Bought a paco pad with curb side pickup. Stall was friendly and transaction went smooth. I'll definitely use them again.

I visited during a very busy day looking for hiking boots for Colorado living and also Mt Kilimanjaro. Since it was so busy I was helped by someone in the shoe department who didn't quite have the knowledge to guide me to what I need. I ended up leaving with 2 pairs that I ultimately returned. Not the best but they were busy. HOWEVER, I went back on a less busy day, and Tom in the shoe department was an absolute angel. I told him what I'm looking for and he pulled 3 pairs out for me- size, weight, function that I needed. The second pair I tried fit like an absolute glove and I was in and out much faster and happier. Tom was super helpful and had the knowledge to vouch for this pair of shoes. Very happy, give that man a raise!

Visiting Denver I knew we had to visit the REI Flagship store located in downtown. The store itself is huge and located within the restored 1901 Denver Tramway Building. This building is all brick and just stunning to walk up to and into. They offer every type of equipment one would need for their selected sport whether it's hiking, climbing, cycling, camping, paddling, skiing, snowboarding or overall fitness. They also offer the option to rent outdoor equipment, provide a full range bike shop and ski and snowboard services. The store features a 47 foot tall climbing wall right in the middle of the floor and other unique decorations. I have never been in such a huge REI store but it was a fun experience. My husband managed to spend all his saved up gift cards (Ha! Ha!) Service was friendly and helpful from the staff. REI can always be a little on the spendy side but I always try to catch their sales. I love being a member and receiving my annual rewards. Parking is the only downer as it's only free for the first hour. After that you must pay and believe me, an hour is not enough time here. So glad we had the opportunity to stop in, shop and check out this historic location.

It was his personal priority to make sure my family trip to Denver was left without a blemish, and his effort not only achieved that but also left me with a surprisingly sincere and unique exchange that I've not experience before with retail service. Derek didn't have to reach out, nor did he have to offer help, but it's evident in his actions that he cares about his company from the top down, and that's a quality I think is very valuable. I'll also add that Kurt, the store manager, was poised during the dilemma, never passing the buck on the inventory error. I would say he really enjoys making people happy, even when he has to deal with flies in the ointment, on occasion. You can call me a fan of Sportsfan. --------------------------------- (For posterity, I've left the previous post in reference) Had a great first impression of the store, thought the service was friendly and accommodating. Came to Denver on a trip to see my first Broncos home game and wanted to commemorate the incredible win with a souvenir. My dad and brother and I had looked up and down 16th St a few days for the right item, and I thought I had found it in a light vintage hoodie. The employee allowed me to try it on with multiple sizes and determined the best fit was the large. Then it got tricky. Walking to the front register an employee stopped and told me that the hoodie wasn't actually for sale because it had been sold yesterday and somehow didn't end up in the bag of the person who bought it. But yet, it was still hanging up, with price tag and all, in the middle of a rack. He told me it wasn't available at any other location so it basically didn't exist. He couldn't explain how or why it was still on the sales floor, apologized for the mistake, but did not extend any other concessions for the store's error besides saying "it was a crazy day yesterday, and the person who bought it is coming to get it". I don't live in Denver so I cannot return when it is restocked. Call it sincerely bad timing, but regardless, this was the first time I've picked something off a rack and then been told that what I have in my hand doesn't exist and I have to give it back. Hope it doesn't happen to the next customer.
