It was a blisteringly hot summer, and our A/C malfunctioned in early May of 2025. Our unit was less…read morethan two years old. A high end heat pump/A/C with apparently no customer service within 60 miles. While some technicians found a faulty blower motor (still under warranty), the service department of this manufacturer made the process very difficult. 90 days without A/C. With said motor replaced, the A/C worked for a few days before it stopped blowing cold air. This is now five months without A/C. Called Daniels Heating and Air, the technicians came out the next day and recharged a depleted coolant R-410, and for a week it cooled great. But soon it became apparent that the unit had a leak. After consulting with the manufacturer representative, they agreed to ship a brand new unit ($14-18,000) and it was shipped to Daniels Heating and Air. When it arrived, they brought out the unit, and installed it in short order. It was installed at no cost to us. The technicians that we interacted with were great, and so we recommend Daniels Heating and Air without reservation. I will also get a quote on regular maintenance agreement for the A/C and the split units we have. "You can have happy heating and air, where the service is great and prices are fair." M. H

This meant not putting the unit further back in the crawl space but right in the way of my crawl space entrance. This also meant installing a new pad that sits beside my already large and accommodating pad for the units, which also blocks a sprinkler head. The pump/drain installed was put right next to the house so water would drain between the foundation of my house and the pad. That also created a lot of algae buildup. I fixed this myself. Does the unit blow cold air, yes. Is this quality work? Not in the slightest. Despite this experience I called this company out to have my air ducts looked at for potential cleaning. A recommendation was made to have my air ducts cleaned. The quote received referenced systems being cleaned. It was NOT clear when they first came out they would only be doing 1 of 2 systems. I learned this while the work was being done. I reached out to express my frustration that a $1200 duct cleaning was only for 1 of the 2 systems. I received a call back with the technician citing he only looked at one system. The technicians explanation and the quote did not make it clear that only 1 system would be cleaned. Strange too that the odor that triggered this duct cleaning was on the system they installed. I had no issues with the original system that was there for 13 years. I will not only NOT recommend this company, I'll go out of my way to warn others. There are plenty of companies looking to earn peoples business, and I'm glad to give it to them.

Trip charge was $109 to basically tell us to turn it off and they would be back the next day. Said he couldn't charge the gas because it would just run out. Night of heavy sweating. As they said, they came out the next day and analyzed the issue. $300 for leak detection. Once they found it we were told, even under warranty, it would be $2100. I do not like to get one opinion so I called our normal company. They came right out, found the leak without $300 leak detection and said it would be $800 out the door. In addition he charged it and said it would last us a week and call if we needed him before then. I do give credit to Covenant for coming out but charging us 3 times as much was ridiculous.

Ray the owner, is professional and knowledgeable. He has fair pricing and quality work. When he met with us, he did a complete evaluation of our A/C and duct-work system. At that point, he asked us what our expectations were and then suggested a couple solutions. Shortly after our meeting, we received his detailed proposal with several affordable options and even a few extras, like UV lighting for HVAC systems and different filters. After we spent some time looking over his proposal as well as others, we had a few additional questions that he was happy to clarify. His knowledge and expertise made us feel comfortable with our decision and we hired his company to install our system. We chose Carrier but he will install just about any brand. It was promptly installed about 10 weeks ago. Now, the unit is 13 years old, getting to end of life but I thought it had a few good years left, especially with a new motor now. I was not advised at any time that the whole unit should be replaced. However, my tenant was told during installation of the motor (which wasn't cheap) that the whole thing should just be replaced. Whoa. That's not good business. Fast forward 10 weeks and the unit goes down again. At this point, the tenant has zero patience based on what she was told by Whitley. I have Whitley check it out, and they said it was a freon leak and they replaced 3 lbs to get it working again. BUT, when I call to find out more about the leak, my request to talk to the installer is rejected. I'm only given speculation about the nature of the leak by the person answering the phone. Two days later and the unit goes down again - at this point I know I'm buying a new unit but I'm just not comfortable working with Whitley anymore. The new company I send out gives me details about the (very rapid) leak with the components affected. I end up buying a new unit through them. However, my relationship with the fairly new tenant has been compromised already.
