After checking various reviews on it, what I experienced is a common issue with the reel and they have been told about it many times. The best they would do is say they would pay for return shipping. It shouldn't be the customer's burden to pay for fixing DEFECTIVE items. If I broke it during use I could understand them wanting costs covered... but the warranty on the product is worthless if it costs almost as much as a new reel.
