelantic skis hold up. I have a pair that is almost 9 years old now and I still ride on them. They have been over so many rocks and stumps over the years and yet you could tell if you were to look at the bases. I probably have had 3 major core shots in 9 years. By my calculations it should be more like 100, yet the bases hold up super well in terrible skiing conditions. I only "upgraded" because they added early rise tip and tails to the nomads. And I have since purchased their pioneers to expand my skiing quiver. It may be a loooooong time until I will "need" to buy my next pair of replacement skis. If you want to buy a ski that will last a long time and make your purchase feel more like an investment, go with Icelantic. You won't need to purchase a new pair of skis every 3 or so years because of wear and tear!

Cassidy-who runs the shop-knows his stuff--he's also really nice and easy to talk to as I admitted I'm not a cool, powder skiing, challenge-seeking type(anymore) and that I've never skied on wide skis. He helped me choose the Maiden 91s. I skied on them for the first time the other day and OMG--best skiing day maybe ever--everything just seemed easier. I might even revisit powder this season. I love this shop too--cool gear, gifts etc. I bought the rack to display my skis on my wall since they are also a rad work of art. AND these guys are local--grew up skiing in CO and designing and manufacturing here. Thank you Cassidy & Icelantic!!

It was his personal priority to make sure my family trip to Denver was left without a blemish, and his effort not only achieved that but also left me with a surprisingly sincere and unique exchange that I've not experience before with retail service. Derek didn't have to reach out, nor did he have to offer help, but it's evident in his actions that he cares about his company from the top down, and that's a quality I think is very valuable. I'll also add that Kurt, the store manager, was poised during the dilemma, never passing the buck on the inventory error. I would say he really enjoys making people happy, even when he has to deal with flies in the ointment, on occasion. You can call me a fan of Sportsfan. --------------------------------- (For posterity, I've left the previous post in reference) Had a great first impression of the store, thought the service was friendly and accommodating. Came to Denver on a trip to see my first Broncos home game and wanted to commemorate the incredible win with a souvenir. My dad and brother and I had looked up and down 16th St a few days for the right item, and I thought I had found it in a light vintage hoodie. The employee allowed me to try it on with multiple sizes and determined the best fit was the large. Then it got tricky. Walking to the front register an employee stopped and told me that the hoodie wasn't actually for sale because it had been sold yesterday and somehow didn't end up in the bag of the person who bought it. But yet, it was still hanging up, with price tag and all, in the middle of a rack. He told me it wasn't available at any other location so it basically didn't exist. He couldn't explain how or why it was still on the sales floor, apologized for the mistake, but did not extend any other concessions for the store's error besides saying "it was a crazy day yesterday, and the person who bought it is coming to get it". I don't live in Denver so I cannot return when it is restocked. Call it sincerely bad timing, but regardless, this was the first time I've picked something off a rack and then been told that what I have in my hand doesn't exist and I have to give it back. Hope it doesn't happen to the next customer.
